Not because White Castle"s tasty burgers got him fat, but for an even stranger reason...

I was at a concert that had individual chairs set up on the main floor. The woman in front of me took up her seat AND half of the one next to her that someone else paid for. I took a pic as it was funny but then I realized its just gross and unfair. What if that was MY seat that her ass was on? Luckily the seats were movable so when the pother person showed up it could be adjusted.

This lawsuit should be throw out. Not a right to eat fast-food everyday but a privilege. Eat an occasional salad and will be back in the booths in no time.

Steelgrid... he wasn`t making excuses. Angilian was clearly taking resposability for his metabolism and doing the right steps to manage it.

"Actually many people are genetically predisposed to have lower metabolisms

I`m one of them. Actually disgnosed by a doctor, not just saying it because I`m fat. "

Bullshiit, bullshcitt, BULLSHYT!!!

Blaming your "metabolism" is a first world excuse, pure and simple. Im 230, I know Im 230 because I like to eat alot of Lion`s Choice and play videogames, my job also consists of alot of sit time. Im 230 because i dont work out. Not because of some stupid fvuckin excuse about "big bones" or "my metabolism doesnt let me be skinny"........B U L L S H I T!!!!

"Cajun: I`m not saying the guy should receive a monetary award, but some accommodation should be made if for no other reason then there are normal weight people in wheelchairs that would find it very difficult to use those fixed swivel chairs."

yeah, go outside and sit in the trough (read:car)that brought you hear you fat fvuck.

I tell you what, next time this douchenozzle complains, the managment needs to walk up too him, sock him dead in the gut until he vomits, then tell him to sit his fat ass down. GOddamn.

It`s looking like this lard-ass will probably win his case.
Because of the Americans with Disabilities Act including obesity, White Castle has an obligation to accomodate anyone who fits through the door.

But personally, I`d be too emberassed to tell people I was too fat to fit at the table. I suggest White Castle provide complementary troughs.

This country is really getting out of hand.If I was the judge to hear this I would tell him to join weightwatchers, and then throw him out of my courtroom.Think about it these kinds of stupid lawsuits got their start with that dumb bitch that money for dumping hot coffee in her crotch. The people on that jury should be real proud of their decision to give that dumbass anything but a bib.

FFS, seriously? Of all the great injustices and indignities the world over, he sues over a booth? Really, the U.S. legal system needs to take a very hard look at it`s regulations concerning litigation.

They don`t adjust the booths, then be a man and don`t give them your business. Hey look, problem solved.

Hmm, they get sued if a person turns themselves into a blob over eating. They get sued if they don`t accommodate said blob`s process of metamorphosis by widening the chairs so ha can take space from other diners.

Mate, if you can`t fit into the booth of a fast food restaurant, then that`s the first sign that you should take a break.

The second sign is you require not just three conciliatory burgers, but extra cheese.

Having said that, if I already have heart disease it will be a much bigger problem. Or, as you mentioned, hypothyroidism.

There are genuine medical causes of obesity, but people with them shouldn`t be a regular at fried fast food outlets.
Actually many people are genetically predisposed to have lower metabolisms
I`m one of them. Actually disgnosed by a doctor, not just saying it because I`m fat.

I`m at an increased risk of heart disease, liver disease, diabetes and general deathiness. I`m also at an increased risk of obesity, which further increases my risk of the above.

The only treatment is above-average fitness to offset the above-average risk.

I`ve dropped ~12Kg from changing my diet and I`m awaiting the results of a heart scan to see if it`s safe for me to exercise. I will be athletic and I will offset my genetic disadvantage. My problem, my life (or death), my responsibility. Sure, if there was a medical treatment I`d take it, but there isn`t. There are far worse genetic problems to have, far, far worse.

Agreed, but that just means they have to take responsability for their own unique situation and stop expecting the world to accomodate them. People need to try some self discipline.

As they say, everyone has their cross to bear.

I dont hate fat people but i was mentionning that was from stupid behavior.I`m no better, i lost 90 pounds.

I agree that becoming fat from medical reason become disability and im sorry if i have offended you.

Also its harder for some people then others. It depend on your metabolism but if you healthy you can avoid being fat only by making your food yourself and avoid way to large portions of restaurants

he as no right to sue them. just go somewhere else

As for this guy`s lawsuit, how hard is it for a restaurant like this to have at least a few real chairs ? McDonalds, Hardees, Taco Bell, and many others do retain a few real tables and chairs for their patrons, White Castle could easily do the same.

He`s not obese. He is not suing because he`s fat. He`s suing because he wants the booths to be bigger. Honestly, White Castle should WANT to make the booths bigger. Their #1 consumers are NOT going to be health-conscious skinny/normal sized people. I think he`s doing this more because of the letters sent back than for money or believing he`s actually disabled.

White Castle needs to know their audience and accommodate them, rather than rolling their eyes and angering the consumer.

Crabes:
...there is no way you become fat from genetic.
Actually many people are genetically predisposed to have lower metabolisms and there is evidence that artificial sweeteners and additives can lower peoples metabolism even further. Not to mention people with medical conditions like hypothyroidism have a hard time loosing weight as well.

Conversely there are people that can seemingly eat all they ever want and never gain a pound.

So please quit hating on the `fluffy` people, alright ?

@Crabes, I agree 100% that being fat is a choice, I was just stating that it is considered a disability. I personally hate fat people. I don`t like the decision that the ADA made, but the law is the law ( sadly )

Being fat is a choice and a consequence of your lifestyle. Some people as more, some as less, some people are more massive but there is no way you become fat from genetic. So you dont blame other people for the condition you put yourself in.

If he wins this case, it opens the door to more stupid stuff.
Fat people could sue airlines if they can`t get their lard-ass in just one seat. Movie theatres.

Could a fat bastard sue Cooper because he can`t fit behind the wheel of their car?

Not just fatties... what if you`re too tall? Could you sue someone because their ceilings are too low?

He`s going to lose. If a restaurant wants to have their seating so close that NOBODY can sit in it, that is their choice. It may be bad business, but there is NOTHING a court of law can do about it unless there was some sort of legally binding agreement for them to increase the fatty-accommodations.

I actually sympathise with this guy, because a lot of those stationary booths are tight fits, even for those who aren`t that big! A normal table and chairs is far more comfortable.
