I remember reading a quote somewhere that ran somewhere along the lines of this:
"In America there is no lower class. Just temporarily embarrassed millionaires."
For that reason the USA will never see a revolution. The 99% legitimately thinks that they can join the upper crust.

"i love how immediately its assumed captkangaroo is a worthless lump that does nothing, wtf do you know about him? maybe he volunteers and donates to REAL causes? foodbanks, animal shelters. big brother/sister, maybe he shovels his elderly neighbors sidewalk or mows his lawn for him. all of these things are REAL well thought out causes, not media whoring pointless spectacles like this joke." Nice Republican response. That has nothing to do with fixing the economy, which is what the protest is about since you aren`t competent enough to figure that out for yourself.

There is not going to be a revolution inequality is what makes america. I`m sorry no matter how you put it not everyone can be rich, but guess what! the great part about america is all the opportunity people have. if one is willing to work hard enough they are able to move up in class. people are able to go from poverty to middle and sometimes upper class. I feel like Americans can be so lazy these days and everyone wants a free handout.

you say things like "wall street" like its one big entity, guess what? its made up of people trying to make it, not people saying "give me, you have so much and i have nothing its not fair" no poo thats the point, if you want it, work harder or be smarter do something no one has done before. Im blue collar but my brother is a financial success and we come from the same lower middle income family. people like you would crucify him for his drive and accomplishments and take what he has earned to supplement your own inadequacies. i think anger management would suit you better than social upheaval. obviously if there is cheating or criminal activity it should be punished, but thats for individuals not ideas.

This is great: the rich enjoying their whiskey while being mildly amused by the powerless parasites.

Stay strong, producers of the world!

I`ve never had a problem "cutting it" in a capitalist society. Things are humming along just fine tyvm. My problem is with the guy that gets 15years for bank robbery because he`s outta work and couldn`t feed his family while bankers toast the protesters and smirk at their chutzpah. Yeah I hate them, I really do. They`re greedy shiftless a-holes that would sell their mom for a profit. We`re left with a country littered with abandoned homes. A world economy in tatters. A generation that lost at least 1/2 of their investments (twice) and are on the cusp of retirement with a gutted 401K. But Wall Steets fine. They sip their Cristal and film angry peasants passing by. Knowing there isn`t a politician in DC that would turn their back on their contributions. I hate them. They suck so much.

lol you are such a drama queen, show me exactly where i was applauding the bankers? or anyone on this thread was? your type of thinking is what gets entire populations targeted for termination, just because you cant cut it in a capitalist world doesnt mean no one should be able too.

No bank should be considered "Too big to fail", that was a total fraud.

madest: I think we should throw in jail all the democrats that covered up the problems with fannie mae and freddie mac, when the auditors, as far back as 2004, were screaming for reform and predicting the housing market crash if nothing was done.

Those congressmen that voted for TARP should be held accountable as well as Obama`s banking cronies that administrated it.

I appreciate the protesters. Some payback should be earned. I suggest we throw all the bankers that gave away home loans without checking on applicants income in jail along with everyone that hired "robo-signers". Instead they`re toasting the protesters in their $5,000 Armani suits they bought with the bonus money we gave them for ripping us off. Ultimately their efforts will fail because dumb, apathetic people outnumber smart, caring people. You can applaud the bankers and mock the protesters but not because they don`t understand what they`re doing.

i would say when one mindlessly cheers and defends protesters just because they are protesting, not taking into account their purpose (or in this case lack of) that person is a victim of, and slave to popular (in their circles) opinion. use your brain, dont let it be used for you

As I watched this I began to think these people have created their own problem.I mean, how many hundreds of thousands of dollars in I-phones alone are in that crowd. Not to mention all the other technologies and overpriced hipster clothing.
Stop doling out megabucks to the corporations and they will fail. They`re the ones who keep big business in business and then get angry at the people they give their money to.
They are misguided and foolish.

So they started claiming 90,000 people would show, then a month later they were estimating 30,000. A week before this march they were begging for at least 2000 people to show, in the end they got about 200 people and many of the organizers `jumped ship` to save themselves embarrassment. That`s why it was just a bunch of people shouting and no cohesive message brought forth. Nice job there libs, there were more people protesting the execution of tory Davis last night than this so called protest.

A bathing program for hipsters it`ll not only make the air fresher it`ll stimulate the economy! When it`s finished we can move on to France and teach them how to use deodorant.

madest, a meaningless gesture is meaningless regardless of the passion behind it. Those who correctly identify it as meaningless are not lemmings. It takes a lot of meaningless passion to run off a cliff so who is the lemming?

@CaptKangaroo - Of course it means nothing if you and those like you sit on the sidelines mockingly jeering, "this is useless." Get involved. Encourage your mates to get involved. I would sooner call you and those of your ilk sheeple then the people who are getting out and doing something, anything.

Beats the crap out of a lemming that does nothing but mock the passionate in a comments forum. What magnificent idea have you come up with beyond that?

I have to say, things like this make me proud. I would love to see "the people" do this more.

Sadly, most of these corporations and wall st. fat cats know that Americans have a notoriously short attention span.

They are hoping to ride out this current wave of discontent so they can return to screwing the economy in new and awful ways.
