WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOME OF YOU PEOPLE!? i just DO NOT UNDERSTAND the OBSESSION right wing America has with homosexuality. I am gay, and I do not CARE where everyone else is sticking it, be they gay or straight. Children will be gay or straight regardless of religion, upbringing or whatever else. It happens. Always has. Always will. Sex is NOT a moral issue America. You have some of the most violent TV and movies in the world, yet you go insane when two people express affection for eachother... think about that. Does it make sense? No.

I rarely use the internet to vent but this is more social BULLSH*T bait used to keep you, me and the rest of the world busy screaming our lungs out at each other while really important issues, like corruption and domestic tax policy, continue to f*ck us over.

@mandingo3519: As a concerned parent you should know what your kids watch. I your frightened your kids might turn weird after watching two males kiss for 2 seconds, don`t let them watch TV, or choose a channel that has clearly outlined what it will show. If there is none, bad for you, choose a different medium to get your children entertained. Either way, it`s not my problem.

SUCK IT UP! TV was sh*t back in the day. And it`s a luxury. The internet is more of a tool. Sometimes for your TOOL.

@ terracottus "you can choose your program for yourself. If you`re concerned about your kids: DON`T LET THEM WATCH THE SHOW" one thing you didnt seem to take into account is what about these shows that seem ok until something comes out of nowhere then the damage is done. IMO most tv cannot show nudity (which is natural) but can show 2 people of the same sex kissing (which is my opinion un-natural) so its ok for our kids to watch joe and frank hot and heavy but anime has to be censored (dragon ball - taking out a scene of goku swimming and showing off his butt) talk about backwards

@CrakrJak Ten of your US dollars says that you don`t even know what socialism actually is.

"Socialism" in the US is not socialism anywhere else in the world, yet the word gets used because it`s a dirty word harking back to those evil commies and get`s the right wing fanatics baying for blood.

davymid: icky ? Nice pre-pubescent condescending/dismissive term you used there. I have Christian values, They aren`t going to bend to whatever the hell some TV celebrity says or acts. Secularists don`t get to choose what Christians have to tolerate on TV or real life either.

`Social progression`, Another term for Socialism is another topic in and of itself. Society does not have to keep `progressing` toward a one world state of degradation and immorality.

@CrakrJak

Replace "promoting" with "making fun of".

It`s only very, VERY recently that homosexuality has been appearing in television WITHOUT it being the comic relief or the villain.

If you don`t like bananas, don`t buy or consume them. No one forces you to switch on the TV, you can choose your program for yourself. If you`re concerned about your kids: DON`T LET THEM WATCH THE SHOW. Anyone else`s kids are not your concern. The same people that are usually big for personal freedom (guns etc.) and big conservative family values seem to forget everything about parenting and everyone else`s freedom when something is too "icky" for them and try to force their opinion on everyone else.
And isn`t especially the fact that a "gay"show runs successful in capitalist America proof that no one cares about your opinion?

@Oldfrt Doesn`t television glamorize and hyper-masculinize straight men as well? The current Old Spice ad campaign is a clear example of how television producers hyperbolize on masculine and straight stereotypes, resulting in an extremely unrealistic portrayal of what "manly" men typically are. I agree that television producers can be foolish, but I do not think that the foolishness is limited to dramatizing the just gay stereotype.

There`s something seriously wrong with the world when I have to play the voice of reason, but here goes: If you don`t like what`s being portrayed in a television show, DON`T WATCH IT! And if you`re worried about your kids, be a parent and don`t let them watch it.
Gay people exist, just accept it. Contrary to popular belief, the majority of them aren`t crazed sexual deviants, either.

Glee is not a show anyone should be watching, but that`s just because it is such a horrible show. Even the very concept of the show is fail. Network TV is such poo nowadays.

Sorry to piss on your bonfire Crakrjak, but people like you don`t get to dictate social progression based on the fact that you personally find it a bit "icky".

Just saying. Must try harder.

The problem isn`t that gay characters are featured on TV. It`s that they are WAY too frequently presented either as "noble victims of evil persecution" or over the top, unrealistically flamboyant. All the gay people I`ve ever met have been pretty darn normal in public, yet they are rarely depicted that way on TV. If I were paranoid, I`d say TV was trying to brainwash society. But I`m not, so I`ll just say that TV producers are idiots.

Are people so used to a repressive, homophobic programming to the point that showing gay couples is considered gay propaganda? Yes, I`m quite sure the guys behind Glee are trying to make everyone gay, it makes complete sense. And now, in an effort to combine 2 South Park references:
1- Make everyone gay.
2- ???
3- CRAAAB PEOPLE, CRAAAB PEOPLE.

I hate how people try to make HIV/AIDS infected people = evil. The guy in the video says that 91% of infected men are either homosexual or drug addicts. (Which is untrue, on the CDC`s website it says 51%)HIV/AIDS is from unprotected sex and blood contact, not from being evil or homosexual.

My favorite part is when the representative for the family group says "91% of men with AIDS contracted it from homosexual conduct OR sharing needles" (not exact quote) and then somehow concludes that this makes homosexuality just as dangerous as a serious drug addiction. I reckon that 91% of AIDS in men AND women are a result of unprotected sexual contact OR needle sharing. Sigh... There`s a pie chart joke in here somewhere.

TV shows have been promoting the gay lifestyle since the 1960s, people originally took it as just a joke (as in crossdressing or an awkward kiss) but now it`s much more overt and in-your-face.

The GLEE story was Kurt had to change to a very expensive private school his parents couldn`t afford because he was unsafe from the bullies at his old school and had received death threats.

VERY glamerous indeed.

DUMBEST COMMENT -
"We all know of product placement..."
So... if you see gay people you will want to run out and buy one?

In all seriousness:
str8 people see gays on tv = irritating
young gays see gays on tv = life changing.

We still live in a world where gays are marginalized, ridiculed, murdered, and often see suicide as the only way out.

Gay sh*t my irritate you mr. 19842011, but you can s my c and get over it.

Obviously you`ve never been to Texas.

TV sucks ass. The number of gay shows that are aired is irrelevant to why TV sucks ass.

Jesus.. This is ridiculous. Should children be exposed to something that is a Reality? Of course not, raise them to hate others for being different! What kind of bullpoo perspective is this? Why can`t people recognize bigotry and prejudice for what it is these days? If that guy`s entire argument was about how showing black people reading, writing and speaking was bad for America he would get eaten alive, but since it`s gay people no one bats an eye. Humanity has lost its damn mind.
