If you have anything of value you want to leave in your hotel room while you"re out, it"ll be safer under your mattress.

Canadians do NOT say "aboot", people who are faking a Canadian accent say "aboot". Real Canadians say "aboat". Listen closer next time...

I got a funny feeling they are not attached to anything, I`m probably wrong. However I wouldn`t be surprised to find you could walk off with the whole thing, looks no heavier than a microwave.

All electronically locked safe`s that are put into hotels have an override code. It`s the same principle as locking your key in your room. They always have a way in without having to smash the door down. This just happens to be a lazy hotel who haven`t bothered to change the default override to something more complex.

1. Check in wearing a solid gold Rolex.

2. Leave a grumpy in a Rolex box, and put it in the safe.

3. Hide a camera so you can post the ensuing hilarity in I-A-B!

Lol. How ridiculous...

... and the whole safe-in-hotel-room as well. Do you have so many valuables that you must put them in a safe, yet are not sufficiently protected by the hotel room locks themselves?

If you don`t trust the hotel, why would you trust the hotel safe?

"Well now I know what I will be doing. I will find disgusting things to leave in there for the next person... like a ham sammich or something."

You could do that all along... How does this change anything?

or the hotel is lazy and did not set up a override password and kept the default when they bought the safe

I have this fanny pack thing that goes under clothing that I use when travelling internationally. I keep my passport and most of my money in there.

Although I`ve never been in a hotel with a safe, it`s good to know. I think it`d be a better idea if they had a master key that works on every safe rather than a default password.

if don`t trust the hotel and hotel staff to either 1. have a working lock and a door that cant easily be broken into, or 2. not steal things from your room if they are left out.
then why are you staying at that hotel?
