Anyone else note the high number of teens and young adults causing all the damage? I guess because they have no respect for anything once so ever, why should they, no one taught them too. Douches.

FFS, It`s LITTLE women against men sometimes twice their size. How could none of the other guys step in save a few women in distress. Their loss too, they would got some serious hero action later on.

It`s almost like they felt left out since the rest of the world seems to do this from time to time. I heard it happens more often in Montreal, but that doesn`t surprise me any.

@Sway
Chara`s hit on Pacioretty was in the regular season, not the playoffs. The stanchions around the bench area have always been a trouble spot. That was a nasty hit, and I could see both sides of the argument whether it was intentional. There`s absolutely no grey area with Rome`s hit. He obviously targeted Horton`s head with his shoulder. As far as repeating yourself, I feel the same way. Who started the crap first? Hockey has always been a self policing sport. If you start playing dirty, don`t act amazed when the other team retaliates. Burrows and Hansen played like punks. I`d be ashamed of my team if they had players like that. I`m not about to claim the Bruins are innocent angels, but they don`t play like those douches.

I really think you`re missing the point of much of what I`m saying. I`ve condemned and blasted rioters-not defended.

I have to repeat myself a lot around you, so I`ll go over THIS too.
It`s not about who started it. Rome`s hit on Horton was questionable. It was a late, all of a second but Horton had his head down and was in an awkward position so he didn`t fall properly. Ok, we change the rules, broaden the wording so we can catch MORE offenders and make a firmer stand against head shots.

Why wasn`t this done when Chara drove Pacioretty`s head into a pole in the first series? It was another `technically` clean hit, but Chara drove him into it by the shoulder. Then Raymond gets tripped up over someone`s stick between his legs and get`s driven back into the boards with full contact in the head. all I`m saying is if you`re going to call it- at least call it on both sides.

Just a little note to the people angry with the term "true fans" we keep throwing about.

Yes- you see lots of rioters wearing Canucks gear, sure I suppose they probably like to think they are fans but they disgrace us, acting as they are.

When I say they`re not TRUE fans I mean that True Fans tried to stop them- Caring Canucks fans were proud of their team for coming in 2nd- We were the ones hugging strangers on the street and reassuring each other that next year we could do it! They were the ones that partied downtown for the last few months win or lose. We showed up the next morning to clean the streets, we condemned and identified them. That`s why the term `true fan` is used so much- We love the Canucks, not them..clearly.

I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT NOT ALL CANADIANS DO THAT SORT OF THING. These people were young punks looking to start some trouble and not true Canucks fans. I am ashamed of what these young punks did cause now it gives a bad name to all Vancouver fans and Canadians alike.

Quick question to those that live in Vancouver or were there; is there actually any progress being made arresting those responsible?

The news today says that they`ve actually made about 100 arrests. The facebook page has been working directly with the police and they`ve actually had a lot of great success. I meant it when I said there was public outcry- people have screen capped status updates and matched them with pictures of people committing the acts.
Apparently a few dozen people have actually turned THEMSELVES in, knowing it would only be a matter of time before they were caught. Check it out =)

You`re an idiot. I said that we have a high Asian and Indian population so you can go into Chinatown or Little India and buy a jersey for 20 bucks. I didn`t say they were specifically the ones that rioted- although there were plenty of all races causing the issues. Besides, as you just proved, Stupidity is color-blind. Try to read a little.

How much footage have you actually watched of all this? I have posted so many links of fans standing up to the rioters, protecting stores, protecting cars and protecting the police but of course not a damn one has been posted. It`s still disgusting behavior, either way.

I have never understood why some sports fans after their team wins or loses in a championship decides to riot? It does not do anybody any good it puts your city and some of your people into a bad light not just the rioters because some will make generalizations about your entire city or country for that matter. Then of course the tax payers have to make up for it.

In terms of those two girls I feel for them. They should not have to defend their car. It is annoying that people are laughing and joining in others are doing nothing. What about some basic human empathy?

