I`ve read Haunted, Survivor, and invisible monsters, but haven`t read fight club yet. Palahniuk is definitely one of the greatest, and under achieved writers of the world.

You all know that that quote was said by an insomniac schizophrenic to himself, while he`s orchestrating a terror cell, right? Pahlaniauk`s a great writer, but it`s essentially nihilistic beach fare.

I strongly encourage everyone to read the book, it`s just as good as the movie. Actually any time you like a movie look up what book it was based on (you`d be surprised how often movies are actually adaptations of books) and read the book too. IMO 9/10 the book is better.

Chuck Palahniuk is my favorite author. If you have seen the movie Fight Club, read the book. This man is a genius with story telling. One of my favorite books that he wrote is called Survivor, it`s mind blowing.

"I saw this movie when I was 12 and it kicks all kinds of arse. I need to read the book."
    A Jammacan =

I think this is one of the very few if not only times in life youll hear this, but

The movie was better than the book.

Any association between the two is very loose. I actually found the movie to be much more deep and meaningful. It has a lot of hidden and important messages and to me at least, the fighting is secondary to the message of the movie. Fantastic movie. Interesting book, worth a read, but not that great.

I agree. The movie is better than the book. There are just things they could do. Like splicing a single frame of tyler in the background of a shot. This was so new at the time, that my friends were all like "what was that? Go back" and of course, the flashing between scenes and flashbacks and a little bit of imagination. Sounds strange, but chuck writes things that cant be shown in movies, so the movie hints at these things, and makes it a little more open to interpretation. Plus, at the end of the book, spoiler alert, the day is saved by a technical difficulty... Biggest anticlimax deus ex ever. Maybe not deus ex, it didnt solve everything, but it solved a pretty big one.

If you loved the fight club movie, read choke, instead of fight club. It`s a much better book than the choke movie, may you be so lucky as to never see that movie... And it is better than fight club book.

I actually liked the book better than the movie. Mostly because I thought the ending was really really cool. He`s ends up in a mental hospital, thinking he`s dead and his therapist is God. I thought that was super clever.
