Wow. What the drat? Who gives a poo in the first place. Also, how are children in any way experts on facial muscles or professional photoshopping? Yeah, they got a crazy picture out of what was probably an hours long photoshoot. They may have even photoshopped it. Who the drat cares?
Seeing as your badge of honour is to find the lowest-rated content on the whole site
Um, nooo. You got it bass-ackwards @davymid, *sigh*
The low rating comes from lefties who simply vote "1" without even looking at the content. Several IABers have openly said they do this, m-kay?
Thus the low score for my posts is NOT an indication of their popularity, rather a prime example of the HATE spewn by leftists on a daily basis.
My GOAL is the same as everyone elses: aleviate boredom, get some brain cells working, or shut your brain down with an "Awww! So cute!" post. Think, have fun, LoL.

Now @davy go dig up my suggestion about the pasing of my Calico cat! I do often suggest stuff other than politics, eh? But that`s the first personal suggestion I`ve ever made (and likely the last too).

Well, OK then @Cajun, I can`t argue with that.

@davymid knocked me out @xCYBERDYNEx? Not by half.

Sarah Palin told a joke: What`s the difference between a soccer mom and a pit bull? Lipstick.

This was (iirc) because the MSM was trying to portray her as a "soft soccer mom" not a capable PERSON who was freaking Governer of a state.

Then, a few days later: Obama makes his remarks. Complete coincidence, right? I mean there`s DOZENS of videos of him refering to Bush`s policies as "lipstick on a pig" before this, right? NOT!

Lipstick on a pig, old fish that stinks, OBVIOUSLY talking policies. Nothing at all to do with the choice of candidates America had. Right... left...

(anyhow, I`m glad you watched it before commenting, now go watch it again and LISTEN to what Obama actually says and HOW the audience reacts. THEY know who he`s calling a pig.)

Also, I see that the post rating has jumped from 1.4 to 1.5, Cats. Seeing as your badge of honour is to find the lowest-rated content on the whole site, I think your plan is failing. Better rethink your strategy.

Obviously posting proof that the pic of Michele Bachman`s pic was shopped, by the esteemed photo-manipulation experience of this guy`s pre-pubescent kids didn`t quite cut it. Maybe next time post proof that Obama shouldn`t be President based on some dude`s dog barking once if he`s a Christian, twice if he a Muslim. That might even get you down to the holy grail of a 1.0 rating. You know, since those are the ones that prove you`re right, and that libtards are just terrified of the truth.

Oooooor maybe this link is just utter crap, and the 14,000 users that watched this link are telling you that.

Whatever works for you, bro.

Personally, I use that turn of phrase all the time - in fact just last night we were overtaken by a twat in a sh*tty little old car with a huge fat noisy exhaust on it. I guess buddy thought it made it seem sporty or something, I mentioned to my wife that he`d be better served saving the money for a new, better car. Lipstick on a pig.
@davymid did YOU look at the video @avatarmn provided? Did you actually listen to what Obama said? Or did you ASSUME I was wrong and run with that.
No, I watched it, of course I did. He was talking about McCain`s policies and how they were basically the same as Bush`s policies, dressed up to sound like change. As Obama`s political line was that Bush`s policies weren`t working, he said that you can put lipstick on a pig, it`s still a pig. Somehow that became Obama talking about Presidential Candidate McCain`s political stance, to suddenly referring to Sarah Palin as being a pig with lipstick on... and something about pit-bulls and hockey moms.

Wait, one more thing:
@Cajun`s defense of Newsweek not being "sexist" is:
They were nice to Hillary! Clinton.
W...T...F?
Are you totally unable to read a word I say? Let me be perfectly clear: (lolz! who keeps saying that eh?) The MSM hates CONSERVATIVE women. It`s BOTH bias AND sexist, m-kay? At the same time! Them being nice to a massive LEFTIST female is NOT NOT NOT proof that they`re non-sexist. Cheezus!

Video evidence? THAT?
He talks about a pig with lipstick. Clearly that refers to a comment Palin made about soccer moms and pit bulls DUH!
THEN he talks about "old fish... stinks" clearly refering to McCain`s age.
Sexism, Agism, YUP! Obama`s NOT talking about McCain/Palin, even though he says: "and that`s the choice you`ve got in this election". The choice between him and... a pig and an old fish?
Woah, could it be?
YES!
@avatarmn has indeed proven ME correct!

OK @Cajun that is true enough. However: how many are shopped to make the subject look BETTER? 90%? 95%? What makes this one different? It`s a conservative! They deserve to look bad!
Nice how you`re avoiding my point: biased MSM is bad. It`s SUPPOSED to be un-biased. Reporting facts, when did THAT go out of fashion? I`d say 1978... but it could just as easily have been Nov 1963.

