Seriously though, has any I-A-Ber received a Google+ invite and if how is the site? Who"s dropping Facebook for Google+?

Yayyy, Google+. Run Facebook into the ground. I`ve been waiting for it.

I`ve received like 10 invites and don`t want to bother. It`s enough that I receive adds based on words included in my g-mail.

I never had a Facebook. They pissed me off when I entered my last initial instead of the full name, and they`re like, "You have to use your real name." I said drat that, and stuck with MySpace as long as I could without embarrassing myself. I`d like to try google+, though. If anyone will invite me, I`ll be their friend. And you should go for that, because I`m awesome. :) [email protected]

G+ for the win. It will get better once everyone can join but there seems to be unlimited invites, so wtv.

I like Google+ a lot. As soon as most of my friends convert, I`m deleting Facebook.

I don`t trust Facebook, and I feel like any time I want to exercise some control over my account, I need to go through some convoluted process, get lost, look in the help page, and then follow random steps...just to protect my privacy.

"Does it worry anyone else that to sites like Facebook and Google all we are is livestock to be used for viewing corporate ads and thereby gaining them revenue?"

And IAB is different how?

"How is software evil? You guys need to get a grip."

Software is not evil, anymore than a gun is, but in the wrong hands, or handled irresponsibly, evil can easily be done.

@Draculya
"Google may not be all things to all people, but at least their motto is not `Do Evil`."

Here are some quotes from Eric Schmidt, Executive Chairman of Google:

"You get a billion people doing something, there`s lots of ways to make money. Absolutely, trust me. We`ll get lots of money for it."

"But one idea is that more and more searches are done on your behalf without you needing to type. I actually think most people don`t want Google to answer their questions, they want Google to tell them what they should be doing next."

“we know roughly who you are, roughly what you care about, roughly who your friends are.”

Google+ is still in beta - it`s not finished - and it`s already better than facebook. You can add those people you wish you didn`t have to add - parents, boss, whoever, and then assign them to a circle that doesn`t get to see your updates or photos or whatever. That right there is enough to win me over, forget all the other neat stuff.

I like it so far. If you install the android app be sure to switch off the option to automatically upload every photo and video you take on your phone. Unless you have unlimited bandwidth of course.

It puts them in a private album so don`t freak out if you already installed it.

i don`t get this "invite limit" thing. I just added everyone i had in my contacts and it popped up "invite them to google+!".
But so far, it`s meh+ No real diff from FB except for the circles bit, which admittedly is kinda nice.

Facebook is so full of crap and glitches now that I wont be surprise if become the new myspace.

Seriously, why did they even think it was a good idea to add a feature that can limit the amount of people you can view in the news feed area.

Facebook is so messed up that when someone does not reply fast enough I get the feeling something is going wrong with the website... I don`t think i`m the only one who does that.

Given how so many facebook posts I`ve seen in the last two years involve "I hate how facebook..." (changes things with no warning, or whatnot), I`m pretty sure everyone I know who has any "cool" points is looking towards Google+. Google+ just now needs to prove it`s better and more trustworthy than Facebook.

One thing I do know- it`s not the hipsters (the people who present themselves as cool because they present themselves as cool), I see artists (who show and run actual galleries), musicians (who are signed and play shows people attend) and website designers (who do it for a living) all really excited about it, and these are the people who set the trends on the horizon.

Facebook is so last decade. Move on. Google may not be all things to all people, but at least their motto is not "Do Evil". Sometimes it seems like that`s Suckerberg`s credo.

<--- Hears the facebook founder crying, remembering the `good old days` when his site had no competitors and several multi-billion dollar offers....Lesson learned here is know when you`ve peaked, and take the money the second it does.

Does anyone remember the Zune? Well, it`s from a big company trying to make do with the success of the iPod. I think it`s the same case here, the hipsters may be on to it, but I would think that many people are comfortable with the wall posts of Facebook to transition into a new one. Then again, you don`t have to spend some cash on the site to get it... In any case, meh. People will stay where majority of their friends will be most likely. Unless an entire circle of friends will move over from MySpace or Friendster or Twitter or Facebook to G+, then I don`t think it`s gonna go anywhere fast soon.

google+ still has it`s glitches to work out and not many people are on it, but I love the concept of circles, and I really love the concept of no stupid games (please keep the games away!). I think it will get better as time goes on, whereas fb is just getting more clunky

Your new chat sidebar sucks big hairy pendulous donkey balls. It`s obtrusive, shifts my whole page to the left, shows a random sampling of my friends, and doesn`t tell me which ones are online and available to chat. Please change it back.

Yeah, Google+ takes what Facebook has and makes it twice as awesome. The only down point to it is that not many people have it yet, lol.

I`m on Google+ but I don`t see it replacing FB. It seems a lot different and less user friendly. I got on FB and figured it out right away. I`m still trying to get some of the stuff on Google+.

I got the Google+ invite. So far unimpressed, but don`t know many people on it yet so I`m not paying much attention to it. But it does seem that every update that Facebook makes only makes the site worse.... Sidebar?

Social media kills it`s self. The fact that social media is so fickle is the downfall of it. Facebook kills myspace and something else kills facebook then something new will come along a couple years later and kill that off too. People need to stick with one place and stay there if they want any kind of stability in social media.

Google+ isn`t a FaceBook killer, it executes things better than Fb though, like 8 person video, Fb has Skype which only allows one-on-one at the moment. +ing Any website you can find on the internet is neat too.

I have been enjoying Google+ They really out did themselves on this project. Its like having google and facebook with news feeds built into one. Also while it may be a tad confusing to use at first it`s a bit easier then FB(imo) and easier on the eyes.

google+ is drating amazing. I can`t wait for it to physically rape facebook, it`s that good. If anyone wants an invite I`m happy to send some, but I need your email to send it and obviously people are a bit wary about handing their emails out to random people.

Oh god dammit... god bloody dammit. This is why I don`t like social networks! First my friends bugged me to join myspace, then my friends said to join bebo, then some other one I forgot and then facebook which I put off for years because I was getting tired of moving about all the time. 5 months ago my arm was twisted into joining and just as I have gathered friends all over again this comes up.

I am too old for this pooe!

kaagan, you`re talking about Wave? That wasn`t really social networking it was a new way of using email and combining instant messaging. They carried some of that over into gmail. I`m not totally sure why it didn`t catch on. I think a lot of googles problems are design based.

Google+ however has the potential to be a serious contender given the new wave of smartphones integrating social networking. Everyone thought Android was going to crash and burn too. Even though I don`t like Android, it`s here to stay.

Side note Mark Zuckerberg has a Google+ page. I`d see he`s at least curious about his new competition.

i have an account but pretty much no one`s on it yet, so... still using facebook. still, that`s how facebook itself came to overpower myspace.

so far i`m not very impressed, but not repelled either.

I`m on google+, I think its much better than facebook. Better privacy controls, a cleaner interface, and no stupid apps and quizzes (at least right now). It`s simply what a social network should be without the spam and other bs that facebook has added overtime.