Of course its easy for me to say that on the sidelines. If was there in person would I have helped them out if I saw this happening? Would like to think so but will never know until I am in the situation.

@xCYBERDYNEx Because the internet never distorts the truth right? Just because videos of the rioters have gone viral doesn`t mean that most of the people there went with the intention of rioting. $20 bootleg hockey sweaters are EASY to come by in Canada. Plus let`s do some math, in a crowd of thousands and a metropolitan population of over 2 million people, a few hundred anarchists does qualify as "just a few". Just because you keep seeing videos of rioters doesn`t mean there aren`t videos of upstanding people defending things.

http://tinyurl.com/68mhxzn

The city closed streets off so people could come watch the game as one big city. This isn`t people who ran from their homes into the streets. The sad fact is many of these people went with the intention of causing mayhem. These people are still the vast minority. Yes it makes many of the people in our country look terrible, but the

I don`t think everyone has posed and dressed up as a Canucks fan, but many of the anarchist groups did in order to blend in with the crowd.

That being said, welcome to a City with a huge Asian and Indian population. You can get a fake Canucks jersey for a $20. It`s not thousands of people rioting, it`s a few hundred amongst a hundred thousand people that went down to actually watch and enjoy the game. The most shameful thing about those standing by is the fact that unlike some of the real fans down there, my friends included, most people did nothing and simply took pictures. There are you tube videos of my friends standing in FRONT of the police, trying to stop drunk idiots from throwing poo at them. I`ve sent in 3 or 4 of these links, but none of them have made them onto the site. (go figure, we`ll see.)

You outplayed us- but don`t pretend that Boston is holier than thou. Your team broke two backs to get where they were. You stick your glove in someone`s mouth? Yeah, you got nipped. Lapierre offered you a bite? Two Bruins did it the very next game. I`m not against calling us out on our indiscretions but I AM avidly against the double standard. When we do it, it`s `dirty` and when you do it it`s `Good hard hockey`.

These are not our fans- We are proud that the boys managed to get this far. Anyone else getting seriously f-ucked off with some of the Canadian responses on here? You can sit all high and mighty judging the rest of the world, whether it be something as simple as a pic of an overweight American eating a cheeseburger or a footballer diving during a game, or even football riots or basketball riots. But when it happens in your own country all you can say is "just a few" "they`re not hockey fans". Well guess what Canada, it was thousands and I have yet to see a single video that didn`t contain several people wearing hockey jerseys. Now it may be right that only a small amount of people planned this, but thousands more were more than willing participants once it started. A "small group of people" couldn`t do this damage. Man up and stop being hypocrits.

I really want to believe that, I really do. It would reaffirm my faith in humanity to blame it all on anarchists. But sh*t, there were an awful lot of blue-and-green Canucks jerseys in that video, bear-baiting.

Maybe disparate anarchists and arsonists have $120 bucks to spare on Canucks tops just to blend in with the crowd, to surreptitiously hide their insurgent agendas. Or maybe a lot of hockey fans were just acting like dickheads and joining in.

I`ll repost my facebook status of that night: "Seriously Canada? Riots, tear gas and burning cars over losing a drating ice-hockey game? I`d like to retract my application form for Canadian citizenship, please."

I can`t speak for everyone, but I don`t hate Americans anymore than I hate Canadians. When I watch a video of rednecks doing something stupid and say "oh, those stupid Americans", I`m referring specifically to the ones in the video, not every person in the country.

You also have to keep in mind that the sorts of people who make broad sweeping generalizations such as "all Americans are stupid" are likely not the kind of people who are upset about the Vancouver riots. Assuming that internet trolls are representative of any culture or nationality is just as silly as assuming that rednecks are representative of Americans or that rioters are representative of Canada.

The rioters, much like internet trolls are people who for some reason are unhappy or angry and will take the opportunity to lash out at whoever will listen.

