Thank you for correcting the quote, however I was quoting exactly what the comedian Bo Burnham had said, even if he was mistaken. I had done so to respond to what @chillimac had posted just before.

God is causing gayness with earthquakes. Just an insane thought, but maybe not.

"John 3:16
"that you so loved the world that you sent your only son to die for us"
Your only son, but at the same time, we`re all God`s children, so in his eyes, we`re a bunch of girls. So help us as we struggle with the temptations of lesbianism. Amen
- Bo Burnham"

KJV John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

You left out "begotten" as in only son in the flesh born. Failed as you left out such. We are all to be sons and daughters in spirit of the Father.

KJV 2 Corn 6:17-18

17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Yeah - `cause you know. Which orifices which genders enter with which organs really affects the all-powerful being of the universe - and not only that - somehow does more damage on its own than arbitrary acts of divine rage. Nice.

Taken from one of my hourly bumpers on my old radio show, several years ago:

"Ladies and gentlemen, the religious right is at it again: Some religious leaders recently blamed hurricane Katrina on the gays. That`s because, according to them, homosexuality is `unnatural and immoral.` Well, we here at the Pirate would like to remind you: so is heterosexuality ...

...

...

...

If you do it right!"

We now return you to your regularly scheduled bigotry.

For the people who are saying this guy is not a homophobe you need to do a little research. This guy has a long history of making insanely crazy homophobic, sexist and bigoted statements. I doubt if he believes the brunt of his hatred. I think he just likes the national attention. He is the Jewish Pat Robertson. He is Jew Robertson.

how is it a recent thing if the greeks did it? That was way over 2000 years ago...

Also how are you born heterosexual? When you were young (baby/toddler age), were you trying to get the girls?

The difference between homosexuality and religion is that you are born heterosexual. With religion you are born outside of it and most of time placed into one by your parents. Religion as a lifestyle has been around since the dawn of man. Homosexuality as a community and lifestyle is a recent phenomena. I guess you could call those who have chosen to make it a lifestyle a minority, but from what I see, they are trying to make homosexuality into something that is "logical" unlike a belief in God which does based itself on logic. homosexuality is based on sex not love. It is a desire to have sex with someone of the same sex. That`s a degredation of the human body into a sexual object. Love between two men or women can and does exist without sex and can exist on a very intimit level. If we are going to call homosexuality a minority, might as well call BSDM a minority, or people who sex with animals a minority.

God didn`t make homosexuals, it is an entirely man made thing. During the Greeks, male men often had homosexual acts with young boys (pedophilia was legal) however they still had wifes and were predominately heterosexual. You are born hetero, not homo, you only decide to become homosexual for what most likely amounts to a neurosis. homosexuality as a community and social class or group is only a recent phenomena.

insane_ai: In some cases, this one included, the suffix "phobia" is used to indicate a more general opposition than only fear. For another example, it would be ludicrous to say that the hydrophobic leaves of the lotus plant repel water because they fear it. In the case of homophobes, though some certainly fear molestation, others simply harbor a fundamental disagreement: they are as unable to accept homosexuality as a lotus leaf is to accept water on its surface.

If god hates homos, why did it make them?If homosexuality is against gods will, then it is either a masochist or it is neither omniscient nor omnipotent.Either way, the more you say god is for or against things, the weaker you make your god.

Why are you people calling this man a homophobe? He expressed fear of God`s wrath, not some fear that he could be sexually assaulted by a homosexual. He obviously does not fear homosexuals themselves, he pities them.

The comments from people on this board are biased and Allodoxaphobic.

It`s ok to think what I want as long as I think like you. How enlightened is that???

I should add that if a gay child is given up for adoption no matter how they are raised they will still be gay.
0
Reply
Male 5,000
@ohthedrama, the flaw in your argument is that out of race, religion and sexuality, the only one that is a choice is religion. If a boy born to Jewish parents is given up for adoption that child will be whatever religion they are raised.

Male 5,000
Ah yes the, it`s a choice, argument. As a gay man who was raised in a very loving beaver cleaver family I know I was born gay. There was zero drama in my childhood. My brother and I were raised exactly the same. I`m gay. It`s no big deal. Even before I knew what sexuality was, at nine, I got tingly watching Shaun Cassidy and Leaf Garrett. I was raised in such a straight society that I couldn`t fully accept my sexuality until my early twenties. I didn`t experience much homophobia I was just raised to be straight.

The "it`s a choice" argument is pushed hard by religious organizations and the media because it gives them an out to attack a group of people. They repeat this lie over and over to burn the thought into their followers. As soon as society admits it is not a choice then the attacks become hatred. That moment is getting closer and closer.

Homosexuals are not a minority. That would be like stating the Red Hat Club is a minority. They are simply people who have chosen to take an action and turn it into a club or lifestyle. It`s not a race, color nor religion. However, this Rabbi is no better than then Westburo Baptist Church.

"I" think you`ll "find" that the dictionary "already" had them "as" a "minority". Not that "I`d" "ex"pect some"one" who doesn`t seem "to" understand how to "use" airquotes to "figure" that "out". Look it up.

Here`s a good entry from Wikipedia that explains the expanded meaning of -phobic:

A number of terms with the suffix -phobia are used non-clinically but have gained public acceptance. Such terms are primarily understood as negative attitudes towards certain categories of people or other things, used in an analogy with the medical usage of the term. Usually these kinds of "phobias" are described as fear, dislike, disapproval, prejudice, hatred, discrimination, or hostility towards the object of the "phobia". These non-clinical phobias are typically used as labels cast on someone by another person or some other group.

Chemophobia – prejudice against artificial substances in favour of "natural" substances.
Ephebiphobia – fear or dislike of youth or adolescents.
Homophobia – fear or dislike of homosexuals or homosexuality.
Xenophobia – fear

Wrong as not the first minority to be persecuted by a Jew.

Besides there have been Muslims equating catastrophe`s with God`s revenge. Yeah and just to be equal ditto on some Christian hate mongers also.

Now with media more accessible. There are more narcissistic, self-proclaimed, and religious know it all prophets popping up everyday.

Apparent;y the writer of Matthew had one thing correct for sure.

Matt 24:24
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Think about it for just a second. Murderers, child molesters, drug dealers, thieves and other criminals all hang out in PRISONS, where there is a known increase in homosexual activity. If God were really targeting sinners with natural disasters, don`t you think that PRISONS around the world would be a target?

I`ve posted this comment a few times but it rings true to me:

The year it became legal for homosexuals to get married in Massachusetts, the Boston Red Sox won the World Series. That same season the New England Patriots went on to win the Super Bowl. It doesn`t appear that God was too upset with Massachusetts. All signs point to God rewarding a state for doing the right thing.

His argument is flawed. The epicenter was in central Virginia. Virginia adopted DOMA as a state law. The state passed a bill reaffirming that Virginia has no constitutional or legal obligation to recognize marriages, civil unions or domestic partnership contracts between same-sex couples. Sounds to me like your God was pissed at Virginia dumb-ass.

There`s the arguement that God is the definition of good. Without god there can be no good. and with good comes the opposite reaction (tho this law is bs when applying to real world) of evil. If god commands something then it must be good because God is perfect. God commanded that (i forgot name) victor of some battle should take the virgins as spoils of war. Many christians will argue that this doesnt mean rape and doesn`t even imply raping. But if you can claim that something as obvious as "virgins as spoils of war after a battle" isnt ending in rape, how can you claim that "getting to know" some guys ends with sodomi?

oh man i`m trying too hard to be serious
