    I had to watch this with the sound off due to the overwhelming self-aggrandizing intro and voice over.

    hey guys, sometimes (actually most times) actions speak louder than words.

    Dude has a point. If whales went around damaging our boats, we`d have exterminated them by now without a second thought.

    @CrakrJak

    Yes I know whales are protected but they are legally fished in several countries. I don`t know if humpbacks are still off limits, but they are no longer endangered since a few years ago.
    It looks like this happened off California though, so I doubt there was any legal fishing going on there.

    Enjin: Even if humpback whales are not considered `Endangered` anymore there is still the status of `Threatened` in the law that still protects them to a great degree.

    However, Japan and Norway still hunt Minke whales which are very common whales in both the northern and southern oceans, presumably for research purposes, and are not all threatened or endangered.

    The problem with that is there are environmental groups outraged that any whales, at all, are being hunted anywhere and attempt to disrupt these hunts by force. The main instigator of this is a group called the "Sea Shepherds" that try (and often fail spectacularly) to intervene, Even though they have no legal right to do so and several of their members have been arrested for piracy and convicted of the same.

    @Crackrjak, considering whales didn`t get to vote on the matter, what gives anyone the legal right to kill them? is it in the whale constitution? and in advance of your reply (hey your country can be premptive so can i) we protect morons, imbecils and all those who are unable to care for themselfs. what`s the diff?