Awww @davymid`s mad because I`m right, er correct!, again? Poor fellow.

On a side-bar I offered up a link to a black fellow discussing slavery. THAT = crash and burn? In your leftist dreams boys!

Once again you IGNORE my point: it wasn`t easy to "free slaves" back in the day. And focus on something else, how Founding Fathers might have approved of slavery.

WTF? That`s the best you got? @davymid was right after all, y`all are feeble in your efforts.

John Jay is the ONLY person Mr. Elder mentioned that actually worked hard to abolish slavery, and successfully did so in his state of New York. But considering the rest it does not back up what Bachmann said. Considering that you challenged none of the other quotes I cited that pretty much backs up what I`ve been saying as well. This article was focused on her rhetoric. Finally as the old saying goes:

"You can`t judge a book by it`s cover."

Which is ironically what this video does.

I just did a google search looking for an issue of Newsweek featuring Clinton on the cover. The words are mostly positive.

"I found my own voice."
"...shattering glass ceilings."

Definetively an indicator of bias, but counter`s the claim that the magazine is sexist. Prove to me that cover is photoshopped, and then we talk qualitative comparisons.

As per your radio segment:
Patrick Henry: "As much as I deplore slavery, I see prudence forbids it`s abolition." Backs up what I said.
James Wilson: Anti-slave trade clause laid the foundation for the abolition of slavery. As in did NOT get rid of it right away.
George Washington: Although not mentioned in the audio, was a slave owner his entire life AND gave money to French slave owner for the purpose of surpressing an insurrection.

5Cats, it`s interesting that you remember Obama calling Sarah Palin "a pig with lipstick", because it never happened. It goes to show you how good the right-wing media is at doing their job of spreading lies.

What Obama said was that John McCain claimed he wasn`t like Bush, "except for economic policy, health care policy, education policy, foreign policy, and Karl Rove-style politics, we`re really going to shake things up in Washington." Obama concludes "That`s not change. That`s just calling the same thing something different. But you know, you can put lipstick on a pig... it`s still a pig." The pig is Bush`s politics, the lipstick is McCain`s attempt to say it`s not the same thing. Palin`s got nothing to do with it.

Oh, @Cajun it wasn`t on the CBC, the slavery thing was HERE (i think)

So ESPN Magazine has nakes athletes in their issue, no "naughty bits" showing, and you`re saying 2 of their 2 issues had girls on the cover = sexism? There`s LOTS of naked males inside too.

Also this has nothing to do with the deliberate disfigurement of a female based on her politics, eh?
0
Reply
Male 40,359
@Cajun: Nooo, they disfigured her face. They attacked McCain on his age (ageism) and Bush Jr on, well everything! But for women they SPECIFICALLY go after their LOOKS. Remember Obama HimSelf calling Sarah Palin a "pig with lipstick"? I do.
So the left, supposedly pro-feminist, singles out conservative women ONLY for personal insults about how they look.

Sexism buddy, pure and simple.

ONE person? @Cajun have you been hiding under a rock these past 11 years? Geez.

I have no idea what "ESPN Magazine" is, I`ll go see if you linked it.

@defiythelie: The "media" aka: the 5th estate, is NOT supposed to HAVE "dislikes" m-kay? They`re supposed to report the neutral, unadulterated FACTS and allow the reading public to make up their own minds. Get it? Your point, like @Baalthy, actually proves MY point, so thanks! LOLZ!

Male 40,359
My point, @Cajun, is that sexist attacks are OK if the subject is a righty. @Baalth essentially repeated that. Oh they discuss her politics inside the magazine? Great! How many people will read it?
Look at the lefties here at IAB: they just glance at something, say "dhur hur! she`s a c*nt!" and move along. Palin, Rice, Bachmann, they`re all fodder for the most outrageous attacks BY leftists.
Politics is secondary, attack-wise.

Also @cajun, I was listening to a discussion of Founding Fathers owning slaves the other day (on radio, CBC that is). It seems that "just saying they`re free" was NOT an option, legally. So once they owned some, they could only do things like decree their freedom after they (the owner) died - in their wills. Stuff like that.

@defiythelie: what? You`re equating a protest sign with a news magazine`s cover?? LMAO! Oh the left - a never ending source of stupidity!

"There were founding fathers who fought hard against slavery."
The best example ANY historian can think is John Q. Adams defending a slave against murder charges. Almost all of them were slave owners. But arguably they may not have liked the practice but if what Bachmann said is true than none the "Fathers" would even have the title. Such effort would`ve meant political suicide.

