4 Year Old wears fake boobs for pageant. Too far? What do you think, I-A-B?

As far as I`m concerned, all little miss beauty pageant judges are closet pedophiles, some of who ether do not know it or refuse to acknowledge it.

Appropriate for a costume? Absolutely.

Appropriate costume for a 4 year old? No.

The_Windy: My problem is that these young are young girls, about 2-5, dressing like the women who you see at conventions. I am going to disagree with you. I don`t mean to be a troll or get into any debate. You make fine points, and all opinions are welcome. I will say this much, after seeing the other crap these mothers put their daughters through, i suppose this fake bust and rear is tame. But this is sending all the wrong messages. I agree with DrProfessor.

At first when I saw it I thought it wasn`t appropriate for a child, but then I learned that it was part of a costume. I think it`s fine as long as it`s worn for fun. It`s not meant to be sexy, it`s meant to be funny.
I see girls scantally clad at conventions and think nothing of it. If they were to wear a bra and a thong outside as normal clothes, then I would think of them as a slut, or just inappropriate.

The fact is, a dumb blond with big boobs DOES get advantages in life. The sooner the kid learns how the real world works the better. These pagents teach her real world coping skills.

Good job Mom!

These girls will grow up anorexic with huge self esteem problems. They will never feel pretty unless they`re conforming to some unearthly standard of perfection, and it will cause them pain and misery for the rest of their life.

But hey, at least their moms get to live vicariously through them!

And is it just me, or does this show seem a little too pedophiliac?

This just seems so wrong. : ( I don`t know what to make of it! I think... like, I want to say that if the kids are happy it should be fine, but sometimes I think they don`t know if they really are or not until they are older and understand things better, you know? ...Oh, I`m confused.

jtrebowski, if the little boy was playing dress-up as someone whose main noticeable feature is his oversized rooster then sure. My point was that there really shouldn`t be a concern over this because it`s not like she was being judged for beauty (where the judges would think a toddler having big boobs is prettier than a toddler with a normal chest). It`s simply the dress-up/costume portion of the competition, where they are judged on creativity/routine or something like that. If she wanted to go for looking like Dolly Parton, well, she has gigantic boobs, so it kinda makes sense for that to be part of the costume. It`s kinda like if a little boy wears fake giant muscles/fake abs while dressing up as the Hulk, except that boobs (esp fake ones) are seen as sexual so people create a big deal over a little kid playing dress up. Even though being judged on their makeup, spray tan, fake hair, and fake teeth is far worse.

Eh; it was a costume contest. I was a little flipped when I saw the title. Just trying to make things seem worse then they really were.

+ dolly does have big tits, how do you portray that in a costume without fake boobies?

so I don`t mind if your kid loves dressing up and stuff, although spending over 1k dollars on a dress is ridiculous. I didn`t even spend that much on my wedding dress >.<. But they wax their eyebrows, whiten their teeth (for crying out loud they aren`t even going to have those teeth for long), and spray tan them. One mom goes to an auto body shop to tan her little girl. Some of these kids are less than a year old when they start. Seriously America, W.T.F. a kid screaming and crying because they don`t want to get spray tanned does not "enjoy" being spray tanned.

@Lillian: "The padded outfit is more like dress-up/costumes"

Oh, ok. I guess the next step is to start stuffing tube socks down the pants of five year old boys. They gotta keep up too, ya know. B-|

Yep that faith in humanity meter is about empty we had better establish world peace or something soon or the meter is gonna go empty shows like this keep going and we`re gonna live in a world of "snookis" and "situations" and at that point we might as well just push the button and end it all.

Embarrassed to admit that I`ve watched this show a few times, but anyway, they sometimes have competitions where they dress up as a random theme (western seems common, but sometimes the kids get to choose just any random theme for the non-beauty portion). This outfit was probably for the random theme, so she wanted to look more the part by using padding. I don`t think the padding is a big deal in that case because they don`t use it in the real competition (where they`re judged on beauty). It`s a much bigger deal that they are judged on beauty when they`re wearing pounds of makeup, fake hair, and fake teeth. The padded outfit is more like dress-up/costumes.

I`m all for talent contests, but when did we decide it was ok to make 4 year olds to look like cheap hookers? If they want to play "dress-up"...fine. let them do it at home without overbearing stage-moms pushing them, and adults judging them on their looks.
Too far?
Nope. Not unless you can prove it somehow harms the kid.

You might easily argue that it makes the kid stupid down the road, but being in the pageant to begin with would do that anyway.

This video is making a fuss over nothing.

It`s not even making a fuss, just encouraging discussion.

Whatever.

this stuff is great when the kids want to participate for fun. Unfortunately, 99% of the kids are coerced by their parents. These parents living through their children should be shot

This is gross. It`s seeping into "normal" everyday life too. The other day I was walking through a department store, and they had PADDED training bras, meant for girls of about 10-11 years old! WTF?!

shameful exploitation and sexualization.

and the mothers are certifiable. the damage they do to their daughters and the rest of their own families is deplorable. one mother (from arkansas, i am ashamed to say) bragged about spending $10,000 the previous year on her kid`s pagents.

why not put that money away for the kid`s education, or at least move out of the double wide trailer the family lived in? they`re all nuts.
