Lucky for him most thugs/gang members shoot to look cool, and end up being very inaccurate. If they took to few seconds it takes to actual grip the gun and take aim, he`s be dead from the first shot, sh*t, they were not even two feet away, how do you miss that close.

Badass, but it is best to let them get away with it. Property loss is a small thing compared to the risk of escalating an armed robbery.

@Talon

I recognize the double standard that you bring up. However the societies in which both take place are extremely different. Hippies and a Draft does not create a lot of support among the populace there by diminishing the returns of the soldiers from Vietnam. Today, you have post 9/11 terrorism and the threat of further attacks by such terrorists. Society sees the effects a lot clearer as they have seen and understand the reason we originally went into the middle east.

Now here is a double standard. Viet Nam vs Now. Those guys got poo on when they came back. Iraq which is another war the west should have not gotten into, and every "hero" is forgotten as they left the airplane or boat in a bag. 800 times the number of soldiers were killed in Viet Nam, and a guy that survives a strategic war is a hero? You know what people, stand up and defend your own neighbourhood, Get your street together and stand up to the punks. And kick your own kids ass if they get out of line . Did we have child protection laws back in the 50`s? Hell no. Did your dad strap your ass? Did you stop doing what you did? Damn right, that belt hurt your ass, now you kids disrespect your parents with laws that protect you. And you expect them to respect and support you until you move out when you are 30.

We need more people like this in the world. Screw people who want to take the easy way out by stealing and hurting other people to get money. It`s pathetic. Life is tough for everyone, but you don`t get anywhere by hurting others. If you do, it doesn`t last for long. HIstory has proven this again and again.

Ummm, he actually did good - as in to do something good. He didn`t do very well though, because he was shot.

Are these guys hero or bad example?
Citizens are generally advised to abstain from retaliating to robbers.
Even if you are a expert you shouldn`t attack an armed robber ,if you are not having the gun yourselves.whats the point in risking your lives for saving the robbery of few dollars.

"this is nothing that we encourage the average citizen to do"

Sh*t most cops are dumber, fatter, and more scared than the average citizens. They wont do sh*t until there are 50 more fat pigs behind them.
