Dammit, my dog made it onto IAB before I did. Actually considering the general content of IAB, I think I may be fine with that.

gerry, to get the é, you hold down alt and type 0233 on your keypad while numlock is on. If you use windows you can load up Character Map to see the alt-code for whatever you need, or just google alt-codes

@edana42 Yea, but that OTHER dog was probably a FEMALE who just ran around being absolutely useless/clueless/no help/stupid, while the male dog at least made ALL the effort and did ALL the work!

@tommy 4x2

yes, but like most men he doesn`t know how to get what he wants and when he tries he defeats the whole purpose.

Actually, terracottus, it`s a common misconception that dogs don`t sweat. If you`ve ever been in the vicinity of an anxious dog, for example, you might have noticed they sometimes leaves behind sweaty paw prints on smooth surfaces. This is because dogs have sweat glands on their foot pads (although of course panting is the primary mechanism for cooling).

I don`t normally like bulldogs, but these are just too cute!

Gerry, if you have a mac, you just hold the "alt" button and press e. A little accent aigu will pop up and if you follow that by clicking e again you`ll get your é. Voilà!

I don`t know about non-macs though.

vv Indeed Gerry, and don`t forget the gayest of all dogs - the Miniature Poodle! I doubt even the Don Equis man or Chuck Norris could even say the word "poodle" without sounding gay. It`s THAT gay.

As for the é thing, I don`t know how you would do it... I lived in Amsterdam for eight years, so my laptop is from Europe and so is set up with a European keyboard configuration. When I type an apostrophe or quotation mark, it awaits the next letter before it types anything. If I want to actually use a apostrophe or a quotation mark, I have to hit the key and then the spacebar.

Examples: á, ä, ç, é, ë, ó, ö, ú, ü, ý, ÿ. Fancy, right?

@ davymid - Yes, it would be cliche {how did you do that e with the accent?}

And no offense taken. The french gave us the Dogue de Bordeaux and the Bichon Frise ... ALL french dogs are gay.

Yeah, as someone said already, it`s a Bulldog. English Bulldog specifically, not to be confused with a French Bulldog which is similar, but (predictably) slightly more gay - no offence Gerry!

I saw one of these bad boys IRL for the first time just recently - magnificent looking beast he was, and I`m not even a "dog person"! I would love to have one. It might be cliché, but I`d call him Winston!

Even on hot summer days like this my dogs won`t go anywhere near water (with the exception of their bowl, of course). I wish they were as cool as Gus. Then again that would probably lead to mud tracked through the house.

Regarding the "even for a Dog" part:
Evolutionary, dogs are adapted to milder temperatures. They can`t sweat, and their only way to cool down is through the tounge. That`s why dogs seem so unmotivated in heat, and so freaky in snow.
Even normal temperatures (compared to humans) are too hot for dogs, they only don`t bitch around (haha, get it? "bitch") that much about the heat as we do.

It`s 106 degrees here. I had a beautiful blue nose pit that died a couple weeks ago because my wife left him outside while I was at work. Then she HAD to get another dog to "fill the void". Now I`m stuck with a whiny little mutt that poops everywhere and chews on EVERYTHING! I hate this dog and it hates me!
