The only people who didn`t already know this are people who are FOX News viewers and believe that FOX News is exactly what it claims to be.

FOX News has a much larger conservative agenda than most of the other major news outlets have a liberal one. It`s as if they single-handledly are trying to balance out all of the other perceived liberal bias from everyone else.

Crackr: Again what matters is the data, not the source. Find a flaw in that and we have something to talk about. It came from George Soros is not an argument.

Stewart plays his game of bouncing back and forth between wanting to be seen as legit and claiming to be a comedian. Nothing is funny about someone that makes claims based on false info, and then when he`s caught lying retreats to "But it`s just comedy" excuse, It`s two-faced.

I actually agree with that, in the instances it happens.

Actually Mike Huckabee was a pundit by the time Stewart invited him on his show.

Cajun247: Even if the `Daily Show` has had conservatives on with Stewart it does not refute the bias evident in that e-mail.

Also Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich, Laura Bush, and Mike Huckabee are or have been politicians, That`s different than being a pundit.

Splitting hairs maybe, but Stewart and his writers have no qualms about splitting hairs to make a joke, almost on a nightly basis.

... which clearly proves that Karzai is corrupt and useless.

Who would argue to pull the troops back, when people are called "short of memory", and the exit WILL result in terrorist attacks and more troops being killed?

It so much brain washing going on.

Is anyone in their right mind really watching / beleiving that poo????

I just visited foxnews.com to get a perspective of what Fox News is really about.

That is truely scary stuff!

The "news" they present are clearly heavily edited to fit their picture, the people interviewed are clearly picked to match their side of every story, and worst of all: The audience is being deliberately told (brain washed) what to think.

On the topic of whether USA should leave Afghanistan, O`Reilly has the following comments:
(Ralph Peters:) "Obama wants to keep a lid on Afghanistan no matter how many soliders are killed *CUT*"
John Hockenberry says the Taliban is not attacking US soil (which is true), where after O`Reilly
O`Reilly explains that Hockenberrys memory is very short, and that if USA leaves Afghanistan the Taliban WILL reenter Afghanistan and WILL start doing terrorist attacks again. What`s to stop them? Well obviously the new Afghan government. But alas, the president Karzai is a "certified morron&q

Sorry, let me re-phrase my comment, the right IS funny, fox news is the biggest and longest running joke around. I`m not a Republican or a Democrat, I`m Australian! but I do have the ability to call a spade a spade!

...and if you`re going discredit St. Petersburg Times for being liberal than I might as well ignore anything from the Media Research Center a proudly conservative group.

Here`s another conservative pundit Jon Stewart booked:
Mike Huckabee.

First and foremost: yes Jon Stewart IS a comedian.

Secondly he uses his wit to criticize corporate news outlets EVERY time they spew the BS they do on a daily basis.

Thirdly apparently Jon Stewart`s producer is having memory problems because they have booked conservative politicians/pundits before i.e. Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich, Laura Bush. Then again she just has a beef with Steven Crowder in particular.

[quote">and then when he`s caught lying retreats to "But it`s just comedy" excuse[/quote">

When has that ever happened?

[quote">"we never book conservative pundits." [/quote">

You later proved yourself wrong by then writing:

[quote">The only reason O`Reilly was ever invited is because Stewart made a deal with O`Reilly to go on his show as well.[/quote">

Lastly, in response to 5Cats comment the same group has more dirt on Fox News.

xiquiripat: When an organization like worldpublicopinion.org, tries to cloak itself in legitimacy while at the same time not revealing who founded and funds it, That is telling.

Everyone knows Murdoch owns Fox news, Most people do not know the extent of Soros` tendrils into many web based organizations.

Stewart plays his game of bouncing back and forth between wanting to be seen as legit and claiming to be a comedian. Nothing is funny about someone that makes claims based on false info, and then when he`s caught lying retreats to "But it`s just comedy" excuse, It`s two-faced.

If Fox really is fair and balanced why do they put so much effort into telling people they are? If they were truly fair and balanced their reputation would speak for itself.

@Crakrjak: I`ll repeat what I said to you last night.

Crackrjak: Just because information comes from somebody who has an interest in it doesn`t automatically invalidate the data. So it`s funded by Soros. So what? To disprove it you have to do a little bit more than that like pointing out a methodological flaw in the study itself. Using your logic it would be akin to saying that whatever Fox says is false...because it comes from Fox which is a stupid argument. You know who else owns a lot of media outlets? Rupert Murdoch.

And again. Jon Stewart is not the one with the "fair and balanced" tagline. The difference between Stewart and Fox is that Stewart makes jokes about news and Fox turns news into a joke.

Tekinette: Also the poll you are referencing was conducted by worldpublicopinion.org, which is a George Soros front group.

Soros is a liberal that owns over 30 media groups and consistently manipulates polls and studies for the left.