But honestly speaking, who here really thought that ALL Canadians were like this after witnessing the chaos? And yet when the same thing happens in the US, everyone insists that "This is just another reason why ALL American suck, blah blah blah." I can see why you think people in the US are bigoted, but it`s just as stupid if you think no one has the right to think your precious selves are jerks based on this video.

Damn. Get the f-ck over yourselves and learn to take it if you`re constantly going to berate Americans. (As well as other people from other nations. In this case I`m using the Americans as an example since a lot of the hate is directed towards them, but this goes for any other group of people.)

I`m f***ing tired of riots, especially these stupid sports riots! All that ever comes of them is drunk idiots running around starting fires and breaking stuff. I mean seriously, calm the f*** down and stop breaking EVERYTHING! >-(

"Please note that not all Canadians are vile Vancouverians."

Take your frustration that as a Canadian you`re being grouped in with a city that rioted.

Now amplify that frustration by 100 and imagine our feelings with being lumped together with a few hundred anarchists and people that don`t even live in Vancouver destroying our beautiful city. We`ve worked hard to erase their embarrassment off our streets- now you need to help us wipe this from our country.

The reason the riot bothered me is an odd one... why riot after an AWESOME drating series? I mean... if you get swept in four games thats one thing, but taking it to the wire in a seven game clutch series? Thats solid friggen gold. I don`t CARE if the team I loved loses in that situation... or well, I care but not enough to riot. Sport is about competition and that was a GREAT one.

Canada: learn something here... riot if you get swept, otherwise let it the drat go, eh.

Ugh. Cars are expensive investments. To treat something that someone else sunk so much money into so badly is shameful.

"Why do they care? Jealousy."

Did America complain about communist Russia out of jealousy?

Let me make something really clear here. Jordan in 2000, had 50% of the population thinking America was a force for good in the world. After the Iraq war it was 1%.

The UK went from the 80s for that question to the 20s. In 3 years. this happened worldwide.

Jealousy explains none of this.

Take me. I know a lot of people on this site get irritated by me? I talk too much, I`m self righteous , a know-it-all and <insert rude words here>, but at least I take that as "maybe I should look into that" and not "they hate me for my awesomeness".

Seriously, even I`m not that self-absorbed.

"There are websites and facebook groups dedicated to finding the people that did this. People are being tagged and identified and publicly shamed. This is NOT how we act in Canada, Arrests have been made following identifications on FB!"

another good reason for not having a facebook account.
It makes me feel smarter everyday knowing that I didn`t let my privacy jump over the bridge with the rest of you 500+ million people.

"she has a BMW so she is either rich enough to buy another one, or she has spent her lifes savings on that car so shes screwed.

Either way people, if your going to be a douche and destroy girls car, just make sure it has blue and red lights on top it, with Police written on the sides."

I don`t care that it`s a BMW, it is just wrong to destroy a vehicle...

...unless it`s a police vehicle. Preferably with the police stuck inside.

Sure, the riots in Vancouver make the headlines around the world after the Canucks loss... But the clean-up done by citizens who care for the city isn`t noted. I live in Vancouver, and the riot (if anything) has brought the people here closer together.
The people who trashed the city aren`t real hockey fans. They`re the type of people that tune in on the finals because they realize the team is doing well. 90% of Vancouver is ashamed of the way the hooligans acted.

"People make fun of America`s redneck population... Maybe not by population, but by percent, I`d say Canada probably has more. What dicks."

People only make fun of America because of jealousy. We`re no different, our country is just more successful. It`s fine with me though, I love hearing all the trash talk because they only say it because they care enough to bother. Why do they care? Jealousy.

I really wish people would actually pay attention to the news reports instead of just going off you tube like videos.

These are not the true fans that went downtown to watch the game! Many of these people have been identified as the same people that tried to cause a riot during the Winter Olympics. They came dressed in Canucks gear to blend in and brought gas cans, pepper spray and supplies for Molotovs. These people would have tried to riot regardless of what happened. So many true hockey fans tried to stop them- the true fans showed up in the thousands the next morning to clean up and board windows.
