Young Baseball Fan Is Full Of Class: Nice Job, Kid

Submitted by: fancylad 6 years ago in Sports

It"s not often that you see this sort of generosity in a kid. How many of you would have done this, I-A-B?

You know, it reflects a lot about our society when something like this is shocking.

There`s no generosity there. One of the guys in the dugout yelled at him to give the ball to the younger kid.

What I notice is that baseball is so f*cking slow and boring that the announcers can yack away for several minutes as the camera focuses on the kid and nobody worries about the game.

A "contract" is 4 free tickets. The talking guys say it`s usually given to a fan who makes a great catch.
Watch the first 30 seconds: the player tries to flip the ball to the Blue kid, but misses. The Staff person gives it to the Red kid. A Staff lady then tells the Red kid the ball was supposed to go to the Blue kid. (or something to that effect)

So yes, Red kid is awesome!

Blue kid is younger, of course he`s crying that he missed the ball, but he`s not throwing a tantrum or anything.

I`m glad they took some time to acknowledge this fine young man (and his friends and family) there may be hope for humanity after all!

Wait - they`re taking a contract out on him?

That`s a bit harsh

That was really cool. What a good Kid and the younger boy almost had the ball in his glove but it bounced out. If that kid in the red shirt were my son I would be so proud of him.

The kid in the blue is obviously a whiny little poo, and probably didn`t deserve the kindness from red-shirt.

Sure, we can nitpik on the little details of what Red got in return for giving Blue the ball...but the reality that I chose to consider is that Red, at the end of the day, gave the ball to the kid who clearly wanted it more. Red is now setting himself up for a lifetime of good karma and well-built friendships. Good on ya`, Red.

Well, he may have gotten the ball in the end, but he looked like a little baby pee-pants on TV. What a twerp.

Who cares if "someone told him to do it" he still did it! And was cool about it: didn`t run off and cry or anything.

Good for him!

Yeah the `contract` was a little much, but the bat (signed by his favorite player) was a just reward.

He only did it because he was told to. This means nothing.

I think it`s all nice and fine, but I think all the extra stuff, like baseball bat, and contract and stuff is a bit too much. Imagine how the younger kid feels who got the ball back. He gets the ball back, but the kid who took the ball from him gets a baseball bat and all this other stuff instead?? And if you notice, the guy below the railing is telling him to give the ball and pointing to the kid who got sad.

"He only gave it to the kid after the guy in the dugout told him to."

This.

He`s clearly listening to someone as he pauses and then turns back and it didn`t look like he gave it up as a move of generosity. Nonetheless he complied with someone in more authority than he and he was rewarded, teaches a good lesson.