Quit drinking the kool-aid and do a little research, you`ll find that Soros funds a lot of smear campaigns and misleading polls against conservatives.

Tekinette: The only reason O`Reilly was ever invited is because Stewart made a deal with O`Reilly to go on his show as well.

His producer spilled the beans, She blacklists conservatives. Just because Jon can make funny faces doesn`t counter the bias he knows to exist in his own damn show.

@CrakrJak Doesn`t make much sense since they did invite conservative pundits, even O`Reilly lol but most of the time they invite people that wrote books about interesting subjects.. Anyways it`s a comedy show, sadly it does give more news than some real news shows but still, it`s goofy.

About those polls, if you`re too lazy to go check:

- 1st poll Fox is 15th on 16

- 2nd poll doesn`t even talk about being misinformed, it just states the level of education.

- 3rd poll Fox is 18th on 23 total

- 4th Fox news was last on all questions about the Iraq war

-5th poll Fox News audience most misinformed

O`reilly did better on one of the polls but still, you get the idea

Wow, 5Cats, they had to split a lot of hairs to come up with Stewart`s statement being false. Pretty much a shame with they have to jump through that many hoops just to disprove an off the cuff, and clearly accurate (when talking about the news segments, as your fact checker admits) statement. But hey, no surprises there.

apedrana: Apparently you didn`t watch the video or even read my post very carefully.

Read Closer - one of his own producers let the cat out of the bag in an e-mail to Stephen Crowder`s manager saying, "Steven is definitely a talented guy," but "we never book conservative pundits."

She, the producer said that Crowder is talented, In other words she would`ve likely booked him for Stewart`s show had he not been conservative.

That`s the essence of blackballing and it`s wrong.

And if you don`t think Crowder is funny then you must be a hellish liberal prude.

@Jammey Well I`m talking about real journalism, sensational news is a different story but just seeing the front page full of random stories that looks more like gossip and strange stories you kinda know what you`re in for... They`re getting kinda desperate to sell newspapers nowadays but there`s still a bunch of really good ones that people know they can count on.

@edana42 Well yeah I never said it was perfect, they make mistakes but it`s rarely on purpose which is quite different than things you will see on a regular basis in the US like lying by omission, the choice of words etc.. clearly trying to influence the audience, it`s not even subtle...

CrakrJak, I still dont think you get it! They book pundits who are FUNNY, as they are on the COMEDY CHANNEL! If the conservatives suddenly became funny, Stewart would be lining up to book them. As yet, the right haven`t learnt how to laugh at them selves, and that`s the sad punch line.

The problem here with Stewart`s narrative is that one of his own producers let the cat out of the bag in an e-mail to Stephen Crowder`s manager saying, "Steven is definitely a talented guy," but "we never book conservative pundits." Link

After-wards Stewart`s producer, who wrote the letter, went ballistic at being publicly exposed as a political blacklister.

Sorry Jon, You damn well know conservatives are blacklisted, Your own damn producer admitted it.

@ShadowVamp. Wrong. Stewart`s point in his Daily Show bit was that Fox edited the interview to hide it`s right-leaning bias. Wallace acknowleged that bias directly to Stewart in the interview. Watch the interview (not 15 seconds) and get back to me. #ComedyFail

James Forlong, Sky News (2003)In April 2003 the Sky News Network carried a report from James Forlong. The report included scenes of included a sequence in which a crew member pressed a large red button marked with the word "FIRE". The report was a fabrication, with the crew acting along for the benefit of the cameras.

@BoredIAm: That`s the whole point. Wallace said Fox News is a balance to show "the other side," but Fox News says that they are balanced and show both sides, rather than being radically skewed in either direction. As Stewart said, their slogan is "fair and balanced." Wallace just admitted that they aren`t.

The US has a hatred for all socialism (which a lot believe is exactly like communism) since the cold war yet they have the best propaganda medias, fox news being the most obvious one.

In Europe you`ll never see a journalist saying his opinion, talk about rumors or present facts without checking it first.. and if they make an error they`ll always apologie about it the following day... It`s far from prefect but when I see or hear some stuff in the US from some "journalist" it`s difficult to understand how they get to keep their job and call themselve journalist.

Ok, please explain to me why is it that every time someone in the media mentions the bias of FOX news or MSNBC, it`s like they let some big cat out of the bag. The bias of FOX and MSNBC has NEVER been a secret, so can we all stop pretending like it has?

Pretty sloppy research here. Did you watch the entire 20 minute interview? (Yes it takes a little bit of an attention span.) 15 minutes into the interview Chris Wallace made the same point about Diane Sawyer and ABC News and how Fox News is a balance to tell "the other side.". This is called redundancy. Stewart is less than honest, presenting 15 seconds of 20 minute interview.
