This is a prime example of what is wrong with the world. The media hardly ever does stories on people doing good. We only see hideous creatures like this woman. Where are the stories of the people who work tirelessly to make life better for their fellow man?

"I used to be disgusted with parents that tricked their kids into believing Santa Claus. Then I realized everyone grows up."
THis woman grew up and now she believe or even worse, lies to kids about raising the dead.

And Samsquanch, its always great to find ways to motivate kids to be better, but lying to them that they were born bad and commanded to be well, and that they have to love and fear the creator or they and their family will go to hell, would be making them do good for all the wrong reasons. Not to speak to the disgusting, immoral, and abuse that we impose when we teach this to children.

Francakes- Yeah, but most of the parents that send their kids to these things were taught the same things themselves as kids. Sure, some will realise it`s a load of bullsh*t, but others wont.

Calm down. These are kids and they will grow up. I used to be disgusted with parents that tricked their kids into believing Santa Claus. Then I realized everyone grows up.

And that`s how the teaching are meant to be viewed: In the eyes of God, we`re children, and we don`t know any better. We suck. But, as long as we try our best, and learn from our mistakes, and do what we can to help one another improve in their mistakes, then it`s okay.
Sitting around, bashing people because they aren`t going to church on a regular basis is not the teachings.

See, that`s the problem with Christianity and the teachings of Christ.
If you actually consider that, in Christianity, the Gospel is supposed to be the word and teachings of Christ, the old testament is supposed to be just proof of the Messianic prophecies, and the new testament is just to be proof of the teachings in action (now, don`t bash on me for being a Christian...it`s the way Christianity was SUPPOSED to be taught, by it`s teacher), the general principal is: Be nice to each other. You`re going to screw up, but that`s okay...everyone screws up. But, just try your bestest.
When Christ said something to the effect of, "A man who thinks about adultery has already committed adultery" what he meant was, "Your boned. There`s no getting around human instinct, so just don`t worry about it. Try your best."
Do you admonish a child for not being able to reproduce the Mona Lisa in kindergarten? No, you praise them on their efforts, and their willingness

Can Christians just drat off already. And please don`t say `these are isolated extremist Christians`. No. they`re Christians who are taking the bible seriously and literally - not interpreting to their own liking.

So if you are Christian and you disapprove of this, ur an idiot. Mostly because you are Christian.

lolboy & gerry: Admittedly, I didn`t watch the whole thing, so I`ll take your word for it.

I thought the whole exercise was a bit weird, but animals `coming back to life` is nothing new, especially with CPR, I wouldn`t call that a resurrection though.

There are examples of people waking up, after being declared dead, in the morgue. Link, Link

So bizarre things do happen, I wouldn`t call them all `miracles` though.

That`s cruel. Singaporean kids, will believe absolutely anything you tell them, especially if they think it`s coming from a person in authority.

If she`s so confident about the ability of her faith to restore life to the dead, let her put her head under a truck wheel.

CJ
" She`s using a role-playing metaphor for what being `born again` means spiritually. "
She told them she knows people who had pets die, then they prayed and their pets came back. I think that qualifies as teaching kids to believe in magic. I realize she`s a bit bonkers and not representative of most christians. But that`s how stereotypes are born, a couple flamboyant members end up being the poster-kids for their thing. Believe me I don`t like those mincy, foppish drag queens being the stereotype for gay people, but if I`m honest I have to admit they`re out there.

@Crakr: Yeah, I watched it thinking that, but she kinda blows that theory away when she says "You want to hear a secret? I know some kids who have prayed for their dead animals and they came back to life again. Now not when they have been dead for ten years and in the ground, but after they just died. They laid hands on them and they came back to life."

So yeah, she`s teaching these kids about literal raising of the dead.

Something is missing here I believe.

Many Christians refer to being `born again`, meaning that their old life of sin dies and they gain a new life in Christ.

I seriously doubt this woman believes that she or anyone else can perform an actual resurrection. Nor do I believe she is teaching these kids that they can do so. She`s using a role-playing metaphor for what being `born again` means spiritually.

I didn`t say Dawkins was insulting/ridiculing. But he actively seeks to make people atheist, thereby making him an antitheist, he is offended by the thought of a God.

And you must understand that religion for most, is taught. It`s something they have been raised with and it works for them. It helps them make difficult decisions, it helps them have good morals, and it appeases their fear of death.

I, for one, don`t need a book of medieval practices to tell me what to and not to do, and then pick and choose what I want to follow out of that book. Why bother reading a book if you`re not going to follow it`s directions?

