Optimistic delusional yuppy good times with complete disregard for future consequences that are now coming due. Yay go 80`s! Bring back voodoo economics! Greed is good!
How the hell did I pass my teen years amidst that drat and not get sucked in.

Yes, this is a catastrophe. But as an 80`s kid myself I can say that there was something optimistic about that time.

We had a lot more fun in the 80s. The goofy disco crap from the 70s made this look like heavy metal. This was the good stuff.

I don`t think this qualifies as "gay."

Look at Whitesnake.

I was going to counter this with an Iron Maiden video but I just realized a bunch of guys wearing tight leather and studs might be a little gay also...

First few lines of lyrics:
[I worked really hard just to be with you.]
[You blew me off for something trivial.]
[I asked: "WTF?"]
Chorus: [Your answer was: "You are dead weight."]

Not only is it closet, the song is about [someone] that screwed him over so hard, he was put off.
If true, it is inspired music and...

Excuse me, I have something in my eye...

Well, the addition of the "jazz" dancers, which was more than likely a decision on the part of the band`s producer, heavily tipped the scale on the gay side. However, if you review the lyrics of the song, it is about a girl leaving him and wanting to get away as fast as possible. And he never wants another girl like her to work him over. Which is clearly either come out of the closet gay, or serial killer.

but wait, if I think Pete Burns was pretty, and I`m straight, then he couldn`t be a man, he HAS to be a woman, right? RIGHT?

At least the dance moves are still being used today. But 80s were the best years of music for many genre. Metallica, Pantera, Queen to name a few

@LandoGriffin, Pete Burns isn`t a "she", he`s male, and makes it clear he isn`t a transgendered female.

Pete Burns was actually pretty for a little while, about 20 years ago, until she ruined her face with plastic surgery.

Not bad looking, for a man.

@Bacon_pie - Pete Burns of Dead or Alive is not just gay, she is a male-to-female transsexual who prefers to live as a woman and be known as a "she" - yet she doesn`t change her real name from "Pete"

Matthew Wilder is homosexual, so yes, he is literally gay. He wasn`t out of the closet back in 1983 when he had this hit song, but he is out now.

that`s not gay. this is gay. dead or alive look nothing like their name should perceive them as. just like los lonely boys. when i first saw a picture of them, i thought they were going to be a metal band, but they go and release heaven and make shake my head in disappointment.
