Seems a little like you`re stretching it. You can choose all kinds of things that are similar about the stories and all kinds of things that are not similar. Of course the main idea is that they`re all good overcoming evil, but that`s typically how stories work, so there`s nothing new here.

Um...it`s a method of story telling called, "The Hero`s Journey". It`s as old as time itself.
Yes, it`s formulaic, but that`s why it`s so successful. We`ve been telling stories of this kind since we could throw poo at each other.

Simba wasn`t friends with two social outcasts until after he stopped living happily ever after, was never an Orphan, Scar *did* take over the pridelands, and didn`t really use a mountain to kill scar. (He was killed by Hyenas).

Also Vader never lost a fight to Luke, and *spoiler alert* Vader is Luke`s Dad, ergo, not an Orphan.

poo!!! My plot is blown again! I have to come up with a new script...

Seriously, the scene in "2012" with the An225 on the way to Hawaii is just like a gag I wrote, with music, in 2004 (but did not publish...)

Homer said there were only about 7 plots and all stories are built by combining them like music.
When applied to any period, contemporaries will always
produce overlap.

BTW, Avatar is totally Disney`s Pocahontas done in space.

Except C3P0 and R2D2 were looking specifically fo r Obi Wan and happened upon Luke. At no point were they "living happily" with him.

It was really good until it got to the defeating part. Then it kind of went whack...

Orphan doesn`t mean their parents are dead. Where was Darth throughout Luke`s life, huh? Orphan.

There`s this weird thing called The Heroic Pattern, so guess what? Heroic stories are going to follow that pattern.

I`m definitely on Joeraccoons side on this one. The number of errors in this pic is astounding. Vader didn`t try to take over the galactic empire, he (palpatine) was already in power. Cinderella didn`t exactly live happily, and her stepmother did not try to take over the kingdom.

If you are going to do a thing like this, it has to be at least moderately accurate.

There is no right combination to make Frodo have 2 outcast friends and no more.

How is alfred the butler a social outcast? and when did the joker try to take over gotham city, to my knowledge he has only ever tried to blow it up, and he definitely was never stopped with a batarang. He was stopped with strength of will and a whole arsenal of crazy shiz. And luke didnt beat vader with a lightsaber, he beat emperor palpatine with vader. And simba wasnt an orphan until scar tried to take over the pride lands. This is dumber than idiocy. This is 4chan dumb.

Actually they were BOTH outcasts. Pumba`s outcast story was outlined in Lion King 1, and Timon`s outcast story was outlined in Lion King 1 1/2.

outcast at one point. but only to unite adn lead the jungle to acunamatada.. you dont learn acunamatada but sitting around under a log like a social outcast!!

"a stretch.. timone and pumba were not social outcast. they were at the peak of the social ladder.. they knew everyone!!"

I can still use the 4 year old daughter excuse right? RIGHT!?!

"Simba did not defeat Scar by using a "Pride Rock".
"

Well technically he did. In Mortal Kombat terms, it was an enviroment kill where Scar tried to sneak attack Simba, Simba threw him over the edge, where he was turned into Hyena feces.

Yeah, I have a 4 year old daughter...What, WHAT!!!!

Luke Skywalker wasn`t an orphan, his father is alive and is an integral part to the story.

Actually, that was Cinderella`s step mother..Her mother was ill and died. Then her father did the same. And i believe the point with the Mice is that those were the two that were the social outcasts of all the creatures. In fact in the original book they were a bit on the special side.

ALFRED IS NOT AN OUTCAST. He is a badass.

The Evil Godmother from Cinderella wasn`t trying to take over the Kingdom.

Simba did not defeat Scar by using a "Pride Rock".

Chewbacca and Han would be better social outcasts than C-3PO and R2D2.

definitely a stretch. Darth Vader already took over the galactic empire.

The droids were droids, not social outcasts.

Baloo and Bagheera were feared and respected throughout the entire jungle.

Simba wasn`t even really an orphan. His dad died, but his mom was still alive.

Cinderella`s mom didn`t try to take over jack squat, an she was only friends with the mice inasmuch as they were willing to help make her dress. Hell, she was friends with ALL the woodland critters, not just those two.

Kinda obvious, btw you could probably add a hundred more blockbusters to the list... But if you look at black & white movies this rule doesn`t work as much, the good old days when hollywood wasn`t so lazy.
