    Here`s my ultimatum:

Ban it outright or treat all unions between two people as the same.

I`m sure there are some democrats who appose same sex marriage. The fact is you can`t polarize people like the way the stupid media or some popular culture does.

So in the end this means nothing. Being against same sex marriage is foolish universally.

@jtrebowski: Because conservatives usually reflect the sentiments of the common man, and the common man doesn`t like the gays.

I say, let `em marry. God will choose what to do with them.

@Auburnjunkie: I have to agree with you....there`s nothing as common as a conservative. Meanwhile, everyone should check out this girls Youtube channel...there`s somme awesome videos of her getting caught in a hailstorm while skydiving. How cool is that?

wow well spoken and presented. I completely agree with her. It becomes a slippery slope when you choose to add segregation into the constitution.

I canvassed door-to-door for a gay rights organization a number of years back, and I was pretty surprised at how many people I talked to self-identified as both fundamentalist Christian (one woman actually called herself a Bible thumper) and pro gay marriage. They all said that they did believe that homosexuality is a sin, but they also believed in the first amendment, and did not think it was right for the government`s definition of marriage to be based on their own religion`s definition of marriage. Most of these people also said that they were happy to talk with me about the issue, since they`d get shouted down whenever they spoke up amongst friends and family.

We have 1) a budget to fix 2) an economy to fix 3) an environment that still needs more protection 4)comprehensive immigration reform that needs to be done 5) an impending energy crisis that still needs to be addressed 6) degrading infrastructure 7) social security that is running out 8) a healthcare plan that still needs reform because I don`t think any one is really pleased with it 9) and an amalgam of other more important issues than gay marriage. Can we please prioritize and stop wasting our law makers time on this issue?

    They have married gay people.
