Looks a bit sketchy, but you never know. What do you think, I-A-B?

@GasMaskKid: Was the plane flying backwards when they filmed it? Look at the clouds below, bud.

This is pretty obviously a legit video - who would go through all the trouble of faking this just so they could show off a white blur?

(In before "it`s not hard in After Effects")

@kw112 - you can see it the first time around, when the video "darkens" it`s actually the second time the UFO is shown. They just increased the contrast to make it stand out more.

And by UFO, I mean condensation in the jet stream, not alien cloud ship.

I`m not the type to rule out life on other planets and such, but I don`t think this is an alien space craft. UFO, yes, `cause it`s an "Unidentified Flying Object" -- none of us knows what it is. But I guess I would question why it would be flying lower than the plane, and why it is so small. From that close, you`d be sure to catch more detail and it would presumably be much larger.

if there`s an entire religion with billions of followers that`s based a zombie (eating flesh, drinking blood, raising from the dead).. then why can`t there be UFO`s?

For thousands of years, humans have reported seeing and being harassed by "demons" and "evil spirits". As those reports have diminished, the reports of "Aliens" has increased. Has Satan updated? Just saying......

Guys it is a "UFO" because none of know what it is. because "UFO" stands for Unidentified Flying Object, Which does not mean that is is an Alien spacecraft it could be anything from a pie dish to a military Aircraft flying by at Mach 1 or higher

lol,it seems that the "governement" been doing a good job, isnt it?..more than half the people in here blurted some junk about lights and reflections...and yes,is a weather baloon actually,i`m sure of it,is elongated `cuz is traveling verry fast, isnt it?!

RE: the blur.

The blur is easily explained as being due to the shutter time of the camera.

The longer the shutter is open, and the faster the object is going, the longer the blur.

At the extreme end of this are those time-lapse images of stars in the sky, or the lights of traffic on a night-time road.

Whatever the light is (object or reflection), the blur isn`t a mystery.

They probably wonder why we use such archaic means of travel.
Maybe there was something to "The Gremlins" which plagued WWII bombers.

What people fail to remember here is that this person is on a plane and the plane is moving very fast.....it was probably a bit of cloud or a bird or something that when passed very fast (as one is by a plane) looks blurred

jimmyholster - unless the reflection was off something below the plane and the wing blocked off the reflection. Reflection seems most likely if you remember how fast the plane is going.

I agree with Thetas` post, half a dozen down. The argument over whether or not a meteorite can appear to travel horizontally isn`t all that relevant to this video of a couple of pixels of blur. Maybe interesting, but not relevant to this video.
you`re going to act like you know what you`re talking about but then go and ask why this it is relevant? an object that`s velocity is not enough to escape earths gravitational pull will NOT be able to travel horizontally at that height...period.
Meteors can easily exceed the speed needed to escape the Earth`s gravitional field even if they were going straight upwards. Which they aren`t, obviously.

In short, an object approaching Earth at a shallow angle can be travelling much slower than "escape velocity" and still escape. Its velocity will be altered by Earth`s gravity, but not necessarily by enough to be noticable in a few seconds of movement.

"The Great Daylight 1972 Fireball (or US19720810) was an Earth-grazing meteoroid which passed within 57 kilometres (35.4 miles) of the surface of the Earth at 20:29 UTC on August 10, 1972. It entered the Earth`s atmosphere in daylight over Utah, United States (14:30 local time) and passed northwards leaving the atmosphere over Alberta, Canada. It was seen by many people and recorded on film and by space-borne sensors."

Click on the links (which I`ve used to highlight the important information here). Check and f*cking mate. Now go to bed.

Hey, guys- Yes, you, the ones arguing over what this is. It`s a pixelated, tiny white streak that lasts the whole of half a second on a really poor quality youtube video. This is not proof of extraterrestrial life by a long shot. You can`t say whether it`s a meteor or a bird or a video artifact or the product of 5 minutes in after effects. It`s a pooty, worthless video that doesn`t show anything and it`s not worth getting up in arms over.

The meteor hypothesis is plausible, but improbable, for these reasons:

It is possible for an object to orbit whilst in the Earth`s atmosphere, although to do so would require a constant acceleration to counteract the air resistance. Since meteors can only accelerate using gravity, this is out.

