Why are they still using a home video camera from 1992 in 2008?

I think I remember this. It was a heat, not the final. She showed heart but that would never happen against real competition.

I read the caption, I knew the outcome, but I was still pumping my fists and shouting at the computer for her to run, run, run, and I cheered at the end.

Did this make anyone else think of Pre? I saw the title and saw it was a running event and immediately thought of him.

"why didn`t she just start out running that fast?"

Try sprinting at top speed for 90 seconds. Medium distance races are as much about conserving energy as they are speed.

it has a lot to do with the other contenders turning it down a notch after seeing their largest competitor take the fall. they thought they had it in the bag, but because they underestimated heather they let her catch up and win. it happens in basketball and football all the time. one team thinks they have the game won and they lose in the last quarter because they turn down their energy while the underdogs are kicking theirs up.

Wait...that was the Big Ten championships and the other girls couldn`t beat her even with a four second advantage because of the fall? The Big Ten indoor women`s track competition must be pretty weak.

People who use a race as an analogy for life in general really worry me.

Life isn`t a constant competition unless you make it one. Life is something that should be enjoyed by everyone equally, not only by those who are the best as these types of analogies insinuate.

And if you don`t agree with me, GO fudge YOURSELF!

Just kidding...

...but seriously, go fudge yourself.

The fall cost her 4 seconds. I`m not that impressed that she would have won the race by 4 seconds.
