"These kids? They complain its too hot, order pizzas with their parents money and play video games all day."

Unless there was a sense of irony in your post, you`ve pretty much described exactly how Calvin himself behaved:

Too Hot:

Doing nothing:

I`m pretty sure I also remember him stealing his dad`s credit card to try and buy a flamethrower.

You can`t call a kid "Bacon" that`s just cruel.

"`why`d he name his kid Bacon?`

Well, Calvin always was a little weird."

Also, Bill Watterson stated that Calvin and Hobbes were named after two philosophers, so it could be that her real name is Francis and is nicknamed Bacon (Francis Bacon...get it?)

Either way, very cute comic. :-) Part of me wants more, another part thinks two is enough.

VAJENGA as someone born in 1990 I salute you. My brother was born in 2000 and these kids are lame as fuuuuuck.
We used to be outside all day drating around doing stupid poo and we would find ways to occupy ourselves for hours with nothing.
These kids? They complain its too hot, order pizzas with their parents money and play video games all day.

@VAJENGA- Why does it seem that every generation, adults describe the children with that same little speech about not having to work for what we want? And the Jersey Shore comment--isn`t that just like the hippies of yesterday? There`s always one fad that the "older generation" will look down on and I guess that is one of them.
Not to say I like Jersey Shore, but comparing it to my whole generation is painting with a wide brush.

And I really like C&H. In fact, I have a book of their comics. |:

"I never understood the attraction to Calvin and Hobbs. I understand the attraction to this even less." C&H was an exploration of a child`s imagination and his stuffed tiger/imaginary friend. Kids used to play together and pretend and have an awesome time. I understand why you can`t wrap your shallow head around that concept though, you`ve been raised in a generation of children that have anything they want instantly provided. You`re a bunch of self centered, egotistical, talentless pieces of crap that think every time you fart we should all stand up and applaud. The problem isn`t shows like "Jersey Shore" that`s just a mirror held up to the face of the world we`ve become. The problem is the mediocrity that we`ve allowed to become acceptable for our youth, because we`re too lazy to teach them any better.

I was expecting a perversion or an internent MEM joke, or Vulgairty, or violence,....or even PEDOBEAR with the title...But nope, it is classic, well done, and repeatable rehash of my favorite Sunday comic character from when I was a kid!!!

@kotja Calvin has grown up and no longer needs the protection of a ferocious tuna sandwich eating tiger to help him. Very glad to see that the first fan art of C&H has been able to capture the heart and soul of the original strip.
Thank you to whoever did this (and H&B 2)

Yes, and we grew up to produce children... like YOU ;)"

Actually going by your age and location you`re from the same generation that spawned Snookie and the rest of those Jersey Shore twats. Well done there ;)

Anyway, here`s the site that it`s originally from, with a description under the comic.

Calvin and Hobbes were named after John Calvin and Thomas Hobbes. Whoever did this continued the trend by naming the kid after Francis Bacon.

Calvin and Hobbes is fantastic. This could have done without the petty (if fully deserved) political stab. It didn`t flow naturally.

I`m 19 and my dad hooked me up on Calvin & Hobbs when I was but a wee little boy. I loved `em and read them EVERY SINGLE DAY. Anyone who says this is stupid is clearly mentally deficient. My only question, why Bacon? But I love this :)

Mutts! Is better, but that`s like saying the Mona Lisa is "better" than Venus on a Half Shell...

In order:
Krazy Kat
Mutts!
Calvin & Hobbes
Bloom County
Popeye
Prince Valiant

@hanimanner: Bill Watterson didn`t want to commercialize his characters. The Calvin and Hobbes merchandise was never authorized by him and were made by third parties.
