I watched the unedited footage of this. The hilarious part is that the reporter is not actually talking to the people through his phone, it was previously recorded. He`s doing what we call a "look-live", but he just looks retarded doing it.

He hit a cop with his car. Well duh he`s gonna get his cap peeled.

Also, the bike cop at the end didn`t have a gun. It was a tazer.

Not stupid. I`ve washed a few cell phones. What always survives? The sim card and the memory card. It is a sealed piece of solid state electronics. If you let it dry before you try to use it again, water will not harm it.

...There`s "no complaints" about the cell phone destruction? Yeah, because getting a gun shoved in your face will make you go to the same people shoving the gun in your face to complain about it.

LMAO, I know there isn`t anything funny about the subject, but the reporter picking up the phone acting like he`s talking to them is way too funny.

As for the "No complaints" Part, you tend to file those with the police, so who are they to complain too exactly?

He supposedly hit a cop that morning, not 15 seconds ago.
In either case, they fire like 30 rounds at him? Obviously he didn`t have a gun or that would have been mentioned. So they shoot a guy, arrest witnesses (then let them go) and smash evidence? Pigs is Pigs!

I`ve often wondered why police are not trained to have a designated shooter,or shooters in such cases. The designation can be applied to officers in a certain perspective or placement to the scene.Seems it would be safer and more efficient than everybody on scene unloading their weapons.

Another IAB Caption fail. Tell me again, how the hell would putting a SIM card in your mouth do any good. What are you protecting, your phone number and account information?

Photos and Videos are NOT stored on the sim cards, thats what SD and Internal memory are for....

how did the memory card not get ruined being in your mouth ?

    auburnjunky
yes, this is the most stupid question.
no electricity + water= wet metal....
and for your cell phones it`s the centrifugal force and soap that ruined it.

SIM and memory cads electronic is completely sealed no water nor air could ever get to it and they are extremely small components so that`s why hey survive

WTF we have the right to photograph and take video of police. Flex your rights people and good for him for hiding the sim card. These few bad police officers need to cut this out now and if it takes vido of it so be it.

vv @JoeYC police fired around 100 shots. Not a typo! A hundred!

Also I read that there was a gun INSIDE the car but the cops didn`t know that or see it until after the shooting.
The guy was driving wrecklessly, sure, but is that a reason to shoot him one hundred times?

do they know what the word legitimacy means?

`The Enlightenment-era British social theoretician John Locke said that political legitimacy derives from popular explicit and implicit consent: “The argument of the [Second"> Treatise is that the government is not legitimate unless it is carried on with the consent of the governed.”[2">`

There is a dangerous precedent of people not being able to video police in public. This is why we should be allowed to videotape them. They are public servants and aren`t subject to the same rights as others when they are on duty.

We absolutely do not need to be ALLOWED to record cops. If a US citizen sees it, there is no law against that citizen recording it--we do not need f*cking PERMISSION. I`d much rather pass up the ass-kicking though, so, just don`t let them catchya. But, if they DO catch you...keep tape rollin!

It would seem to me that if the incident occurred in a public place, then the police would have no reasonable expectation of privacy.

I don`t know nearly enough about what happened here to say that the police used excessive force, but cops need to be held accountable when they do. The idea that they should be allowed to do their jobs without citizen oversight is absurd. The wiretapping laws that cops use to prevent people from filming them in public places need to be reversed- in an age where anybody can potentially produce news by filming an event with their cellphone, freedom of the press should apply to EVERYONE. As long as you`re not directly interfering with the cops` ability to do their job, you should be allowed to film them.

@shappy- there are good cops out there, and there are cops who, like most people, do both good and bad things. The US does have a pervasive problem with unchecked abuse of police power, but that doesn`t mean that every cop is a villain. Life just isn`t that black and white.

I have met good cops and I have met bad cops. For the life of me, I cannot understand why it`s at all an issue for us to record them doing what they do. If I hand someone a badge and a gun, you`re damned right I`m going to keep pretty close tabs on that guy.

My brother is a cop, I`ve had friends who were cops. Most of the cops I`ve had dealings with have been extremely courteous, professional, even at times apologetic for having to cite me for doing something illegal.
But then I don`t do stupid poo like ram people with my car while trying to flee arrest.
Cops are people, and like people they range from polite and professionl to corrupt dickheads with the vast majority of them sitting comfortably in the `just trying to do their jobs and go home to their family`
