A church for the new generation! On this blessed Sunday, I-A-B, if this church was made available to you, would you go?

""We wanted to go to a place where there was the most amount of need," Jung said, pointing to a large number of homeless and nonbelievers in the area."

"The group`s 1-1/2-hour service features an indie rock band that plays its own religious songs. Instead of using Bibles in book form, congregants use a Bible app on iPhones, Jung said."

Homeless with iPhones you say?

I was totally a fan of Hipster Church when it had 3 followers. But now that it`s in the 30`s, Its just lost that something that made it so fresh.

Hahaha! No. Of course not.

Good point! Then again atheism is also becoming mainstream. So if you`re a hipster, what do you choose? Extremism probably... not many follow that.

I wouldn`t go if they Miss Meyli offered free knickerless lap dances with lotion. Well, maybe I would, but I wouldn`t enjoy it. Well, maybe I would, but I would feel guilty. No I wouldn`t. OK, I`m cool with it, but the gal is a critical part of the deal.

Nope, fortunately I`m brave enough to question things and realize how dumb these people are.

Besides, I like my A** hole nice and tight.

church is church, no matter how much `fun` the minister tries to bring in.

"Hey. This is our god. But you`ve probably never heard of him."

"Our savior didn`t resurrect. He`s still underground."

"Let me tell you something about Jesus. I knew Jesus when he was still with `Joseph and the Carpenters`."

So long as the doctrine is solid there`s nothing wrong here. The original church (btw "church" is a collection of believers- not a building. Fun fact) did not convene in the way that we do today. Proper teaching and guidance is what is most important and we don`t turn anyone away(no not even hipsters).

Go? Nah, I read "hipster" in the headline, and skipped the entire article. I really, don`t care about hipsters... as long as they stay outside my striking distance, but that`s another story.

To borrow from another thread, in one word: No

"It`s not the religion I have a problem with, it`s the a--holes that practice the religions and take it too far."

Don`t forget their hypocrisy, NitroJunkie. That`s what drove me away. A group of people that were only "Christian" on Sunday mornings. Even then, just barely. I have since met several Christians that actually try to live their lives in a "Christ-like" manner. Too bad they`re in the extreme minority.

Attending a church goes against being an atheist entirely...
It`s not the religion I have a problem with, it`s the a--holes that practice the religions and take it too far.

Isn`t the catch-22 of Hipsterdome that you`re NEVER to admit to being a hipster?
