Seriously. This just serves to buttress the fact that just because one calls it so, all creation is not intrinsically art.

My faith in Santa is now officially shaken. He`s allowed Himself to be made into cheap faith-based art, specifically designed (although poorly) to elicit a very specific emotional response. Shameful. :-(

What`s next, Santa, underwear commercials?! Guest spots on Home Shopping Network?!

Art is something of meaning and value to society. While some art may be indecipherable, being indecipherable does not make something art; or at the very least, does not make something purported to be art relevant, of talent, or creative. Some architects design flawed structures. While their structures may indeed still be considered a building - the building is of no real value. People don`t want to make this distinction about art because we all want to be artists.

This was hanging in a Christian bookstore? This item would be profanation in another context like a college kid`s dorm room or my house - for laughs. Cause you know, blasphemy is fun

I would buy that, just for the blasphemy.
It`s been years since i left christianity so my theology is rusty, but shouldn`t Jesus be mad at santa for stealing his spotlight?

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Also what you just said is pretty much the same exact thing that was said to countless legendary artists today.

Santa obviously represents commercialism and Western society (specifically American society), showing our... return to religion after the 9/11.. attacks....

    Or not.

It`s ok not to like religion or a particular religion. However, to just be an ignorant fool - that`s NOT ok. In other words - "I thought Santa & Jesus were the same". What a fu**ing moron.

Oh it all makes sense now. It was actually santa on a test flight of a new sleigh. Everything went horribly wrong and he had to abandon sleigh (via magical powers of course) and it crashed into both towers. IT WAS SANTAS FAULT! (this makes more sense than `yeah it was terrorists and poo`)