It`s conceivable (again, highly improbable) that, if it were a meteor, it had a horizontal trajectory for the duration of passing the window. The odds of this happening, however, are...you figure it out.

Finally, if the meteor were to be passing the plane horizontally, its size upon entering the atmosphere would have to have been huge...there`s no way it could have entered undetected.

Conclusion: not a meteor. Could have been a government test project, but unlikely...Best analysis: FAKE.

Meteors do enter the atmosphere and occasionally miss the earth to exit the atmosphere and go back into space see: The Great Daylight 1972 Fireball.

You do not have to be in the atmosphere to be affected by Earth`s gravity see: The Moon

Breakdown of the video:
1. Plane is in mid flight - thus horizontal
2. No air breaks applied - thus horizontal
3. If a plane was to descend at the degree you guys suggest for this to be an "obvious falling meteor" the planes wings would rip off, this is why planes of that size descend over longer periods of time or in circles.
4. Who knows what it is, moral of the story, bring an HD camera and photo enhancing equipment if you`re going to make a UFO claim lest you want to be deemed crazy.

Chances are it was a meteor, we get hit by them every day, most disintegrate in the atmosphere or make no noticable impact.

musuko...go back to school and learn something..please

entering the earths atmosphear at 10 times the escape velocity means nothing...thats like saying a bullet leaves a gun at 100mph and after it hits a 1 inch piece of steel it keeps that velocity.

@diepspolice

it sounds good on paper, but only paper. You dont enter earths atmosphere with out being affected by earth`s gravity. A meteorite wouldnt be able to just fly right on by like nothing happened. Besides that the object in the video is far to small to have made it through earths atmosphere and still have enough velocity to continue traveling horizontally because dont forget the atmosphere drastically reduces the velocity of an object.

"a meteor doesnt enter earths atmosphear and then just travel horizontally right out of it with never touching down"

FFS, did you even READ the Wikipedia article?

"Thus, when meteoroids meet the Earth`s atmosphere head-on (which would only occur if the meteors were in a retrograde orbit), the combined speed may reach about 44 miles per second (71 kilometers per second)."

Then look at the article for "escape velocity":

"On the surface of the Earth, the escape velocity is about 11.2 kilometers per second (~6.96 mi/s), which is approximately 34 times the speed of sound (Mach 34) and at least 10 times the speed of a rifle bullet. However, at 9,000 km altitude in "space", it is slightly less than 7.1 km/s."

METEORS ARE CAPABLE OF ENTERING OUR ATMOSPHERE AT TEN TIMES THE SPEED NEEDED TO ESCAPE IT. THEY ARE MORE THAN CAPABLE OF DOING SO.

TEN TIMES!

@skullgrin: A meteorite can certainly enter the earth`s atmosphere, travel apparently horizontally, and leave again.

Draw a small circle on a piece of paper. That`s Earth. Draw a really, really, really big, fat ellipse outside the small circle, such that one of the skinnier ends of the ellipse almost but not quite touches the small circle. That`s the path of your meteorite, which is travelling much faster than the escape velocity of the Earth. Anybody who happens to witness the meteorite at or near the closest point that it gets to the Earth sees it travelling horizontally with respect to gravity. Anybody who sees it before sees it moving mostly horizontally but getting closer to the earth. Anybody who sees it afterwards sees it going away from the Earth.

Horizontal is relative skullgrin. You only saw it move for about 3 seconds. Also you don`t have any frame of reference to say it was traveling perfectly horizontal.

do you understand the amount of velocity required to escape earths gravity? a meteor doesnt enter earths atmosphear and then just travel horizontally right out of it with never touching down. you must also take into account the height an airplane is flying - a meteor traveling horizontal at that height defies known physics

"A meteorite is a meteor that has entered the earth`s aptmosphere. It is not called a meteorite because it hits the ground. Plenty of them burn up before any impact occurs."

How can someone with access to Google and Wikipedia remain so, so wrong?

It`s in the first freaking paragraph!

"A meteoroid is a suggested term for a sand- to boulder-sized particle of debris in the Solar System. The visible path of a meteoroid that enters Earth`s (or another body`s) atmosphere is called a meteor, or colloquially a shooting star or falling star. If a meteoroid reaches the ground and survives impact, then it is called a meteorite."

But I don`t care what it is, really. I think Groogle summed things up very well:
