She`s a dumbass. In her quote towards the bottom she says that "... she supports breast cancer."

Every school should have uniforms. Fewer distractions like this. You`re there to learn.

It is not about the message of the bracelet. It is about the method of delivery. It is inappropriate in a school setting to wear a t-shirt that said the same thing as the bracelets, and thus the restriction. Most kids don`t buy them because they personally support breast cancer research. They buy it because they think it`s funny to say "boobies." In any case, it is not appropriate for an education setting.

I have a patch on my purse that says "FEEL UR BOOBIES" in order to raise awareness that not enough females check themselves. People are confused at first but most understand after a second or 2.
It`s funny, and it gets people thinking about it.

Let kids have fun. So they are a small distraction. Kids get distracted anyways. There isn`t a single child that pays attention 100% of the time. If they`re going to lose focus it might as well be for a good cause.

As a teacher, I must say, I like the I love boobies bracelet. IT supports a cause that is in much need of supporting, and most of all, face it... Half the kids have this bracelet. So,,, If there are so many, it is not really a distraction any more.

Eh, middle school might be a tad young for the wording. High school I`d say go for it, but not middle school. For middle school I think they need something a bit more tactful.

As a teacher, there are better ways to support causes. The slogan is inappropriate for school settings. The kids don`t wear them to support BCA they wear them for the fact they have the word boobies on them.

A few years back at the grocery store I donated a few bucks towards the NBCF. A friend asked me why, to which I replied, "I like boobs." Why wouldn`t you want to support something you like? Also, just put one of these on the bracelets:

@tatripp- yeah they probably would be, but they shouldn`t be. Not enough dudes know that they need to keep on top of checking their balls for growths, and it is a disease that affects males @ 15-35. No reason to let a mass prudishness cut other people`s boobs and balls off. Ditto for stds and good info on safer sex. I would fully support an "i love penises" or an "i love balls" campaign. wtfn?

    Really, breast cancer awareness bracelets..

Honestly, breast cancer awareness in itself is a scam. Everyone is largely ALREADY aware.

Breast cancer is also NOT the biggest cancer killer of women, but is treated as such, because of awareness drives.

Lung cancer and heart disease actually kill more women per year than breast cancer, But I don`t see money being poured into Awareness days and marches and whatnot for them...

I don`t think the bracelets are tasteful at all. We aren`t trying to find a cure for breast cancer so you have more "boobies" to stare at. We`re trying to find it so we can save lives. I think this is childish..

Isn`t it possible these kids don`t really give a damn about any cause? They just want to say `boobies` or `tatas`. Did they wear the bands before when they said `breast cancer`? Most of them, no. It`s just a chance to thumb their nose at authority...of which I heartily approve!