U high 5Cats?

Baal stated they picked it because of her rhetoric.

What did she say:
"Homosexuality is like bondage."
Only because one sector of society sees it in a negative light.
"There are hundreds and hundreds of scientists, many of them holding Nobel Prizes, who believe in intelligent design."
Quick google search number doesn`t even go past a digit.
"I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out under another, then under another Democrat president, Jimmy Carter. I`m not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it`s an interesting coincidence."
A coincidence is a coincidence is a coincidence nothing more. But there were actually warnings going on during the Bush admin.

Ah @Baalthy, accidentally proving my point, again!

Thanks @jtrebowski. Rush isn`t a "news reporter" he`s a OPINION guy. He never even once pretended to be `fair and unbiased` m-kay?

The "5th Estate" is supposed to guard the public FROM lies and deception (Nixon tapes? Remember those?) and provide the TRUTH to us. That in a nutshell is why America is in big trouble: the MSM has gotten completely one-sided and the public has no where to turn BUT the internet blogs, talk radio and other `extremist` sources.

Good one @xCYBERDYNEx, I loled! That was one of the funniest South Parks.

@davymid: 1.4 = haters. We`ve discussed this already. MANY liberal IABers have open said they look at my name and rate = 1. They don`t read or view, just hate! Good on ya, open minded left! I take my under 2 rating as a badge of honour, proving that the left is TERRIFIED of the truth.

Solely on her looks? Newsweek didn`t attack her solely on her looks. Not even on the cover.

The agenda being trying to make a conservative female presidential candidate look as bat poo crazy as possible. Whether she actually IS bat poo crazy is a separate argument. I realize that the days of objective journalism died with Eric Sevareid (google him, kiddies), but, really, there is a difference between a "news" magazine presenting their own agenda as "news" and digitally lying, in a sense, about how a candidate appears for the sake of manipulating public opinion about her. Just sayin`.

isnt there a child somewhere missing and possably dead that would be far more deserving of our time and attiontion?

for shame...
my personal opinion.

I`m glad that the professionals have finally come out of the closet and shed some light on this obvious photoshop.

I could see 3 arguements

1) all magazines photoshop the covers and they screwed up
2) did it intentionally
3) or shes just took a bad photo

Doing it intentionally isnt even remotely new case in point...

Get the best quality pic of the Newsweek cover without actually getting the Newsweek cover and bring in the photoshop expert.

Great reporting.

Guys, you`re missing the point. There`s a big difference between an entertainment magazine smoothing out the wrinkles of some starlet and a supposed newsmagazine altering a picture to make a public figure they hate look goofy.

Sickening? Every magazine `shops their cover pictures. If you go around being sickened by it every time you`ll constantly reek of vomit.

wow, some 10 year old says the picture is photoshopped, that`s some pretty damning evidence.

I want to say yes... EVERY magazine cover is shopped or touched up. But I`m not going to listen to the opinions from your 6 yr/old daughter. I also wouldn`t doubt that some of the unnaturalness in her facial features is light botox and heavy doses of crazy... but yes they most probably did little bits of touch up, its natural and no they did not fake the photo.. that`s too much work when there`s plenty of shots of her crazy eyes out there. If you want, I will accept the argument that they purposefully picked a crazy picture of her instead of finding a more flattering one... but its probably not a fabricated photo, even if your 6 yr old daughter says so.

She graduated from Oral Roberts. No photo can compete with that. But still, shame on you Newsweek.

Oh god. Someone shopped a magazine cover to give the picture an "angle".

The paranoia. Where does it end?

I`ll tell you what allows a person to raise their eyelids without raising their brow. Botox. This man and, for some reason, his daughters, are out to prove this "decent and intelligent woman" is not a "crazy woman." Good luck! http://tinyurl.com/5fs8lx

At first, I was like meh... who cares, big deal so what, but I kept watching and he convinced me.

Just that slight change does make a difference in the subconscious mind. Her appearance does make you think that there is something deformed, unhealthy or wrong with this person.

But no matter, I don`t like her anyways.

not bad.... pretty good proof of photoshop... but not crazy... HA

That woman is far from intelligent and far from sane.

I only disagree with the cover on the basis that they were lazy. You look hard enough you gonna find a great crazy shot to use.

Yeah lets take advice from some silly kids. I`m not saying it wasn`t shopped, but the things that were pointed out are just ridiculous. The one little girls says her eyes can`t do that... so the drat what! We make look similar, but we`re all really different.
