    My friends sometimes get confused when I whip out my "boa" and throw it around, but it`s only self abuse. Not animal abuse. And the women love it... ;)

    sounds like an americana legend or something. Like paul bunyans cousin, walked around fighting snakes and swinging swords.

    this guy needs a song written about him. Maybe some merchandise too.

    "The strangest thing happened, Mom: I was awakened
    by the neighbors` pet snake around my neck...
    ...had already eaten Freddie, Julia`s hamster...
    ...grabbed the trophy wakizashi from the wall and...
    ...so, the cops grabbed me while I was trying to rescue Freddie. Now I`m in the clink. Can you come get me?"

    Perfectly rational.
    [email protected] cops let little Freddie die AND put Bob
    in the clink.
    Then, destroyed the snake...

    It would seem this man was acting very irratic. I`m no peta member (good thing) but animal cruelty rules do exist to "domestic" pets. A boa constrictor probably shouldnt be domestic but the fact remains that it was considered animal cruelty, and then the whole sword thing...yeah

    You can defend yourself against wild dogs too, but that doesn`t mean you can beat your neighbor`s with a stick. It`s very doubtful that you would find a wild boa constrictor in New York, and even if you did, it probably wouldn`t attack you. All that aside, if it were self defense he probably would`ve just used the sword on it, since he seemed to be pretty quick to use it to "defend" himself against the cops.

    @Vikings

    it seems it was a pet snake, it would be the same as killing a wolf in the wild and beating up your dog

    "aggravated assault on an officer"
    this would imply he struck the officer with the sword

    I`m pretty sure that after you throw it to the ground once, you should just run away, so deliberately picking it up and throwing it more times is both cruelty and stupidity, regardless of what it tried to do to you.
