@Angilion - ... and now you are arguing semantics, yet another poor debate tactic.

Whatever term you want to use - class... warfare, conflict, struggle - everyone whose head isn`t up their ass knows what it means. Maybe it`s different where you live.

Like many people who operate in theory rather than reality, you have a great ability to say a lot yet say nothing.

If you are living in the 21st century, you obviously skipped over the 20th, which is the only one relevant to this post.
@Angilion - My silly fantasies? Class conflict is a fantasy? What century are you living in?
21st.

You, however, are in the 18th. You just fail to realise it because you have no idea what "socialist class warfare" is. You`re now talking about class conflict, which is something completely different. I`m not sure you even know enough to know that, since you refer to them as the same thing.
ongratulations on the medieval reference that was totally irrelevant to the conversation.
It`s relevant and I explained why. Your ideological faith prevents you understanding the relevance, but that`s not my problem.
AND you`re not actually debating anything I said
You might think so, but since you`ve proven yourself unable to understand even when examples are provided, it`s not surprising that you`re wrong about that too.

@jtrebowski - I wasn`t "blaming" anyone for class warfare. I said it`s a flawed premise that all people who have money earned it in an unethical way. That happens to be a leftist premise... I blame both parties for the fiscal stupidity and otherwise crony behavior of our federal gov`t. Overall, we probably agree more than we disagree.

And the "funny" references. Both poor debate tactics. AND you`re not actually debating anything I said, which is a another poor debate tactic. Come on man!

lolz, thanks @jtr - Naw, the llama refused to testify, they had to drop the charges. But I`m still banned from the petting zoo, oh the injustice!

Hey, @jtr I read your comments, you`re doing good in the thinking department, sorry for the cheap comment earlier, eh?

Remember: it was John MacCain who TRIED to reform things back in 2006: for his efforts the Dems called him a racist. Nice eh?
@Angilion - seriously? are you retarded? yes that`s right, "socialist class warfare", Karl f`in Marx 101. I would think someone from Europe would know better.
You`re getting even funnier. Well done!

I know history better than you do. You know your silly fantasies better than I do. Perhaps you`d like to study the European history you think you`re referring to? I`ve already provided you with an example of actual socialist class warfare, which bears no resemblence to wanting a society that doesn`t resemble early medieval fuedalism.

Oh, and nogroupthink, before you start blaming Liberal for "class warfare" exclusively (because you can see bullpoo pn both sides) maybe you should also consider the class warfare being waged by the conservatives. Conservatives are trying to reduce the number of poorer people who register to vote, claim that unemployment benefits discourage people from working, and think that if someone owns a tv or computer, that they must noy be all that poor, etc etc

"...and I don`t subscribe to any black or white socio-political philosophy."

Sorry. It must have been your comments about "Liberals" and "leftists" that led me to assume. I apologize.

@jtrebowski - I like how you assume things. Like that I don`t think anything needs to change. You can`t possibly know what I think because I haven`t stated it. I agree with everything you just listed, how`s that? However, as my name implies, I can see the bullpoo on both sides and I don`t subscribe to any black or white socio-political philosophy.
If it`s funny, then disprove it.
Any sentence containing the phrase "socialist class warfare" does very well at disproving itself.

We`ve had almost pure capitalism in England - feudalism and serfdom. It took the worst plague in recorded history, a revolt and generations of campaigning to get rid of it. Even then, there wasn`t any bona fide class warfare. For that, you`d have to look at The Terror in France.

Nogroupthink: What needs to change? Are you serious? How about getting our politicians hands out of Wall Streets pockets? How about demanding that next time one of these "too big to fail" institutions ask for a bailout, we tell them to go fark themselves? How about we demand that Wall St, stop manipulating the price of gold and siver? Or that companies like Goldman Sachs don`t bet against their clients? What about those insane bonuses they gave themselves during and after being bailed out? Sure go ahead and pretend things don`t need to change, and I`ll take my "leftist mob mentality", at laugh out loud...at you. smh.

@jtrebowski A) I wasn`t referring to you specifically. B) envy doesn`t have to mean you want what others have, it can also mean you want others to not have what they have... And what is your point anyway? What is it you think needs to change? All you`ve done so far is reply negatively to other people rather than actually stating a position.

@Angilion: If the rich "evaded" all their taxes, it wouldn`t count in the "who paid what" calculation now would it? Eh?

LEts see: @madest is still teh stupid, @jtrebowski is still unable to think, AJ and CJ still rule!

Little has changed since I`ve been away! lolz!

I sure Hope I get a new PC darn soon, I cannot see diddly with this one I`m using. (16 colours, 480x640 resolution...)

and besides, I`m not saying that the lower income brackets don`t pay enough tax. I actually think taxes should be higher for the top brackets. However, this bs, generic, hate-the-rich crap is typical leftist mob mentality that has been around for centuries. Envy is just as bad as greed.

@jtrebowski - I did not say "51% of the country pays no taxes" I said the bottom 50% pays almost nothing (in terms of percentage of total tax revenue) That percentage has been between 2.5% to 4% for the past 10 years, not just in 2009 like that poor-attempt-at-rationalization link you sent.

@Angilion - How is that funny? Apparently not much of a student of history are you?... Sure, the media loves to point out a few super rich people that have avoided taxes (you are supposed to hate these people and then assume that everyone with money avoids taxes and is to be hated). But they don`t often give you the real numbers of how much tax money the "rich" DO pay in this country. The top 25% pay almost 90% of all personal income taxes, while the bottom 50% pay almost nothing.

"From each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed"

One cannot embrace absolute capitalism. You`d be just as doomed as the soviets.

It seems the people have had enough, sort of, although I doubt they`ll escalate the protest. Living conditions are still good. Hopefully your country will survive.

If it`s funny, then disprove it.

Liberals want people who earn more money, by working for it, to pay more of the money they earned. That`s not freedom. That`s making someone pay for success.
@Angilion - exactly how much monetary confiscation is acceptable in your mind to those who happen to be more successful than you?
Well, I wouldn`t go as far as saying that their tax burden should be as much as mine, but it should be more than nothing.
the flawed premise of socialist class warfare is that those who have more earned it in an unethical way.
You`re funny. Either deliberately, in which case I`m laughing with you, or unintentionally, in which case I`m laughing at you.

"socialist class warfare". Good one. Very funny.

@Angilion - the other thing liberals conveniently forget to mention is that while the US has relatively low PERSONAL income tax rates, the CORPORATE tax rates are some of the highest in the world, which means more money out of the industries that create jobs and wealth in the first place.

It might be true that the richest 1% of taxpayers pay 35% of the total taxes (and it might not - I don`t assume it`s true just because it`s been said), but I`d be surprised if most of the truly rich didn`t evade tax a great deal, completely if they can. That`s what accountants and tax havens are for.

You`re wrong garbug. Protesting is working and always has worked. From women`s to civil rights to ending the Vietnam war, we have protested our way into or out of sticky situations. We are a representative democracy. Our politicians will hear the protesters if they want to keep their jobs.
