Anyone remember hotboot.com, drain.com, or rusure.com? (Back in those days, .com was a file extension for an executable program file.)

"razbitom, please stop sounding smart. One line of basic? Do you even know what you are talking about?"

Do YOU even know what you are talking about. It really is a simple line. VB is easy to learn and even easier to manipulate.

Yeah GANGSTA() woulda been a rabbit process, not that the register woulda been able to handle much back then anyway.

"GOSUB GANGSTA()" would probably tie up system resources and crash.

It would be a very short program. In QBASIC (forgive my errors, it`s been 15 years since I took a class on it) it`d be something like:

SUB Gangsta()

Input "C:\>", $ANSWER

IF $ANSWER = "QUIT" THEN
END
ELSE
GOSUB GANGSTA()
END IF

I took computer programing in high school on a Comadore 64. Yes, this was a good joke.

Did he say he "zapped" several people with this? Reminds me of the Chappelle Show sketch "Zapped".

Tubby12370: A few of those fake BSOD programs do exist, btw.

Probably would`ve been funnier if it was a fake BSOD (Blue screen of death).

I`m so embarrassed that I understand this. Better yet +1000 nerd points if you know how to make an autoexec.bat on the fly.

I did a few things like this on the school computers. Took the lab teacher all day before he thought about the autoexec, 5 lines a batch commands had him going crazy XD. Also did some wicked stuff with basic and turbopascal, but the simple things seemed more funny.

I for one miss the DOS days :(
