Hmmm, kind of anticlimactic. Not as cool as I thought it was going to be.

"Math finally comes in handy" - huh? As if math was useless before people decided to build this specific structure? o.o

They never teach you the math to make domes, catenary arches and so forth in high school. They choose unrealistic and completely idiotic examples like that "Batman" problem posted the other day.

Big deal. I could design a better one. I could build a better one too, although it would take a while if I was to do it all the work myself.

Some crazy tunes in the background. If people liked this song, I HIGHLY suggest going to this guys SoundCloud and giving the rest of his work a listen to. Smooth and chill.

    OT: Video was meh.

    Hey

I made this video, and am glad to see it made it on IAB.
Just to clear the air, I didn`t write anything about math when I submitted it, so your beef is with the IAB editors.

@apttodo: the guy needed to climb onto the dome to fix some stuff, and the only thing we had around with a good enough grip for climbing on it were those gloves.

Considering what this took to make this with modern materials and tools, it makes things like the Pantheon in Rome (built over 2000 years ago with a stone domed roof) even more impressive.

Then Pantheon`s roof is made of concrete, not stone. They basically built a wooden dome form, filled it with concrete, then removed the form.
