I agree with the protester, people who are enslaved and know they are enslaved are CLEARLY not nearly as enslaved as those who think they are free.

    Pathetic.

...Sooo she will walk around with a sign like this, apparently not seeing the irony that this is one of the few countries in the world that gives her the freedom to do exactly what she is doing.

@Authentic187 - No, the point is she has no point. It`s circular logic. There is no correct definition of "freedom", it`s an opinion. We could at least agree she is cute, though.

@Viking864 She is not talking about the freedom of speech. She is talking about freedom from corporations, from the shackle of capitalism.

Very abridged version of what Occupy Wall Street is about: The protestors see all different forms of corrupt government going on, from the corporate sector, to wall street banking, the housing market, homeland security and so on and so forth. The powers that be knew that financial ruin would come eventually, but failed to prevent it. Infact, there is widespread evidence courtesy of FOIA documents and Wikileaks cables that would insunate that the action of destroying the markets was intentional. You might ask: Why would they do that to us? Well, this wouldn`t be the first time in history that government wasn`t corrupt, so why would you assume it couldn`t happen now? This demonstration is only trying to point out the flaws and blatant evidence that exists that could radically change things in America. It just might be the reason why the Media refuses to cover it when thousands are involved. At the same time , they have no problem covering the protest in Greece over austerity measures.

But what about the austerity measures in the United states? They aren`t as brash and obvious as the euro zones, but they still exist. The wealthiest and most powerful men In America continue to gain more wealth and power while the rest of the nation is left to wait and see what happens. Civil liberties post 9.11 have been severely infringed upon in exchange for protection from the boogey men terrorists that the government want`s us to piss ourselves over. But what they won`t tell you is that people like Ron Paul are right. US foreign intervention doesn`t create allies, it pisses off our enemies and gains us entirely new ones. We live in the nuclear age, and we know very well that the middle east is heavily armed with nuclear weapons. However, we still have governmente officials assasinating terrorist suspects without proper investigation or rights. Both Bush and Obama signed orders that disclude al-qaida terrorists from the Geneva convention.

Anyone that is considered Al-qaida or a terrorist by the CIA is permissible to be killed in this war. That is a very very slippery slope breaking global treaties in pursuit of our own agenda which is half baked at best. The rest of the world is angry at America, and they hate America for what a select few men have done to them. People fear American invasion, and they will do what it takes to stop it from happening. The US has reached too far, and is pushing pakistan and israel into a status to cause complete nuclear destruction of the middle east and potentially the United States. The middle east would actually be better served according to the Project For A New American Century authors who have had considerable power over foreign, intelligence and monetary policy in the nation. This war does not effect them, in fact they grow from it. They have powers that didn`t exist before this nation building started. They have wealth that didn`t exist before. War is absolutely profitable.

And those same high commanding public servants that don`t seem to care that 9/11 was a complete failure on our part (whether it was as said in the commission or not), are the same ones with the powers to draft the financial policies in this nation by lobbying. Think of every major national disaster from 9/11 to the BP horizon oil spill, and you`ll find that one man benefited from all of it: Dick Cheney. Look the facts up. However through all of this, the average american is left to pay the bills for the misuse of power and resources in the government, while the ones with the loose wallets get bailed out. It is entirely unconstitutional what is happening behind closed doors in this nation, and it isn`t any wonder why the media likes to scare is into seeking protection and paying good money for it. Well not all of us are that transparent. We see what is going on and we aren`t going to be a part of it. We will reject propaganda. I won`t seek shelter from an invisible enemy

and I sure as hell am not okay with paying for it. I will not allow another cent of my money being stolen from me (Federal taxes aren`t legally binding in any way), and I certainly won`t pretend that my eroded civil liberties are a good trade. If you don`t realize just how moraly corrupted things are at this time in history, then you are falling for exactly what they want you to. They want us to believe that they represent us. They want us to believe that we are truly free. They want us to believe that we aren`t safe without them. But i`m not buying it, and either is anybody else down on wall street or any of the other thousands of protests across the nation. The only media attention is criticism of the movement that it is "scattered" and "without purpose". There is no primary objective because there is just too much wrong to only push one point. We all have our own reasons and are simply asking for the voice to be heard. We are the 1%.

At that age such wisdom to be had and the whole world has been seen that they are all artists trapped in this society. We must heed these wise words.

    Well, THAT got them thinking!!

It`s so sweet to see all those protesters trying to be F`ing original and hoping to get picked up by the internet, become famous, go on talk shows, earn money and poo-ing on the people the so called protested for.

A difference is made by looking for those who are responsible, trying to get the law to make them pay. If that doesn`t work either take out the responsible party yourself or shut up.
Do not go around the internet looking for out of context quotes to put on a banner and make yourself an attention whore.

    V understood this.
