really?
Yes, really.
because on your little tag line it says Europe.
There are many things wrong with IAB`s shoddy software. That`s one of them.
And as for disgusting traditions, well we have seen the pickey or chav weddings where the small kids are dressed like tiny strippers.
Which is not a tradition. It`s recent enough to be a cultural import from the USA.
but the one fact still remains through out your history as well as ours, your just as f*cked up as the rest of us.
But not necessarily in quite the same ways. You can be as angry as you like, but it won`t change history.

Your name/location on the side says you`re form Europe.

I may just be an ignorant, bungling American {I`m not, I`m british living in America} But at least I know my current location.

Sober up, Euro-trash and stop putting on heirs... excusme "airs".

@garu
are you from the south? that is just wrong the girl is 8 years old.
and either way botox is a poison. the amount that it would require to make a differance would be more then enough to kill her. that is if the first injection doesnt soak into her heart and lung muscles and kill her outright.

Male 562
That`s just nuts, those injections would be of much more use in her chest. Moms, always focusing on the wrong thing. LOL, right guys. Guys?

MrPeabody:

The May Queen idea from John Ruskin was at Whitelands College. It`s higher education - there weren`t any children there. The "young girls" in question were women.

Whitelands College

The Huffington post, writing 130 years later, thousands of miles away and obviously without adequate fact-checking, is wrong.

Also, the idea of the May Queen hugely predates Ruskin. May Day in Britain, especially in England, is a mix of Gaelic, Germanic and Roman festivals regarding fertility and celebration. The May Queen was always a young woman.
And what do you call the Little Miss British Isles pageant?
An import from the USA. It started in 2006 and is based on USA child beauty pageants.
botox is for relaxing facial muscles and smoothing wrinkles. what 8 year old has wrinkles? seriously!
Botox paralyses facial muscles. Use a tiny amount and the partial paralysis might look like relaxing muscles, but it`s not. Use a little more and the face looks fake, like a doll. I expect that`s the effect she`s looking for.

I`m not European, poohead.

I can sink to your level, but even then I`m more literate than you. Find your local college and sign up for remedial English lessons. Commas are not just for decoration.

Or is grammar just a European custom?

There may be grotesque customs in Europe. I don`t know - I don`t live there and it rarely gets much attention in the media here.

There may even still be grotesque customs in England. But in what way would that be relevant?

What is it with some parents that they have to try to live vicariously through their children? You had your chance, and failed. Let your kids choose their own path.

"i don`t believe there are any negative long term effects to botox"

Children react differantly to things than adults.
aspirin is safe but teenagers should not take it as it can lead to Reye`s Syndrome which can be fatal if not diagnosed timely.

6 year old & botox don`t mix.

Always wondered who the people who judge those child beauty pageants are. I mean, the only way you can judge how attractive a child looks is if you find some children attractive looking. Theres a word for people like that.

Not only what Gerry said, but modern child beauty pageants can be traced right back to Europe:
A British art critic and historian named John Ruskin got the idea to hold a springtime festival for young girls, honoring their girlish innocence (Ruskin was actually rumored to be a pedophile...). Ruskin called his events May Queen festivals, since one girl would be selected queen, the "likeablest and loveablest" of all the maidens. The first of these festivals was held in England in 1881 and they quickly spread to North America, where they found a strong reception in the United States.
Dumb dumb MOTY contender. Even worse than massive Alien-Egg-Sack boobie lady.

This is child abuse. Not only because the procedure is painful, but because this will have serious negative consequences for this child`s self-esteem. Seriously, Child Protective Services needs to seriously intervene in the child beauty pageant scene. I`m not saying they should shut it down, but they do need to make it clear that doing sh*t like this is abuse, and will cause you to lose your child if it continues.

And what do you call the Little Miss British Isles pageant? Children in diapers all the way up to the ripe old age of 14 competing. 10 year olds in padded bras. 6 year olds with capped teeth and false eye lashes.

European snobery at it`s finest.

Is this child abuse? Is botox reversible? WTF?

People with botox are more likely to become clinically depressed because the part of the brain dealing with expressing emotion has feedback circuits hooked up to the muscles in the face. When these nerves are deadened by the botox the brain doesn`t sense the smile that should be there and decides not to be happy. Thus the phrase "smiling eyes" The difference between smiling and grimacing in pain is the eyes.

I didn`t miss this. Mother claims the kid is worried about wrinkles because she`s in kiddie beauty pagents.

She also shaves the kids legs and waxes the eyebrows. I`m guessing there will be a boob job by age 10.

the kid obviously needed it. she aint gonna catch no man with those wrinkles.
i don`t believe there are any negative long term effects to botox, so im not sure why everyone is so outraged? not really any different they dying the girls hair.
so if it isn`t being done to your daughter, stfu about it and let others live their own lives.

I`ve seen a couple of pictures from the grotesque USA custom of child beauty pageants and they looked inanimate, like dolls. Paralysing her face would help with that, obviously, but I think this is a custom that should be consigned to history.
