THis is was found to be human by DNA, this video is crap.

DNA testing in 1999 at BOLD (Bureau of Legal Dentistry), a forensic DNA lab in Vancouver, British Columbia found standard X and Y chromosomes in two samples taken from the skull, "conclusive evidence that the child was not only human (and male), but both of his parents must have been human as well, for each must have contributed one of the human sex chromosomes"

    Of course it`s human.
But the mind is from the aliens who put the monolith on the moon.

I find it funny how all Aliens have human like skulls. Heck, there`s no reason to believe they`d even have bones like we do, they could be almost anything. Not saying there is or isn`t aliens, but why would they visit here a couple times and bugger off? If I traveled all that distance I think I would setup an outpost, or mine for resources that my planet doesn`t have. Some people will do anything to disprove God, why not just live your life and ignore the religious types?

I watched a special on this skull on the history channel a few days ago. This whole video is bunk, it was an oddity caused by megalencephaly.

Not saying the history channel is always correct, but they showed the tests that this video talks about, and unless they staged the tests... then it was just a really early example of a disease that persists today.

And they did a facial reconstruction, sepia, so if you want to see it I`m sure it can be found in google images search.

    It`s a deformity, for f*ck`s sake. I mean really?

You can actually see things like this happening today. Fluid builds up in the brain cavity, and since the skull isn`t "set" at that age, it expands and starts to deform.

Bad "scientists" will do anything to come to the conclusion they want.

As for the DNA, previous DNA tests have shown it to be human, and I could take any NUMBER of tiny quotes out of context in scientific documents to make them mean what I want them too.

for a more genetics-based explanation: Link

ok, so there are lots of mtDNA variations but still, you`re using DNA!!! - would that really be consistent with extra-terrestrial life? - unless life on earth was seeded from extra-terrestrial DNA... or vice versa... hmmm...

"As for the DNA, previous DNA tests have shown it to be human"

Previous, out of date, can no longer be used (like your genetics degree). New test says it is not human. Thus we must assume the more accurate modern test results are the correct results.

I`m skeptic about those tests. There is a reason why it`s a child, because he died of an early, because of an obvious deformity.

How can an alien breath through such a tight nose? And the eyes surely won`t be funsctional with those sockets... For an eye to move around normally it need to be spherical.

Even if it isn`t human, it could be a deformed ape too. There`s just no way this skull is functional.

I don`t feel like sitting through the whole ten minute video, so forgive me if this was addressed in the vid, but how does one jump from non-human DNA to "alien" - what about all the other Earth animals, viruses that can alter cells, and/or mutated or otherwise altered DNA?

the video says the starchilds mitochondrial DNA is human and the DNA in the nucleus is not human. Also it`s improbable that it`s just some mutation. Mutations happen on a very small scale, often unnoticeable, and often happen when cell replication is fastest (as a fetus) which means if any dangerous mutation happened (haha, one that completely wiped out any recognizable sequence of human DNA) the kid would`ve died as a fetus.

Anyway, I`m sceptical. According to the video, there are too many dissimilarities to categorize it as human. (But they could be lying). And according to Ratdog993, the starchild is a Native American child that suffered from hydrocephalus, giving it a weird skull shape. His mitochondrial DNA came from a different haplogroup from the woman assumed to be his mother, but it was a haplogroup found among Natives. And his Y-chromosome says his father must be human.

I don`t think starchild`s an alien, probably because aliens should loo

While I tend not to believe anybody without very clear facts and numerous supporters behind them I will also say I don`t believe mainstream science as so many of their theories are wrong and they don`t even acknowledge it.

A 400+ bp sequence that has heretofore not been cataloged in the human genome simply means that it was a recent mutation (likely the reason for this human`s syndrome) or else a part of the vast majority of the genome which is classified as "junk DNA," DNA which is highly randomized and frequently mutates from one generation to the next and often isn`t even cataloged. The geneticist who conjectured that any of this has to do with mitochondrial gene therapy has a clear lack of understanding in basic genetic testing and analysis. The Southern blot electrophoresis test that they were viewing doesn`t even look at mitochondrial DNA. This is quackery folks. Trust me.
