My favorite part was when it was making the noise inside his closed mouth. Gross and compelling at the same time. An IAB win! lol

Looks bad, but since cicadas are born to be eaten, it`s just Mother Nature at work.

I`ve heard that after a few days/nights of CONSTSNT noise, people lose patience with cicadas; wishing them a variety of horrible demises.

@Turnshroud. Cicada life cycle varies between species lasting 2-5, 13, or 17 years, so you may witness cicada`s more often than every 17 years. Also years of emergence can also differ between regions, so that the 17 year brood in TN may not occur the same year as say PA. In recent years it was found that broods emerged years` earlier, although scientists are unsure why. Just an FYI.

I have a friend that eats live ones. He says they taste like peanuts, except... well they`re crawling on your tongue

theshgn2, ive been in areas during cicada season. it might just be me but the only bad thing i could think of would be what sportsfan94 said about windshields. that could be kind of nasty, and i would probably feel bad every time i hit one.

I thought cicaos only come out every 17 years or something? Or is that just the time it takes for them to mature?

I saw a bunch of cicada a few years back. They are very, very, very loud

I find this to be semi-funny. You`re cool if you get the pun.

"I love cicadas. I wish I lived somewhere where they were more prominent."
No you don`t. Every day of spring and summer you hear "Bzzzzzzz" For hours. Then, before they die off, they leave their exoskeletons on your trees. It`s disgusting.

He`s like a cat playing with a bug.
Why doesn`t the thing fly away though? Does it WANT to die?
I get june bugs where I am, and they are huge and scary as sh*t. I only see them a lot near the park, and once it gets dark enough the bats come out and eat them. It`s quite cool to watch on Canada Day before the fireworks.

cicadas might be the worst things ever. All they do is ruin your windshield, fly into you whenever you walk ANYWHERE outside, and make everywhere smell like death once they go away. It`s awful

Those things are finally starting to die. Ugh. They are so loud. There were thousands in my yard. Now the little dead bugs smell horrid. Ugh.
