People find racism where they want to.
This is the first "I found racism" post that is actually semi-funny though.

Why is it racist to put melon and battered food together?

It`s kind of interesting, the people who see racism in this are oversensitive douchebags. The people who find it kind of funny(Me) are sort of racist and prone to thinking in stereotypes for humor purposes. The people who say "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS, I`M WHITE AND EAT CHICKEN AND WATERMELON ALL THE TIME!!!" are the biggest undercover racists on the planet. LOL

It`s science. The juice and sugar in the melon cuts the salt and grease from the chicken allowing one to eat more chicken. I still haven`t figured out why it`s a stereotype when all peoples find it delicious. It`s like saying Jews love doughnuts and Chinese love apples

Everybody likes fried chicken and watermelons. Black people just seem to think of them as staple foods.

Unless the drink machine consists of KoolAid, grape soda and Old English, then it aint racist.

Last night I made a big batch of fried chicken and Puerto rican style rice and beans, and I`m of Irish decent. What does that make me? Confused, probably.

Having been raised in an urban area, it`s absolutely true.

Being ghost-white myself, it`s a wonderfully great combination. Try it. God damn it now I`m hungry THANKS A LOT IAB

The claim is that black people like malt liquor (beer), watermelon and fried chicken. As if all other races hate beer and fried chicken, and delicious fruit.

Racist?! Putting two of my favorite thing next to each other isn`t racist- it`s convenient!

"It`s only racist if you debate whether or not it`s racist."

I agree. There is nothing wrong with putting some watermelon next to chicken... unless you make it a problem.

My grandmamma always put out a bowl of watermelon with fried chicken. I the association was a racial joke until Dave Chappelle...though I didn`t know Spear Chucker was a racial pejorative either. I guess I`m just behind on my racism :/

The staff serving chicken got tired of being asked "Where`s the watermelon at?" by customers of ALL colours, eh?

I just ate pan-fried chicken! mmmm! No melon though...

The display is not racist.

The fact that someone would find racism in something that clearly is not says one of two things:

1) They are overly sensitive as they try to deny the racism that they, themselves, possess.

Or

2) They have an agenda that requires them to be `offended` in order to qualify their attempts of intimidation and extortion of money from someone with large pockets. (example: Jesse Jackson)

Umm Hello stores set up display products by what is sold most in the area! This is obviously what the customers want........you can decide whether they are black or not. Who dosent like those together in the summer? All this " That`s Racist" crap on here is annoying, it is what it is.

The only thing racist about this post is the ignorant moron who posed the question. Yes, there is cuisine known as soul food. I live in Detroit. I am not African American, but fried chicken with waffles and greens finished with banana cream pie or watermelon is the bomb. Get out of your little sheltered world with your small mind.
