Shame...I would think that as veterans, they put their lives on the line to protect the American value of freedom.

I wonder what they were fighting for then. Perhaps they were drafted?

@M_Archer, What is freedom if not the freedom to express your ideals in a public forum?

Archer--the government is not the only institution capable of taking your freedom away. Oddly enough, it`s possible for corporations (who pretty much control the economy) to use their power to take our freedom away. Not through lawmaking, but by putting the economy in a stranglehold and squeezing our money out of us.

I dunno, DrProfessor, the corporations most definitely are in the business of taking away our freedom through lawmaking. The Archers of the world don`t seem to get that. Or they do, but that`s the way they want it, because there`s money in it for them.

It`s incredibly sad that in a world full of worthy causes that this many people choose to waste their time complaining that other people are too rich.

But hey at least two of the people in this photo have an excuse to not be out looking for a job.

@Enjin: It`s not necessarily how rich they are, it is how much control they have, but unfortunately, those 2 often go hand in hand

Well, the Wall-Street protestors (from what I gathered) are protesting capitalism. The protesters don`t think there`s a difference between the businessman who created their wealth and the business who got rich through government favors.

They`re blaming Wall Street, and therefore, economic freedom. They don`t think that Wall Street should be allowed to make as much money as they do.

Fighting for freedom means fighting for the right to live your life as you see fit; the protestors are fighting against, not just the freeloaders, but honest, hard-working businessmen who created their wealth from nothing. The protestors don`t think that the businessman should be able to lead his life how he sees fit. That`s anti-freedom.

Also, we cannot rule out the possibility that they were drafted and therefore had no cause they were fighting for.

Money is just another way to keep people from equality, everyone wants a piece of the pie but the people with pie don`t want to give it up. Why would you, it`s pie! THERE ISN`T ENOUGH PIE. Instead of bitching and moaning about it, take it. Or beg for scraps at the table like everyone else, just quit wasting valuable time and air whining. Where are the bakers who make pie? Let`s make some pie, people.

No, fighting for freedom means fighting for freedom from tyranny. Tyranny sometimes comes in the form of tyrants living their lives as they see fit, no matter what the effect on others.
