Tim Burton should do Batman again, but with Depp as Batman, Robin, the Joker and the Riddler.

Wait, Johnny Depp in a Tim Burton film? OMG THIS IS GOING TO BE AMAZING! Why did it take so long for this to happen? This is new and fresh, Burton, Depp, wow, I`m impressed </sarcasm>

Big fan of Dark Shadows, Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. Got to admit I just cannot picture Depp as Barnabas.

Used to watch Dark Shadows when I was a kid in the early 70`s. DARK SHADOWS is the gran-daddy of Goth!

I think that Burton`s formula simply stands out more because it`s not the same manufactured crap that Hollywood consistently pumps out. Every director has a style they stick to, his is just more colorful.

Another "spectaular" effort from Tim `same again` Burton.

Sunday Scour: You`re an idiot! It is NOT from Alice. Again, no Jew-Fro. Plus if you look at the Yahoo home page you`d know that It`s for Dark Shadows. In what part of Alice did Depp look like that? Not one part...Ever. Ever.....Ever.

I`m surprised at how much he reminds me of the original Barnabas. He actually looks a lot less Burtonish that I would have thought.

@NanGoneBanan Yup. You are correct. Being wrong can great (after the embarassment is over), but ONLY if someone gives you the correct facts. I am blushing with embarassment, but still, thank you.
(At least I didn`t make myself out to be a COMPLETE dumbass with my erroneous claims...)(<-- See what I did there? Irony: It sucks.)

@SinfulDeity In the behind the scenes extras the director seemed to imply that he was enthusiatic about doing Through the Looking Glass, but I don`t see it on netflix. I hope he does make it.

@ALL DOUBTERS

In what other film does Johnny Depp wear 3-inch diameter blue eyeshadow, white face paint, and co-star with Mia Wasikowska? It IS from 2010 Alice in Wonderland starring Johnny Depp.

I assumed the "beating a dead horse" comment was because they`re making a movie based on a TV show that`s been cancelled for 40 years.

I can`t tell, is he supposed to be Michael Jackson or Liza Minelli?

Anyway, Dark Shadows was an AWESOME show!
I`d race home from school to watch it!
Great theme music too.

I thought they had given up on Dark Shadows... It is a great old soap opera which they won`t do justice. As usual.

You`ve got it friend. Spent my entire life working with what Poe left me, and I`d love to believe this was an intentional reference, though I personally think it was supposed to be much less interesting: That it was simply a `Toe into the pond that is the Hatter`s madness.` Either way, we`re talking about it, and Alice (in all of her incarnations) has always been a thinker... or "Tripper" for those who follow in the author`s footsteps.
Also, someone mentioned "Through the Looking Glass". Are they making a sequel to Burton`s AIW? I`d love to know!

@3justme3, SinfulDeity THANK YOU! That`s been pissin` me off since I first heard it.

@SinfulDeity I think the Poe reference makes a lot of sense considering the author. It would have been a meta joke referencing the real world from Wonderland.

Thank you both; now I can sleep at night.

@DurangoDoug It may be from the sequal Through the Looking Glass. The hair in the movie is a wacky wig, the sideburns must be his own hair. The person next to him looks like the actress who played Alice, albeit not exactly like because this is not still frame from the movie. Perhaps I do suffer from mercury poisoning, but I believe it`s from one of the two Alice moives, behind the scenes. I`m assuming the `jew` in your description is justified because you are a Jewish and not because it was a stereotype of Judaism or some such. Now, for god`s sake can SOMEONE PLEASE tell me how a raven is like a writing desk. Is it like `Who is John Gault?` from Atlas?

@sunday_scour: DurangoDoug got you there... But the best answer I`ve heard for the "Raven/Writing Desk" conundrum is that Edgar Allan Poe worked on both. To be fair though, the answer in the Alice universe could easily be "Cantaloupe" and make equal sense.

That`s Johnny Depp on the scene of Alice in Wonderland. This is a finale scene that took place on some aweswome looking location. I loved that movie! Very strong style, not like any other interpretation I`ve seen. I ought to read those books some time. BTW, does ANYONE know how a raven is like a writting desk?

"Isn`t a shadow by definition dark? "

The primary character in the "dark shadows" show is a vampire - not a sparklpyre like in Twilight, but the traditional undead vampire.