If we could obey the laws as loosely as 100% of Christians follow the Bible. The amount of ridiculous "sins" and "abominations" in the Bible are nearly countless... Like, marry your rapist... Put your daughter in a river when she`s on her period... Don`t eat animals who chew cud (goats, cattle, rabbits)

I have nothing against god himself, if he exists, hes probably a pretty cool guy. Also have nothing against ppl who believe in god, you can believe in whatever you want really, not like I care.

What I despise though, is RELIGION. I could not care less whether you believe or not in some dude who might or might not have lived thousands of years ago. Its all up to you, I dont give a poo.
But religion though... Thats different. Religions try to convert ppl to their ideas, like with the above video. Religions kill, torture, lock up, and enslave people of different beliefs. God, whether he exists or not, hasnt done much recently as far as I can tell. Nothing major at least, Im sure most will agree. But religions have caused wars, the inquisition, women getting stoned to death, ...
And if that wasnt enough, they try as hard as they can to brainwash people, as many young kids as they can. Have you ever seen atheists hold mandatory camps to brainwash kids who believe in god?
Antitheist = NO GOD YOU MUST BELIEVE THERE IS NO GOD OR ELSE UR DUMB! (example: Richard Dawkins)
What`s wrong with Dawkins? He doesn`t ridicule people off hand like that. He`s brutally practical and that is uncomfortable for many.

Here`s a better question... what other peaceful way is there to convince others to abandon superstition? Should we sit down with each of them and painstakingly talk them out of every argument, which they still may not (as is their right of course) accept?

*I* will point and laugh because I`m not as patient a person as Dawkins is. ...because I went through a period where I asked those same questions and I accepted that what made sense. Why keep re-visiting them? To me all religious arguments sound like "1+1=3", I can`t help but laugh at that.

Luckily where I live religion is massively downplayed, it`s a non-issue.

I think that if you know everything about life and the universe, you can confirm that god dont or exist. And for religion, my belief, they all man-made for a spiritual or domination purpose.

Atheists are ok, Antitheists are the people who turn Atheism into something as dangerous as a religion and push their disbelief on everyone. I say dangerous because very rarely would you ever hear an Atheist use religion as a motive for a crime. This applies especially for the Muslim World where perfect women have acid thrown at them because the husband found a loophole in his bible and wants a divorce.

George Carlin`s 3 Commandments:
1. Thou shalt always be honest and faithful to the provider of thy nookie.
2. Thou shalt try real hard not to kill anyone, unless of course they pray to a different invisible man than you.
3. Thou shalt keep thy religion to thy self.

Deviros, I didn`t mean to make it sound as if I was insulting you. Not my intent. I was merely playing with what you said lol. If you read what I wrote afterward you would clearly see I`m not really an Atheist, I do have some spitituality.

I don`t know why you`re denying being angry at Madest for his comment against Christianity. Clearly you wrote the quote to let him know how offended you were and you got your revenge.

And my words weren`t full of bile. They were reality. I don`t believe in your beliefs, so I don`t know how else to describe it, without making myself sound dumber than someone who believes in magical people. Zombie Jesus, multiplied fish?, water into wine, walking on water, healing the blind....sounds magical.

Also, I have some spirituality. And for future notice, a lot of Christians don`t know the difference:
Atheist = No deity.
Antitheist = NO GOD YOU MUST BELIEVE THERE IS NO GOD OR ELSE UR DUMB! (example: Richard Dawkins) <

And just a future note:
When arguing about religion, it really helps to use facts instead of nasty generalizations and insulting the person you`re arguing against.
Example:
"Carbon dating shows that the earth is much older than the bible suggests it is."
And
"Carbon dating has been show to be a false and inaccurate way to measure how old something is."
Rather than: Atheists spread hate rhetoric, Christians are ignorant, and "You`re stupid."

@Gerry:

I am sorry that you`ve had such experiences. Those people are not what Christianity is about. Humans have a disturbing habit of growing fanatical when massed together, and they begin hearing things that play to their own fears.

For the westboro people, they fear their own children being gay, or even them themselves, yet, homosexuality is not black and white. The intricacies of biblical teaching on it are not relevant here.

For the "pray away the gay" it`s the same thing - they are doing that out of fear.

The bible - even taken truly _literally_ calls on us to love others. Not hate, not condemn and certainly not to rally outside a place and spew vile anger at a people for one reason or another.

As for the pantless women (wait, that`s not what i meant!), multiple wives, and the snakes, and the dancing? That`s completely ridiculous. No argument here.

