Literally none of that happens for me, I didn`t know there were ads, never seen one. haha, living in the US with a fast internet connection and a none sh***y browser does wonders for youtube viewing I guess.

I don`t use YouTube anymore. I`m tired of being told that I live in the wrong country.
And don`t tell me about proxies - YouTube blocks them as soon as they are up.

AdBlocker. Didn`t even know Youtube had advertisement in their videos until I saw it on my friends POS laptop.

you gotta love the ads that play before you watch a movie preview. the movie preview is an ad itself, but to watch that ad you have to watch another ad before it.

" the internet was designed for the free exchange of information for normal users like you and me"

You drating idiot. It still works that way. You can easily go onto the internet and directly send any file that you own to any other person.

Services however, cost money. That is very common. If you are surprised by the fact that you need to pay for a service that costs money to provide, then you should take a knife and run into it.

Personally, I don`t mind dealing with ads if it is for a service that is otherwise free. Especially since I can open up multiple tabs and do whatever I want while the ad is on mute.

@ShadowDD13: Whether the original intent was free exchange of information or not, it costs money to run a website. You can`t fault a person/company for trying to run a service without going bankrupt. The real issue is in what ads do to the market. By charging companies for ad space, rather than charging the consumer for using the service, the companies are shelling out money that they need to recoup elsewhere, meaning that ubiquitous ads increase prices. So maybe you get to use Youtube for free, but that computer you buy to watch Youtube with is going to be slightly more expensive. It`s not necessarily a bad model, but one that people should be aware of.

What a whinny little cry baby. Oh it doesn`t let me watch all videos ever instatntly for absolutely free. They expect me to look at ads to help pay for this service I am using!?!? How dare they want to make a buck!?!

Get over it.

Only annoying thing is that "This video contains material from <insert reason for piracy> and is not available in your country".
Everything else about youtube is fine for me, high resolution rocks.

Yep. 8-)
That and a sock account you automatically sign into to watch flagged videos and comment.

We don`t get unlimited internet, so 720 and 1080p videos are out.

I love it when the website says "will return after this ad" and goes straight to the next page. Good old adblockplus

I just login with gmail and watch everything I want, in 1080p no less, but that`s because I live in Belgium. How come the country who started it has to suffer?

Adblock is like a big giant cow shover on my internets.
When you plow through them you get to see the chunky bits of the ad go flying over your head.
So satisfying.

On the upside, videos are much higher quality now (720p 1080p)

4,5,6 - only happen when you need to register, which most people will have already done, so take those out.
7 - is what the back button is for
8 & 10 - what are these ads you see?
11 - is habit for me. Annotations, and anything else selected is turned off automatically now.
9 & 12 - I just play/pause at the start and download it all first. Habit again >.<

Thus said, It`s getting damn annoying with their videos. "Missing" ones, "removed" ones, "only available in some obscure town in the middle of nowhere" ones, "only viewable on the site itself" ones, "log in 6 times to view a kiddie saying something to f@@k because it`s flagged" ones.

I miss my good old YouTube days, even with the assimilation to the new YouTube.

They forgot one thing.

To make the video full screen, and then Hi-Def, which means it has to buffer again, and then make it full screen AGAIN!!!

Also: User captions need to be completely removed, except for links to the next part of whatever it may be you`re watching AT THE END OF THE VIDEO. I don`t want to rewind your stupid video to find the link for the next part.

All videos should automatically start loading in the highest possible resolution...WTF YOUTUBE!!!

I don`t use adblock for youtube, most of the videos i watch are subscription videos and the ads give them a bit of revenue to keep making videos.

Buffering and flagged videos have always been around. You don`t have to connect to a Google account and you can get an ad blocker.

What bugs me is the content and comments... it`s happening here too.

YouTube hardly works on my PC, it says it instantaneously buffers, with the red line going all the way through, but I get the little circle loading screen for a really dang long time.

Oddly, what annoys me the most is Google`s disinformation policy, stating that you need to link your Youtube account to a Google account for added security. That`s obviously untrue - linked accounts are less secure than seperate accounts. It`s all about data gathering, which is Google`s core purpose. If they were honest about it, I wouldn`t find it so annoying.

Ugh yes. I almost had an aneurysm when it made me switch to a drating google email (which I had to CREATE JUST SO I COULD WATCH KITTENS EAT WATERMELON) after using a hotmail one for YEARS. And why was that necessary? I don`t know, because Google is going to take over the world and I`m going to be powerless to do anything about it. Resistance is futile.
