Including as many as 25 Navy SEALs in one of the worst single-day U.S. losses of life since the war began.

Suprised they even made this public knowledge most of the things they do you`ll never hear of. They tell SEALS when they`re accepted 1 in 4 of you won`t make it past 30. I doubt this is the first good hit they`ve taken.

"Get the f**k out of the country, i say they deserve it. "

Why should they deserve to die? They didnt make the decision to go in

This is terrible =( and apparently 22 of them were part of the same unit, but were not the same soldiers that executed the raid on Osama. :( I am very sorry to hear of your loss, America. Bring the troops home!

"everyone absorb this fact: most afghans don`t know who obl is, 9/11 or the wtc."

I call BS on the OBL thing but the 9/11 one is true.

"Thanks George W. Bush for the lies that brought these deaths. Hell of a job, George, hell of a job."

You sir, and a drating idiot.

Obama could have ended the war, but he escalated it.

Start blaming the one responsible can`t we?

As far as this event goes, war is to blame, plain and simple. It`s hell.

So you`re doubting that a hit from an RPG can bring down a CH-47?

I`m not buying the Taleban thing. Not unless they still have Stingers lying about from the ones the US gave them during the Russian era.

@nnoamfer. I didn`t know any of them either, but I sure as hell am keeping their families and loved ones in my prayers. Can you not be ignorant for a few minutes and if you don`t care, don`t comment. Because I know for sure that I never want to get that call saying my husband is not coming home. Please show respect.

@Sachi001: While Afghani may be the correct form in Pashto, and perhaps even Dari and Urdu, it is not so in English. It is a source of some confusion to many, but in English Afghani in its correct usage only refers to the currency. Afghan is cited as the correct form by Wikipedia (not to be trusted, I know), the Nat Geo style manual, advised by Barnett Rubin (a famed Afghanistan expert), stated by Paul Brians` Common Errors in English Usage (a book I advise all to buy), and stated as such by the CIA fact book. Afghan is also given as the correct form by both the Oxford English Dictionary and the Merriam-Webster dictionary. As such Afghan is the correct demonym in English.

I genuinely don`t give a poo. I don`t know anyone of those soldiers, I can`t cry for anyone who dies.

@ChrisMunich

Afghani is used with currency and people. However Afghan is used as a pretext of not only refrencing the people, but of objects such as rugs, blankets. Afghans as you like to think prefer Afghani as usually Afghan denotes geopraphic region. You say "he is an Afghani" not "he is an Afghan" in Pashtun.

@Sachi001: Actually, Afghans is correct, Afghani is the unit of currency, not the people.

@Cityncolour: I`m amazed a mod hasn`t given you a bollocking yet but this loss of life is no excuse to use racist terms you ignorant prick.

For starters it`s hardly worth mentioning the dog. Well no, it`s just plain not worth mentioning the dog.

But as to the rest... that`s war for you. I would have thought that with all its advanced technology, the US military would be beyond incidents like this, nevertheless, maybe it was a lucky shot.

Afghanis is the proper term.

Second OBL was fighting in Afghanistan before you were a twinkle in your pop`s eye. About everyone of them know who is Osama Bin Laden

I`m sorry for the loss of life first and formost. Having said that why is the title taking about a crash when the aircraft was clearly shot down? Are you afraid to give any credit to the other side? It`s a war and both sides are trying to kill each other. They didn`t crash. They were shot down by enemy fire.

Not that easy as the country is rife with rare earth ores and minerals. A most coveted prize to the occupier.

They were shot down by the Taliban and inside were members of SEAL Team 6 that took out Bin Laden. Looks like some info got out of who was in what chopper.I don`t believe it could have been coincidence.

wildancrazy first news say that the missile launched versus the chopper probably is a "stinger" an american missile given by C.I.A to mujahedin during the 80`s.

R.I.P.
Not only the loss of life, but over 100 million in investment and thousands of hours of training AND the experience of sec-ops troopers.
Wonder if the opp was even close to worth it?
As for these being cold war era "rockets" very doubtful...more likely shoulder fired russky stuff from Iran. The Ameri stuff is way past its use by date..

The sad thing, after the death of the soldiers, is that the rocket launched by talibans seem to be an american rocket. One of the rocket your country have given to talibans to fight russians in 80`s.

Yep, it`s that easy, just everyone leave.. nothing bad could possibly come of that.

Also, it seems like 90% of our deaths over there are from helicopters crashing. Da Vinci sucks at blueprints.

Meh just throwing it out there. It just seems odd that these guys get killed not too long after OBL`s death. But I won`t throw around some crazy govt conspiracy unless I know of some hard evidence.

Why the F were all those eggs in one basket? Who`s running things over there and child? They used to tell us to spread out so one grenade wouldn`t get us all. What about jumping out of airplanes? If this is true someone should hang. I surely could utilize those men in a better fashion than this and I was an enlisted man.
