Cost $10,000,000.00 to make the scene but it never made the cut.

Did you see all that green stuff? Too dangerous for me; I`d have used a crystal probe to probe that jagged orifice. But then, I`m no superman.

"Pause at 5:12.

Begin fapping."

Dude, the bit at 5:12 is probably why they cut the scene. I was expecting Sasha Grey.

Cut for pacing I suspect, you can`t have something like this in a modern film as, sadly, it`s true that people have no attention span these days. Very imnpressive in it`s own right though.

Is that the same guy who plays Todd Ingram in Scott Pilgrim vs The World?

Frankly, I think that looked like the beginning of an awesome Superman movie, rather than the poo we got. I mean, Lex Luthor? A-freakin-gain???? Enough with the Lex Luthor crap -- it`s boring! With that as the beginning, that Superman movie could have been a lot more like the recent Green Lantern, with awesome space stuff, Brainiac, Darkseid, or any of the epic Superman villains. Please, just no more F`ing Lex Luthor. Please!!!

This scene, like every other in the movie, was a complete tease with a lot of potential, but in the end nothing happens.

$10M for a scene that was almost entirely greenscreened? I have a hard time believing it.

They should have cut the entire film.. It was complete trash in every single respect. I even lost some respect for kevin Spacey due to that movie.

What about that cost $10,000,000.00?!? Did they put in the man hours and research time to grow crystals that fast for real?! I think Craig from down the street could create this on his Mac for a case of beer....

I thought it was cool, it was rather pretty; superman goes back to krypton to explore.. within the movie I think it would have been fine, for 10million I would have left it in there just because.

The whole movie was a waste of time.

No wonder it got cut. I watched the whole thing waiting for something to happen. What utter, boring trash.

I was effin scared for the first ten seconds of this being just another idiotic Nyan Cat thing and that demon from hell appearing on the screen... Don`t really know why though. The space in this doesn`t even look that Nyan Cat-ishy (<-I know that isn`t a word).

But anyway, I`m so glad it was just this.

The first 5 seconds were the best part of the whole clip.

That movie was a piece of garbage. Just absolute garbage. It was the superman you wanted to bitch-slap and say "MAN UP!"

Pretty cool, but I don`t know what the hell he`s doing in a ship made of rock while staring at a big S in the middle of nowhere.

Reminds me of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
It was cool, but 9/10ths of the movie was waiting for the next part to happen.

10 mil? It would have been cheaper if they just used CGI instead...

Well this scene was pretty cool. Much of the movie sucked though.

So he spent like 5 years(?) traveling through space to see a big S, and then running away?
You would have thought he just might suspect there would be just a little bit of Kryptonite around Krypton. But what do you expect from people who think the Three Stooges version of Lex Luther is a great villain for every other movie.

This franchise (outside of Smallville) has just been a waste.

Man some peoples attention spans must be short. I thought this scene was really captivating right up to the end. Really well shot and executed. Definitely not your typical Hollywood drivel. No wonder it didn`t make the final cut.

visually appealing, but was dumb and unnecessary. im glad it didnt make the cut, it would have made a bad movie just ever so slightly worse.

Superman`s only weakness is Kryptonite. Jack Bauer laughs at Superman for having a weakness.

@danthew, Its not the lack of Kryptonite that gives him power, Superman draws his power from Earth`s yellow sun, but he would be powerless on Krypton due to its red sun, however, Kryptonite isnt just the planet its irradiated parts of the plannet from Krypton`s sun exploding.

Yeah, cut because it`s long, boring and doesn`t make any sense.
Presumably that was the destroyed remains of Krypton, but the scale was all wrong, and I thought Superman on Krypton was like a normal person because of Kryptonite, it`s Earth`s lack of Kryptonite that gives him superpowers could be wrong, my knowledge of Superman is embarrassingly low.
Also how could he get so far in to the planet before getting affected by the Kryptonite all around him? And who, to avoid an obstacle they are about to crash into, sets a destination to a random location instead of just going left? What if the way to Earth was to go forwards?
