2/3 of a 6000 acre park? That fire has burned over 25000 acres since it started.

First wildfires all generate their own windstorm and move faster as it gets larger.

Second-Blame it on global warming if you want, but wildfires in Texas are not uncommon in the Summer. This was set by arson by 4 suspected teens being sought after by authorities. Otherwise this would not have happened. It`s always dry in that part of Texas, and more people live there than in the past. Therefore by numbers alone more homes to burn.

Third- I posted an article with links to scientific data showing without a doubt by CERN that the Sun is the major culprit of Global Warming. Guess the mods wanted to keep that hush hush and denied you the true info. The data is conclusive and replicated via Cloud Experiment. Blame the Sun.

[quote]...is there ANYTHING that could possibly happen with the weather that you would accept as proof that man-made global warming is not happening?

Well, since none of you global warming...excuse me, CLIMATE CHANGE alarmists could answer my question, I guess I won the point.

@grindinblade You might have a point if what you say were true. However, since the top climate scientists at the world`s leading climate research institute were caught red-handed committing blatant scientific fraud by colluding to falsify their data, as in "hide the decline," I consider it to be nothing but a leftist hoax. It`s no coincidence that the prescriptions for global warming align perfectly with the agenda of international socialism: lower the standard of living in the west, keep the 3rd world in primitive, pre-industrial poverty, and hand control of society - transportation, housing, manufacturing, etc. - over to a small cadre of "progressive" elites.

For shame I-A-B. I mean,
Clearly as you can SEE all of the global warming we have (which is a myth LOL) is caused by forest fires because God`s telling us we`re screwed because of gay people.

Also what makes everything even more absurd is that media and politicians say green is unsustainable without subsidies and government spending (but we give billions to nonrenewable resources). Seriously if remove all tax breaks, deductions, and loopholes clean energy is cheaper pkwh than coal, oil, and gas.

@ QualityJay - you`re right. Climate change doesn`t cause fires. But the ever increasing hot/dry weather does make them more likely. I`m in San Diego and we burn almost every year now in Sothern Cal.

Exactly grindinblade, It`s the same mindset that refuses to believe in evolution because it goes against their uninformed belief system. They don`t even want to know the science. There`s nothing to say to these people they repeat nonsense talking points given to them by politicians and clergy, not scientists.

It`s not about green peace, being a liberal hippy,or anti corporation...it`s about what science tells us about the data we have. The problem is so many Americans (and others) are gravely misinformed about the information by false reporting by media and politicians, that manipulates data and cite random weather patterns to discredit what 97% of climatologist know. Seriously read the actual reports by scientists, most of the information is never reported in the media.
I`m really not in green peace, just really pissed off after the GOP debates last night. (like seriously the one candidate, Huntsman, who listens to scientific reason is near last in polls)

Also more basic thermodynamics will tell you that increasing CO2 levels does cause inc. temp. Before anyone says "But CO2 levels naturally inc. and fall". While yes that is true, these changes occurred at 100 ppm in 5k-20k years, we have seen a 100ppm increase in 150 years. The combination of massive hydrocarbon burning and deforestation has increased the amount of CO2 being released, while driving down plant conversion of CO2. We are now seeing not only temp. effects, but also effects from the CO2 causing our oceans to become more acidic.
It is absolutely absurd to believe that humans massively producing greenhouse gases, while cutting down trees has no effect. These changes are occurring so rapidly that the earth is no able to adapt as it once did, if we do not consider our own impact we pave a grave future for ourselves.

@OldOllie How about 9/10 hottest years ever recorded (since 1880), happened since 2001. Or how about the sharp increase in atmospheric and ocean temp that occurred since the industrial revolution (greater than previous natural changes). Global warming messes with the climate (long term) but random weather (short term) can occur (Ex: 2010 extreme winter was due to a negative arctic oscillation that brought arctic air to lower latitude). However looking at global temp over several years we see temp is inc.
High temp. increases evaporation rates, also warmer atmospheres hold more water (basic thermodynamic laws).
Now with faster evaporation rates and more water in the atmosphere we see heavy rain in some areas (like the NE US recently), and stronger hurricanes. We also will see drought in other areas (ex texas), if conditions for precipitation (ie cooling to saturation) don`t occur.
Not believing global warming is ignoring facts same as saying evolution is wrong, or the ear

@ maddest: drat YOU! Global warming doesn`t cause wildfires. It`s a natural process that was here long before humans. And 2: man-made global warming if it exists at all, is beyond insignificant. And 3: global warming is a natural process that was here long before humans And 4: more $ for firefighters would have a negligible effect on these fires. We have had the worst drought in history. We need rain...
Thank you,
A Texan
P.S. I don`t support Perry

If Clamate Change is just a conspiracy,
could someone explain why scientists from all over the world, in differant countries, would put over such a hoax? What`s the profit in it for them?

And how is it a politician, with no scientific background, can deny global warmings existance and be more credable to you than actual scientists?

We here in Texas are enduring something that happens about every 50 years, all it takes is one careless person to burn away our beautiful trees. Many people have foregone watering their yards to save water, so the consequences we are facing now is these massive fires. I have had 3 fires in 3 days around my neighborhood.

"Climate Change", Old Ollie. The "Global Warming" moniker you use is from climate science deniers. AKA Christian republitards.

Let me see if I understand this:

Drought = global warming
Floods = global warming
Normal rainfall = global warming
Hot weather = global warming
Cold weather = global warming
Lots of snow = global warming
Lack of snow = global warming
Hurricanes = global warming
Lack of hurricanes = global warming
Normal weather = global warming
Sunrise = global warming
Sunset = global warming

To all you global warming Kool-aid drinkers, let me ask you, is there ANYTHING that could possibly happen with the weather that you would accept as proof that man-made global warming is not happening?

Or maybe God just likes Western Canada better. ¬__¬

Climate Change isn`t happening. I know `cause Rick Perry said so.
God will solve the deficit if we pray hard enough - Rick Perry said so.
And homosexuality is the same as alcoholism - Rick Perry said so.

He`ll probably have his kids campaigning for him.
Luke Perry, Katy Perry, Mathew Perry and the one he had with his black maid - Tyler Perry.

Family values people.

Governor Perry doesn`t believe in climate change so in his infinite wisdom he cut his states fire fighting budget this year by 75%. He also criticized FEMA from which he is now requesting assistance to help with these fires.
This is the man leading the host of republican candidates for president. The entire republican party lacks credibility and common sense.
