Cat person, dog person. Or you could interact with ur own species. Just saying. "Desrcibed as successful and admirable."

Meh, I like both cats and dogs, but for now my entire life I`ve only had hamsters and fishes as pets

I hate cats. I can`t have my dog outside with out a leash but, people can let their cats roam free at night.

90% of these statistics appear to be likely to be wrong.

I fail to see any value in this information but it looks polished enought to earn somebody shares in stock that will bubble then pop leaving he/she with nothing once more . . .

It says you like dogs. Or its says you like cats. Basically, that is all.

lerato:
"11% More likely to be" does not mean "you are definitely going to be", otherwise there wouldn`t be numbers with percentages next to them.

There is a book by Stanley Coren entitled" Why we love the dogs we do" or something similar...has some tidbits from his own research on dog vs cat people and what stood out the most was the money people would spend to save the animal...dog people would pay more, cats seemed more easily replaceable. Not saying I agree.
I am a dog person BTW and I own several types of pets including reptiles and cats, but my dog is the most important to me.

I am a cat person, and the media section peeved me because I`ve heard of nearly none of that stuff. But, this is all general, I`m sure there`s lots of people in the other demographics that disagree with some or all of the lumps. That`s the thing with averages. Mnaahhwell.

All they really found out is that people with dogs are more likely to take a walk outside.

62% of US households vs 40% of hunch users...
You cannot add apples and oranges.

IkeRay, you apparently don`t know the difference between households and individuals. 62% of households have pets, and 60% of individuals live in those households.

Implying (ever so slightly) that people who live alone are more likely to have animals than families.

""62% own pets"
"40% said they don`t have any pets"

didn`t read any further"

according to my calculator you don`t know simple addition

""62% own pets"
"40% said they don`t have any pets"

didn`t read any further"

If you got that from the graph you did the math wrong.

vv @IkeRay: One is US National numbers, the other is this INTERnational survey. Do pay attention, eh?
You too @SephirothA83!!

Kinda silly results, not particularly meaningful IMHO...

I`m a mix of both. I have a dog, but I`d prefer a cat. My wife is allergic. Of course if I had a choice I might not have either one. Cats are easier to care for and don`t care if you`re home or not.

Cats are easier to keep when you have less space, dogs are easier to keep when you have lots of space

some of this seems plausible (rural vs. city, sporty vs. not, etc.) but others just seems random >> have characteristics of both because I like both

dogs FTW

nothin against cats but dogs tend to be more active and fun whereas cats do their own quiet little thing

and actually more of the `cat person` things apply to me than the `dog person` things

Im a dog person, however some of the ""cat people"" characteristics apply as well as the ""dog people"" characteristics.

Dogs are better than cats.
