"Not a single U.S. service member was ever on the ground in Libya."
Don`t say "ever".
In 1805 the US Marines invaded Tripoli, the Libian capital. It`s in the Marine Corps Hymm

"Front the Halls of Montezuma
To the shores of Tripoli..."

I know what you meant, just sayin`

In a way, his is a very inspiring story.
The only son of an illiterate goat herder, he sets out to find adventure. Through guts, perseverance, and brains he makes his way to the TOP and at age 27 becomes the `King` of all the land!

It`s freakin` Disney-esque!
Either you are grossly misinformed or you are a liar. Not a single U.S. service member was ever on the ground in Libya. Even Fox News will admit that. We were never at war.
Bollocks.

The USA would have had some military people in Libya. Maybe they`d call them "advisors", maybe they`d just deny they were ever there. It`s the way such things are done.

Even if that didn`t happen (and it would be very bizarre if it didn`t), then the USA was still at war. Just a little less directly.

I`m not singling out the USA here - exactly the same is true of the other countries involved.

Overthrowing another country`s government rarely turns out to be good foreign policy, even if you do it by training and supplying rebels rather than a direct invasion. You can`t be sure that the new government will be an obedient puppet for very long, nor can you be sure it will be able to control the country anyway.

I don`t even know why I bother auburnjunky. You`re another wall. The military personnel you linked to did not fight and you absolutely know it. They are there to help with the rebuilding. Let me guess, you`re passive aggressive and have screwed over many relationships because of it. I feel sorry for anyone who is on your life.

Pretty good point there john. War powers says 90 days without senate approval. How long was this military action? I don`t know because THE NEWS DOESN`T REPORT IT!

Actually, it was 7 months, almost to the day.

Also, this;

Funds spent by Foreign Powers on War in Libya.
Country Funds Spent By
Canada $26 million USD June 2011
France $228.9 million USD July 2011
UK $400 million USD June 2011
US $664 million USD May 2011

We may have had soldiers there that nobody knows about.....seriously. Not to mention we went to war (with our planes) without anyone but Obama making a decision to.

"If you don`t think we have people there, you truly are can idiot."

This is from today as reported by FoxNews, "Without putting a single U.S. servicemember on the ground, we achieved our objectives," Obama said. "We`ve demonstrated what collective action can achieve."

"There will be no American boots on the ground. Our involvement in this will take days, not months. Certainly not years." - Barack Obama

@auburnjunky: "We are still there, with boots on the ground."

Either you are grossly misinformed or you are a liar. Not a single U.S. service member was ever on the ground in Libya. Even Fox News will admit that. We were never at war.

Or were you just Trolling so you could come back and point out how wrong Obama was about the timeline?

@auburnjunky: illegal when he was killed by his own countrymen while waving a gun at them? Sounds to me like he`d rather die than be captured.

Not saying I was down with Qadaffi(sp?) or anything, but the hypocrisy here is pretty astounding.

It`s against the Geneva Convention to kill the leader of a country without trial.

lol the whole middle east debacle is all BS. nothing it as it seems.. all about oil. and nothing to do with citizens being harmed or mistreated. Libya actually has the highest literacy rate of any middle eastern country and there were lots of jobs for people. And these rebels? lol brainwashed by the CIA to starty an uprising.. where the drat you think they got all those guns and ammo? the Fact is they are better off then the US. and that`s why they had to go.

The news is saying a drone attacked his convoy as he was fleeing Sirte, blew it up, Gadaffi hid in a sewer pipe armed with a gold handgun, they found him alive, but apparently someone put a bullet behind his ear.

Interesting.

Libya protesters use weapons and they`ve basically gathered complete humanitarian support and attained a good deal of freedom for themselves.

Syria protesters don`t use weapons and we sit here and read the news about how more people have been killed at protests by government crackdowns.

This is why I always read the obituaries. You never know when a name will appear that`ll just make your day! :D

I particularly enjoyed the FOX NEWS coverage of this. They managed to blame Obama for the revolution taking so long.
