Very few of these songs are serious songs. Most of them are just a bit of fun, whoever compiled this list must be some craic at party`s.

My Heart Will Go On should be number 1 on this list.

Well these are just about the worst. Except "I`m to Sexy" maybe moved to #11. Celine Dion needs to have the "Titanic" song as #1. Therefore she has two songs as the worst.

F*CK Rolling Stone.

They need to get their heads out their arses and realise that Coldplay, Nirvana and Radiohead are not Gods.

Just cos the singers aren`t "artists" they try and make them out as failures and jokes

Yeah, who picked these songs? They were all frigging awesome for the 90`s.

I haven`t paid attention to pop music since the mid 60s so I can`t argue with their choices. I have to agree, though, that these were all consistently awful.

"Mattel... ...were less than pleased that their product was being presented in such an overtly sexual way and filed a lawsuit... ...ruled that the song was a parody and thus permissible... ...Mattel took it all the way to the Supreme Court...
...change of heart in 2009, when they changed the lyrics and
>>>used the song in an ad campaign.<<<

Is that song about stripping a Barbie?

K, so it is a list but compiled by who? People of a relevant age to the decade? I AM relevant to that decade and can remember that most of them were ground breaking at the time. Some ARE duds but a lot opened doors that are the structure of today`s music,

In the (naughts? 2000-2010), I could not stand hearing any Brittany Spears ever, it was in every commercial and every website until about 2006.

Yeah, I liked the 4 non blondes song. I... I smoked A LOT of weed back then. Oh, and of course Chumbawamba... that lovely female voice, "pissing the niiight awayyyyy..." Plus, it was a great party song. The rest truly do suck.

Oh and I wouldn`t be surprised to see Candle in the Wind on this list, judging by the general direction it took.

4 non blondes: Not really bad imho.
I`m too sexy: well, the whole song is a joke ^^
Baha Men: trashy fun :)
Titanic theme: I didn`t like the movie, but the song is still great.
Hanson: not so great...
Tubthumping: Well, the name says it all, doesn`t it?
Ice Ice baby: no, just no.
Achy Breaky Heart: Never heard of this before. Generic country to me.
macarena: has hot babes, i see nothing bad :P It`s a harmless funny song (and the video just rocks!)
Barbie Girl: YES! Definitely a worthy #1. Works as a parody, but not as a "real" song.

Overall: The worst music didn`t get into the charts. And we had some crap like Hyper Hyper, which isn`t mentioned at all. Really crappy list to be honest.

These are all catchy songs that occasionally people listen to for Sh*ts and giggles. Nothing wrong with that but seriously barbie girl was the worst? there were many more terrible ones. btw for the lazy the list goes as follows -

The Worst Songs of the Nineties

10. 4 Non Blondes, `What`s Up?`
9. Right Said Fred, `I`m Too Sexy`
8. Baha Men, `Who Let The Dogs Out?`
7. Celine Dion, `My Heart Will Go On`
6. Hanson, `MMMBop`
5. Chumbawamba, `Tubthumping`
4. Vanilla Ice, `Ice Ice Baby`
3. Billy Ray Cyrus, `Achy Breaky Heart`
2. Los Del Rio, `Macarena`
1. Aqua, `Barbie Girl`

for the record i feel this is the worst music that was done in the 90`s

4 Non Blondes, `What`s Up?` was good despite the poo video. See them live, it was much more raw.

Chumbawamba, `Tubthumping` was a catchy song, but way overplayed. Of course, overexposure doesn`t make a song bad, and I don;t really think it deserves a spot on this list.

Other than that, all of the songs on this list were pretty crappy, IMHO. Worst songs of the 90`s? Probably not, but still pretty bad.

Aqua ROCKS! They had some really creative videos, a great sound, and their music was always fun. Back To The 80s is also a great oomeback hit too!

if anything aqua`s barbie girl is a parody song about plastic girls who emulate the "barbie life" i dont think its supposed to be a serious song.

The issue with some of the songs is that they were simply overplayed. (My Heart Will Go On, Macarena) Others I always hated both because they were just "too easy" and didn`t bring anything interesting to the table. (Who Let the Dogs Out, My Achy Breaky Heart) Then the songs that I loved to hate (I`m Too Sexy, MMMBop, Barbie Girl, Ice Ice Baby) But there are a few songs that I loved then, and love now. (What`s Up, Tubthumping) Tubthumping is a great running song. I don`t care what you think of me...

This list is a fail!!! More than likely asked snot-nosed teenagers who never even listened to these songs in the first place... except for "My heart will go on" and "Achy Breaky Heart"

ALL CLASSICS!!!
Except for Celine Dion (for me that is, because I do not like the song) and Billy Ray - you know I saw/heard that song in one episode of Hannah Montana and never knew that it was real untill noe....

It doesn`t really work doing a poll to find the worst song, because the actually worst songs, nobody knows about. Instead you end up with the most popular polarising songs, and the most catchy ones, that get annoying (for many) really fast.

I think most of these, if you`re objective, you`d have to say are either average or pretty good.

"They [Chumbawamba] remain somewhat popular in England"

Let me assure you...they do FUC*ING not!! We hated that dirge as much as everyone, and they are no more famous than a poodles fresh daily pavement delivery.

I can`t say I agree these are the worst songs of the 90`s. There are much, much worse songs out there and these clearly aren`t the worst since they became so incredibly popular.

I first heard "Tubthumping" back in late `97 at a football game in Aberdeen, Scotland. Nothing like a couple thousand drunk Scots singing this at the top of their lungs. Loved it ever since.

Will Smith`s musical abortions were worthy of a mention. The hard rock and early gangster rap scene is where the 90`s pulled it`s weight as I remember it, everything else was a terrifying failure.
