whether the driver deserved to die or not should have been up to a jury of his peers. I think our prison systems are choked up and am not sad to see a waste of oxygen removed from the world, but he had stopped. the officers opening up like that and acting the way the did afterwards is a scary testament to the corruption of our system, and to what happens when cowards with authority have firearms of their own. how are their actions any better than someone doing a driveby?

we have a penal system for a reason, jeefy. as officers of law they should be held to a higher standard of conduct, and although i wont complain that that man will never be on the street to hurt anyone again, i also worry that that they will be.

Of course 100 rounds is alot but i mean in a situation where guns are drawn and adrenaline pumping I would probably go ape poo crazy with a gun too, doesn`t matter if your a trained police officer everyone gets scared. Not saying the police are right, just saying poo happens

How can anyone defend the police here? Listen to how many rounds they fire. Even if you`re insane enough to think that firing that much live ammo at one person and in an area where there are civilians present is OK, then you would still have to at least admit that they must all be ridiculously poor shots to need that many goes to take him out. The pigs actually found themselves in some potentially real danger for a change and they poo themselves.

Maybe I am wrong, but it looks like the cop in the back of the car accidentally discharges his weapon then they all open fire like is a gun range..

So i read that the cops fired about 100 rounds at the guy. One Hundred!!
There was a gun inside the car, BUT the cops didn`t know that and did not see it until after the shooting (when they searched the car, eh?).

Y`all have to be joking in saying it`s "justified" to shoot a human 100 times for wreckless driving! Talk about overkill!

DUH there`s no video of cops destroying the cameras! lolz!

This is a tragic accident, IMO. BUT the cops are being pigs when they cover it up! Human rights aren`t there for the cops to give or take as they please, they`re RIGHTS!

Furthermore I see no destruction of evidence or cell phones in the video (obviously) and you have to rely on the word of 2 people that it happened. Given when the recording stopped and if they were actually put on the ground and detained there were already police around the vehicle, they would not have had much of an opportunity to hide the card. not to mention being detained for a good amount of time with it in his mouth without it slipping or being noticed. Especially if they were looking for it, they didn`t search him? It just doesn`t add up. I say the police are justified in everything. Good prevention of further crime.

I`d say the police are justified in everything the video shows.

Shooting - Of course, 9 police officers don`t just open fire simultaneously for no reason. Especially after what the criminal did i certainly wouldn`t be taking chances.

Detaining video and people: the video is evidence in a shooting, it is evidence and needs to be reviewed. The people were at the scene of a shooting, they need to give a statement.

The police officer pointing the gun at the couple while they were in the car: Load mouth civilian walking away gets inside a dark car and points something at the officer, after what just happened the couple is lucky they didn`t get shot. Legal to videotape, sure, but you`re relying on police during a tense situation to not mistake it for a gun and open fire quickly before they get shot.
Nice of cameraman to yell at the police that he got it all on tape
lolz! I was wondering who they were telling that to, I thought it was the guy walking beside them (seen briefly) but why were they yelling it over and over? Answer: they were taunting the cops! Well no wonder they got "held for questioning" (the other video covers that part, but the couple fails to mention the yelling)

Did the guy in the car even have a gun?

It`s bullpoo that the cops would try to destroy evidence like that, when it`s such a huge issue when a criminal does it. The cops need to be immediately dismissed for that kind of bull poo.

After reading the full story on a few different websites, the police were justified in shooting this drating moron who had more than enough chances. He knew his life was on the line if he made another wrong move, and he did. Oh well, get the drat out of my gene pool.

@condor335 Well, I have never seen that. The most I have seen is when said person being pulled over has a concealed weapons permit, which then the cop will more or less just unlatch the holster for his gun and keep his hand on it, but not exactly hold it out. Course what do I know, I mean, I used to live next to a cop and have seen those sorts of things quite a bit when I would walk home from school. =P

Why should nomoniggas be banned? You cant face the possibility that the suspect was doing something wrong? If he hadn`t stolen the car , tried to run an officer over and shoot out the window at officers, maybe he would still be alive today.
OHH wait, I see now,, you dont like his name...As far as I am concerned , as long as blacks keep calling each other "niggas" then its fair game for everyone else to say it.}-)

I would have to agree with auburnjunky here. England has just as many issues as the US. You cannot blame the entire police system on a handful of radical situations that spun out of control. Hell, I`m from wisconsin where we have had how many mass murderers and serial killers. Does that mean there is something wrong with my state?

Scary stuff. I wonder if the suspect in the car made some kind of movement causing one officer to fire. If one fired, they all start firing.

Seriously people in this country get dumber and dumber every day.

The cops hit 4 bystanders for being scared of doing their job right. I guess its OK to shoot innocent people as long as your a cop scared Sh*tless.

The PD did more damage than that one guy with a car could have. Bunch of power hungry morons.

killing the guy in the car? totally justified and legal. jumping and arresting the guy with the phone? legal but un justified. anyone who may have be ACCIDENTLY hit during the fireing? legal and justified. they definately deserve compensation for their injuries and trauma but poo happens unfortunately.

Wait a tick, in the first one they claim it`s the same guy on the building as down below filming. Than how the hell did he get them shooting from both spots. Shenanigans I tell you! I find it hard to believe that they unloaded like that twice. Perhaps they did, gun fire is supposed to be highly contagious.

Police in England would be armed with guns if your citizens had the freedom to bear arms.

The American police force is disgusting. Why do they feel the need to get all trigger happy is just about any situation? The point of the juridical system is to trial criminals fairly, and correct them, not kill them when something kicks off. Police in England are armed with tazers to help when something kicks off, shooting in a street like this leads to mass panic and gang warfare.

anyone defending these cops needs to think a little harder, 4 innocent people were injured because of all those firearms going off, we are not defending the man in the car. we are defending the people on the street. the innocent man who had his cell phone stolen and destroyed and the 4 people who were caught in the crossfire. just because you enforce the law doesnt make you above it. thats destruction of evidence. not to mention they unloaded their whole clips on the car. that is EXTREMELY excessive.

So this idiot ran over a cop with his car (assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon), Didn`t listen to police commands to "Get your hands up", and people are wondering why he got shot ?

The only inappropriate actions I see that may have occurred, and that is only according to this one guy is that his phone was broken.

Btw, Nice of cameraman to yell at the police that he got it all on tape, Real smooth move there exlax.

Egypt, UAE, they cut peoples heads off- don`t think thats happened over here. Cops get shot all the time during routine traffic stops by some dumb ass that robbed a liquor store because they don`t have a job and money to buy beer. If people would be respectful to cops instead of spitting on them, getting lippy, resisting arrest,or commiting other crimes then maybe these things wouldn`t happen.

I think there is something deeper going on here. Quite often police become involved in shady dealings. I think this guy knew too much and he got whacked. These officers should be deeply investigated but I doubt they will be.

@IceDragon77, in many parts of the United States, officers do routine traffic stops with weapons already drawn. These days it doesn`t take much for a PO to draw his weapon.

@Pandabee First, what did you do to get arrested or attract a cops attention in the first place? Second, what did you do that caused him to pull out his firearm, something 95% of cops only do if they are in a threatening situation?

Devils advocate: (No I don`t think this was right)
The only way this could be defended is that they had cornered him before and asked him to step out of the car but instead he took off and hit and injured a cop. This time when they cornered him they assumed he would not comply and would use the car as a weapon again based on previous experience so they felt the need to respond with deadly force. - Then they panicked.

I`m pretty sure that many bullets was unnecessary. My military training taught me to shoot once, and shoot to kill. The risk of missing and hitting someone else is too great at any time.
