It`s cute how some of you think a crocodile can`t get this big.

@abby, don`t feel sorry for it. If any creature can still pull off being extremely bad ass and capable of instilling fear into anyone while missing an arm it would be a crocodile.

He`s real and he`s named Brutus.
There was a recent news item about him.

its a salt water croc. dunno wether its a fake or not but yeh they do get this big. few rare cases are even bigger. think of salt water crocs like bigger stronger faster and much much more agressive alligators. did i mention they will eat you just because they laugh at it

I went swimming in a lake in Florida once with my brother and buddies while extremely f*cking drunk. My brother was worried about alligators, I was like, "nah dude, just splash around in the water, that`ll scare them off."

Nothing happened I hasten to add, but yeah, not my brightest moment...

Crocodile, this one is supposedly living in the Adelaide river in Australia. The media has nicknamed him Brutus or something to that end.

This was in the Daily Mail ( I know I know) the other day- he has lost an arm, I forget what to. He once ate a chainsaw I thing while the operator hid up a tree. They reckon he is about 80 years old. Wonderful creature!

my guess (having worked with alligators and crocs at the St Louis Zoo) would be a salty aka salt water crocodile. they have been caugt in excess of 20 feet.

Reminds me a little of the Jaws ride @ Universal. They should make him this big.

That`s a crocodile, due to the narrow snout, Alligators have broad, short snouts.

For which I prefer to around? Alligators, their temperament is more docile compared to that of crocodiles.

Why does someone always say it shopped? That`s a meme now isn`t it? It`s hard to keep up, but anyways, they all seem to be looking up at the tip of the mouth. That leads me to think something is there to look at. Make of it what you will, I liked it.

Definitely a crocodile, because it hasn`t got ventral body armour, an alligator does. If its mouth was closed you could look for the fourth lower incisor fitting into a notch on the upper jaw as well. I lecture on reptiles and mammals

Looks like a croc to me, would be much easier if mouth was closed (lower teeth should show on croc, hide on gater.) The angle kinda sucks for identification. Oh well, not like it matters too much, just dont stick your head in it`s mouth. My herpetology prof loves showing one clip of a dude doing that and the gater chomping down >.<

I saw this on TV - a shark bit off it`s front leg. And I think they called it a salt water crocodile, but I agree, I would call it an alligator. But what do I know.

Don`t know if this pic is real, but crocs and gators can get this big.

Gator, the guy is 6.5ft:

Croc, supposed to be 15-16ft:
