I want to kill people that pull their phones out during a movie. The bright light distracts people! Doesn`t matter if you`re just texting!

The story behind the voicemail is that she was warned two times before they kicked her out. And yes the theaters can be dark sometimes, like any theater, and using the phone to see isn`t bad. but its the texting that got her kicked out. Ive given out tons of rain checks for other movies at alamo for different reasons (other disruptive people) but not rude customers.

First of all, its common f*cking courtesy to turn off your phone. Movie theaters are not that dark. Open your eyes. Second, why are you paying money to see a movie just so you can text the whole time? Moron.

The Alamo Drafthouse is a great theater. It`s the kind of theater where you can enjoy good, real food along with beer/wine. They also have a no children policy too, which is nice for people who don`t want to HAVE THEIR MOVIE INTERRUPTED.

And ZiggZagg - have you ever been in a dark theater when someone decides to use their phone for whatever reason? All of a sudden that little phone turns into a goddamn search and rescue beacon that is impossible to ignore. So I highly doubt that she didn`t disturb anyone.

Just because you paid to go or be somewhere, doesn`t give you the right to be a jackass.

Isn`t there a message to turn off your damn phone before the movie in the major theaters? There is in Canada anyways, so there`s no excuse not to know here. Somehow I doubt she got kicked out for using it like a flash light.

Well, if it wasn`t specified on any signs that you can`t actually TAKE OUT YOUR PHONE INSIDE, it`s not really her fault. And, come on, she was using her phone as a flashlight... Didn`t disturb anyone... what`s the big deal?

Damn, I must have submitted this just a bit too late. Oh well, glad everyone is enjoying it since it`s under someone else`s name - my continuing cellphone ethics crusade hasn`t gone over so well.

Lol, I live in Houston and this is totally how Austinites are. Freaking entitled pricks. Everyone`s so pretentious there. Anyway, she was in Texas, so she`s lucky they didn`t blow her away with a shot gun rather than just escort her bratty ass out of the theater. You know, because we all have guns here. And are total hicks. Right?

xCYBERDYNEx, I have never been to Texas either and you don`t ever have to worry about seeing this non-nice individual in your `whole other country`. You do know that Texas is on the news, in movies, in print and to most people in the world, it is not a desirable place to visit. The stereotypes are there for a reason.

using a phone as a flashlight to get to your seat, okay thats fine, texing constantly in the middle of a movie, not okay. she payed to see the movie so its completely understandable to not give her the money back.

I go to the cinema when I know the f*cking teenagers are in school or not on "date night". Calling someone out for texting/talking on the phone during a movie is something I have done (& will continue to do) but it makes me bitchy & who wants that? Well, actually, my husband loves the angry sex later, though, so there`s the silver lining.

I have to be honest, if I were a detective and this was evidence, I`d have to shoot this girl.

I hate people who text in the theater during the movie, once in a while if is IMPERATIVE That I text I will put the phone down low in my lap and block out as much light as I can with my body so nobody can see the light but me.

I hate all these teenage girls leaned back in their seats with the phones up in their faces annoying the hell out of me.

They should reserve the back row for anyone who wants to text.

I like how she undercuts her own story about using the cell phone as a flashlight: "I`ve texted in other theaters and nobody ever gave a drat."

So, which was it? Using the phone as a flashlight, or texting? Cause those are two very different things. If she was thrown out for texting, then OK. If she hadn`t even made it to her seat yet, then the theater people were just being douchebags.

Also, what kind of name is Alamo Drafthouse? Thought someone got thrown out of a bar for texting before I started the video up.

If Alamo Drafthouse open up around here, I might start going to the cinema again.

I haven`t been for a while because it`s full of annoying gits who aren`t really watching the film themselves and make it less enjoyable for other people. That makes it not worth the money. I`ll just rent the film later and watch it in comfort without anyone bothering me.

@greenbasterd

Because your bloody screen light annoys the drat out of everyone in the entire theater behind you. Stupid twats that pull out their phones during a movie need to be beaten with a hunk of rusty re-bar instead of just kicked out, then maybe the selfish little pricks would actually learn a lesson.

I wish there was a theatre like this in memphis. I cant go to any theatre. I tried the big fancy theatre, it was all teenagers, all on their phones, and all of them kicking my seat. Then i went to the hood theatre, cause no one ever goes there, or so i thought. Then i got arrested for gaybashing at the hipster theatre. He threw the first punch. Drunk non-nice individuals at the hipster theatre. I say, hello, would you mind quieting down? And so he waits for me to turn around to say "what the drat did you just say to me? So im all like "im just trying to watch the movie, and youre being loud. - appareantly, loud is a gay slur? Something about "loud" shirts? Loud is flamboyant? Okay. So he punched me and called the police. Guess all the police saw was an effeminite man crying and bleeding in the parking lot. Shouldnt have chased him.

Some bitch was texting during cirque du soleil and I threw popcorn in her hair.

Honestly? I always keep my cell phone on, in my bag on silent and have had to reply to something important-and expected message so I leaned DOWN onto the floor to text INSIDE my bag to text something important to avoid bothering anyone. Don`t sit there, waving your phone around with a bright light being a ho. Not cool.

If I lived in Austin would would go only to this theater. Nothing is more annoying when some jackwagon is texting or talking on their phone or checking the time and distracting me from enjoying the movie I also paid good money to see.

I work at a theater, there are signs in the lobby and a preview telling you to turn off and stay off your phones -_- Also it IS dark in the theater. Therefore the light from your cell phone becomes a big distractions to others so I`m sure the other movie goers did indeed mind. She was clearly just upset over being a blatant idiot and treated as such.

God I love the Alamo. They are the best and the closest thing to true Austin as there is. This is exactly the sort of thing that makes them awesome.

If you don`t live in Austin, and come for a visit, check it out!!!
