My little sister was into /b/ for years. Old news to me. Just another internet cult that can`t get enough vitamin D in their diets. Scaring people with revealing their personal information? I`m already drated on any money I have and I`m too much of a fatass to get kidnapped so it goes over my head anyway.

"To send men to the firing squad, judicial proof is unnecessary...These procedures are an archaic bourgeois detail. This is a revolution! And a revolutionary must become a cold killing machine motivated by pure hate. We must create the pedagogy of the The Wall! (El Paredón)" --Ernesto `Che` Guevara
Che was a purist political fanatic who saw everything in stark black and white. Therefore he vociferously opposed freedoms of religion, speech, press, assembly, protest, or any other rights not completely consistent with his North Korean-style communism. How many rock music-loving teens sporting Guevara t-shirts today know their hero supported Cuba’s 1960s’ repression of the genre? How many homosexual fans know he had gays jailed? --Dr. Douglas Young, Professor of Political Science & History

First thing I want to say: That picture in the last panel is kinda hot :o

Second thing: Wasn`t Anonymous as an organization just "founded" to protest Scientology? At least thats what I remember and I`m too lazy right now for wikipedia.

4chan was supposedly some underworld cultsesspoolspawningground for internet terrorists that few understood, but had heard about on the news.

Something tells me that there`s a new place like that that we just have not heard of yet. and soon, as the transission between the board and whatever the new side is over, we will hear about that new place on the TV :|

wait and see. you heard it from me first! remember that...
Wait, the public see Anonymous as terrorists? Where? Certainly not in my experience.
When people say they will close down government contractors communications, those who work in IT security see them as terrorists. Same with LULzsec, they soon did a uturn once they found out exactly how much trouble they`d be in if they actually did try anything on their stated targets. Hell even stealing a laptop these days can get you slapped with terrorist charges depending on who it belongs to and what`s on it. A laptop isn`t hardware anymore, it`s information that could be worth millions depending on who`s it is and what they do.

Anonymous used to be a lot more threatening than they are now, a lot of people liked the idea of true privacy on the internet and used it to their advantage. Seeing as that is slowly dissipating throughout the entire internet as well as on 4chan, so too is anonymous.

So the fact that you even know what anonymous or 4chan is, pretty much means that it`s over and has been for a while. Still a nice time waster, though.

diylobotomy,
That`s an excellent question. I don`t remember there ever being a solid answer on the issue in my philosophy classes.
Perhaps we can learn something from other examples. I know, lets start by asking America why it was heroic to attack countries they "didn`t like" and then work our way backwards to all the other countries, sects and groups that did the same thing to those they "didn`t like".
To be clear, I`m taking your meaning of "didn`t like" to mean rationalized dislikes such as "they will attack our freedoms" or "their actions are an affront to our god".
I guess it`s nice to know Anonymous hasn`t gone after those they dislike/disagree with using guns, bombs or drones.

Though it may not read that way, the above is to point out that "heroic" seems subjective and Locke isn`t that different than how you might act to a different group. Not to be snippy toward diylobotomy.

Let`s look at what Anonymous has done:

- attacked Scientology
- defended Wikileaks
- attacked the Westboro Baptist Church

They`re heroes in my book

basketkase: I find that really hard to believe. There is no evidence that Che murdered anyone. It is a common myth brought forth by the US propaganda machine, fueled of course, by the Cuban immigrants from Florida.

It`s hard to see the truth of role model when you hear it, but the truth is there, just research it yourself.

And I`m sorry for so many posts, I just got a little carried away there.

"I`m sure Jesus of Nazareth was just as terrible as Ernesto Guevara the person, and still the icons of both are flawless."

Jesus did kill quite a few people as a child (hard to believe, but he was a brat) but after he learned a conscious, he was a man of peace, he was a lot more like Gandhi in terms of revolutionaries, Guevara simply was not peaceful, he killed hundreds of people personally and mostly publicly.

But you may counter: "Jesus indirectly killed hundreds of THOUSANDS more than Guevara through religious wars, just look at the Inquisition and the Crusades!"

Those were INDIRECT killings, responsible by those who decided to take the word out of place, Hundreds of years ago, the church was completely corrupt and overpowered, and those in charge caused a lot of hell for financial gain and said it was because God told them to. That of course is total `bull`.

Che`s killings were DIRECT, he was the one who volunteered himself

And for those who don`t listen to the truth about Che because they think it`s just "American Bias":

Why is it that when people hear things that they don`t want to, they blame it simply on the bias of the other party?

He didn`t die tearfully pleading for his life, but he did try to weasel his way out of his execution, but it was ordered it to happen, and they put him up on a firing line, and they told the shooters to carefully aim to make it look like he was killed in combat (legs, different angles, etc.) to match the story spread to the public. He was a man of honor for his country and cause all the way to the end, which can be admired.

Also, the post is probably correct, I know someone who I think is in Anonymous and he looks EXACTLY like that guy only with long greasy hair and a creepy Lincoln-esque beard.

So what exactly has Anonymous done to deserve so much scorn. I know very little of them, though I`ve heard a few things.

Oh, and EVERYONE is the last picture. Come on, you know it`s true. Even the hot ones get all greasy and nerdy when they see porn on the computer. You just don`t notice cause you`re looking too. :)

"They see him as only the revolutionary, not the monster he really was, which I think is just silly."

I`m sure Jesus of Nazareth was just as terrible as Ernesto Guevara the person, and still the icons of both are flawless.

Che the icon is a symbol for many South Americans who are fighting the ambitions of USA. If they lose him, how will they get the morale boost they need?

Kpres was half right.

Che was a terrible man, taking enjoyment out of personally executing usually innocent people just because they have something to do with the government he was overthrowing. He was also a blatant racist, saying in his words: "The black is indolent and a dreamer; spending his meager wage on frivolity or drink; the European has a tradition of work and saving, which has pursued him as far as this corner of America and drives him to advance himself, even independently of his own individual aspirations." He also hated America and wanted with every part of his mind to destroy it.

They see him as only the revolutionary, not the monster he really was, which I think is just silly.

lol. This is pretty funny. Although I doubt Anonymous sees themselves as being in any way similar to a Communist revolutionary. Their actions have a far more anarchist flavor to them (although to be fair, I`ve seen a lot of self-described anarchists sporing Che shirts, which is a lol-and-a-half).

"Che Guevara? Really? You mean Anonymous sees themselves as a racist mass murderer who died begging in tears for his life?"

If your comment was not so biased to the point that you come off as more animal than human in the twilight state the vast majority of people suffer, it would be easier for me to comment on the difference between Guevara the man and Guevara the icon.