If this really worked, why didn`t she bring in an actual corpse instead of having some little kid pretend to be dead?

Batmanners, I was a Christian most of my life, and it wasn`t until someone had corrected an ignorant statement of mine by saying "Hindus and Buddhists don`t believe everyone else is wrong[or will get harmed after death or something like that tbh it was 4+ years ago, I forgot exactly]" that made me consider both religions instead. I`ve been a Buddhist(+Atheist) for maybe 3 years now and I`m a lot more of a peaceful person now, it takes a LOT for something to truly bother me. Before, I hardly ever went to church and I was still super fearful of even thinking something "bad". So I`m glad for people like you who show others that there are other options. Though it`s unlikely to changes anyone`s ways, you never know xD The person I was speaking to didn`t consider it`d have such an effect on me. I thanked her for it over a year later :P

@Batmannrs: Except I don`t actually insult anyone. The fact that it goes both ways was actually my point, so thank you for proving it.

You can go back through all of my comments on here, and see that I don`t insult anyone, I don`t "make fun of them," and I don`t get angry when "atheists" insult me or assume that all of us are as crazy as this.

I can be offended at whatever i choose, but the issue here is not offense - it is respect. Your words are laced with bile, while mine are not, yet you accuse me of being the one full of hate - how does that make sense? Perhaps you should examine the fog surrounding your eyes before you bring up that which you perceive to block my own vision..

I am sorry that you have such an issue with the concept of "magical people," but it is the attitude that you are exhibiting that shines such a harsh light of atheism. Perhaps you should consider that.

All that`s left is pity. Lots of pity.

Am I capable of feeling disgust? Yes. Unfortunately I feel that too.

Way to upset me IAB. Can we not instead have a video making fun of this video? IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK!?!

I don`t know how karma works really, but nothing but good things happen to me, nobody really dislikes me (nor am I friends with everyone, I`m not crazy).

I think that going wrong and a negative attitude will attract negative thoughts, negative people and stuff will simply happen because you`re not doing what you should be doing.

I go to work, I smile, I laugh, I think of ways to better myself at work and at home, I respect everyone, especially if I don`t like them. (I used to have a very short temper,, still do, but I learned to hide it, especially important in the military when superiors suck ass)

True. I`d go so far as to say most aren`t "this way".
But if not "this way" then it`s the christians with the pray-away-the-gay or it`s the ones that do the literal interpretation of the Bible or the ones like Westboro Baptist Church or the ones that have multiple wives or the ones that don`t allow any dancing {Souther Baptist} and still don`t like women to wear pants.

Pretty much all of them loopy. 1-on-1 any chistian is usually a decent person, but get them in groups and LOOK OUT!

You should all look into Bhuddism/Hinduism.

It`s not my religion, but I`ve looked into it, and it`s seriously a cool, calm, collected way to have faith/spirituality, a peace of mind and nobody can ever make fun of you. I do practice this, even though it isn`t intentional.

-Nothing unbelievable to believe.
-The only thing you have to do is look for ways to improve yourself, sometimes by meditating.
-You don`t go to hell.
-You don`t go to heaven, you achieve Nirvana.
-The entire belief is based around your karma, -Not technically a theism. There are Hindu gods/deities, but none in Bhuddism.
-You must never intentionally get negative karma because you have some positive to spare. Karma is a balance between good and evil. If you do good and don`t see results, don`t give up.

One good thing of positive karma is that nothing ever really bothers you. An insult to you is negative karma on the other person, I very rarely have anything bug me to

Listen Deviros, if you`re willing to believe silly stories about magical people is FACT, you aren`t allowed to get offended when sane people make fun of you mmmkay?

Also, you should have read what you wrote.

"Christians": Generalizing and insulting "Atheists" for their beliefs (lack thereof) for no good reason whatsoever, while spreading hatred, disgust, and intolerance the world over.

I turned it into a mad gab, it works.

Gerry, please remember that not all Christians are this way. We`re not all Westboro and insanity. This is madness. I think that they are taking Ephesians 2, and brutalizing every bit of what it actually says.

And if it`s supposed to be metaphorical, they are failing miserably.

Oh, and Madest:

"Atheists: Generalizing and insulting people for their beliefs for no good reason whatsoever, while spreading hatred, disgust, and intolerance the world over."

Stereotypical enough for you? Good. Enjoy YOUR stereotype.

Now in addition to the sadness when kitty dies, the kid can feel like a complete failure when he lacks the faith to bring him back.
