Is Barry afraid of Repubs debating on TV? Is that why he scheduled next week"s congressional address at the same time?

Our current President, more than prior Presidents in my adult life, loves to act like he is in charge and has the solution.

If making a speech and talking a subject actually accomplished anything, he would be Golden! If you support him, I am sure you enjoy listening to him act like he is actually doing something, but for those of us that have lost faith in his words vs performance, he just bloviates.

Now I agree that all politicians are prone to this, along with actors that talk about themselves, but he is trying to sell us "The People" on the notion that he is in charge and really working for us. Unless, it doesn`t work, then it was the fault of his opposition, or past Presidents.

I for one have lost confidence in his ability to actually have a plan for anything.... Other than himself.

Boner wins another round.
Obama`s looking pretty wimpy these days.

jtrebowski, read the question again.

Or maybe you actually think the war costs are the main cause, in which case you`re an idiot.

@ Baelzar: You`re right on the money as that being one of the major causes... I explained all that in a comment yesterday, but as you well know, some people just prefer to ignore facts that prove them wrong.

tedgp: "Whats the main reason that the american economy is in so bad shape right now."

It`s simple. The moment the government decided that everyone should own a home.

Read "Reckless Endangerment" by Gretchen Morgenson and Joshua Rosner, and you`ll find every detail.

I`d much rather listen to the POTUS talk about jobs (an important issue to Americans) than listen to a bunch of freaks screaming over each other trying to prove that they hate gays more than the other candidate. (an important issue for the rest)

@Gerry:

Incorrect. The president actually needs approval from congress to give a speech like this, and he plainly chose a night that has long been scheduled for the opposing party`s debate. You really can`t get any more obvious than that, and he won`t get the approval.

It isn`t racist to coddle Obama because he is black (which most people do.). I`m not sure of the term. Race anxiety maybe?

Obama tries to bully Boehner and it backfires. His attempt to disrupt the GOP debate was beyond transparent. Now he`s up against the NFL. That means about 38 people will be watching him. Doesn`t matter though, he`s got nothing new to say. He`ll be one and done.

"It`s almost unbelievable the idiots that place no blame on Obama. Must stupid, racist, or both."

I can understand the stupid, but racist? That is the most retarded comments I have read all week. If someone loves Obama to the point that they refuse to see any faults they`re obviously not racists. Or are you saying they are black people who are racist against white people? I hope not because that is even more retarded.

"it`s the office of President you respect."

Exactly. Boehner has shown over and over a disrespect for this nation through his childish and disrespectful reactions to the President. When you are a leader you can disagree with the president but you respect the position. Boehner is like an emotional junior high girl.

Boner was wrong not to accomodate the Prez.
Like him or not, it`s the office of President you respect.
The Pres says sit down and listen you sit down and listen.
Then go on Fox News and say why the Pres is full of crap.
That`s how it`s done people!

@ SCFan: The President is guilty of caving in to Congress on many things. What I find interesting is that even with everything I listed earlier, you and your ilk still want to point fingers at Obama.

Further proof that you can bury an Obama hater with facts that show how wrong they are, and they still say "but Obama *insert Fox News sound bite here*

Way to try to spin it dude. You don`t like the documented facts that have been presented to you, so you try to spin/deflect the facts given into something else.

Facts or GTFO.

You people who think everything is all Obama`s fault are morons. Many, many people are to blame for the current condition of the US. To put all your blame on one individual is asinine.

I`m so glad that Obama will be a one-term president. This douchebag has to go before he ruins this country even worse than he already has. My only prayer is that the door DOES hit him on the ass on the way out.

@osirasecond and randommxp

Additional faults by Bush II:

-One Farm bill
-Two pork-filled transportation bills
-A prescription drug entitlement program
-A bill that would give non-violent ex-felons money as opposed to a clean record.
-A program that was supposed to raise standards in public education nationwide which has instead backfired horrifically.
-And the biggest elephants in the room (all puns intended) two wars.
-A new department to "enhance" homeland security

@ randomxnp: *continued*

The Clinton Administration, which pushed for less stringent credit and downpayment requirements for working- and middle-class families.

The Bush administration, which failed to provide needed government oversight of the increasingly dicey mortgage-backed securities market.

An obscure accounting rule called "mark-to-market", which can have the paradoxical result of making assets be worth less on paper than they are in reality during times of panic.

Collective delusion, or a belief on the part of all parties that home prices would keep rising forever, no matter how high or how fast they had already gone up.

The U.S. economy is enormously complicated. Screwing it up takes a great deal of cooperation.

Your "theory" is absolutely ridiculous, and shows you know nothing about economics.

@ randomxnp: You`re either a complete moron or trolling... Read the following and learn a little something:

The U.S. financial crisis was caused by:

The Federal Reserve, which slashed interest rates after the dot-com bubble burst, making credit cheap.

Home buyers, who took advantage of easy credit to bid up the prices of homes excessively.

Congress, which continues to support a mortgage tax deduction that gives consumers a tax incentive to buy more expensive houses.

Mortgage brokers, who offered less-credit-worthy home buyers subprime, adjustable rate loans with low initial payments, but exploding interest rates.

Former Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan, who in 2004, near the peak of the housing bubble, encouraged Americans to take out adjustable rate mortgages.

"at least GWB recognised this and tried to start reform, prevented by Democrats in Congress"

The same will be said about Obama in the future. He tried, and it was prevented by the Republicans in Congress. True or not, it will be said. That`s politics for you.

"Whats the main reason that the american economy is in so bad shape right now.[sic]"

Because Democrats and ACORN among other socialist organisations (mostly - some Republicans were at fault, but despite his faults at least GWB recognised this and tried to start reform, prevented by Democrats in Congress) forced banks to lend to people who couldn`t afford to pay, and helped Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to support and buy such loans. It ain`t a secret, it is easy to find out. I am 3000 miles from the USA and I can find this out easily.

fancylad: There is actually some momentum among democrats to nominate Hildog instead of Barry, at least that`s what I`ve garnered from the democrat blogs I peruse from time to time.

She would`ve got the nom in 2008, except Barry`s campaign bussed in acorn people, from other states, to stuff the ballot in the Texas primary.
