Why do we need to say the pledge more than once? What, do they not trust us?

@human_exile:
Well, where I lived up until 10th grade if you didn`t say the pledge you got in trouble, so I didn`t really have a choice.

"This is America, and if you don`t like it you can Get Out!"

..sound familiar? I love reading comments like that. What mindless patriotism. How about if we don`t like it we try to change it? Wouldn`t that be a bit more `patriotic`?

Kinda funny, but too much political crapola tacked on at the end.

@lytle , Nah soldiers don`t discriminate, they kill anything they are given orders to... plus some extra when bored. But in context to the Video the kids were referencing other kids in their age range. that will grow up by the time they would serve in the military.

I never saw the point of saying a pledge of allegiance at school. I didn`t have to do anything like that when I went to school in the UK. I don`t think being forced to repeat a pledge everyday at a young age is going to make you any more proud of your country...

Uh... Did they mean to imply that our military is a bunch of baby killers. I understand the majority of what they are saying and think a lot of it has merit, but, really, they took it a step too far.

*facedesk..* Thats just so wrong..

Honestly, I said the pledge the entire time in school, not because I had to but I did it out of respect of this country. If you dont like what this country does, either try to vote to make changes or just leave. Its that simple, get off your lazy arses and stop flexing your e-peen and do something about it.

haha, yea that`s pretty accurate. All my public schools required it regardless of religion or whatever your excuse was, if you didn`t say it you got ISS (in school suspension) and if you were a repeat offender you got OSS (out of school suspension). I set a school record for most ISS`s and OSS`s ever given to a single student, and each year I would set a new record. Did this in both junior high and high school. Not all the suspensions were from refusing to say the pledge, but I never once said it after about 3rd grade, because I thought it was BS. later in life I started thinking for myself and was glad I hadn`t said it back then.

America didn`t lose the cold war, so it never suddenly lost the overly patriotic propogandist crap that came with it.

By the time I was in high school nobody ever even bothered to stand up for the pledge of allegiance anymore. Not even some of the teachers.
